yes this is true, i should be happy for the todd i have recieved.. i am happy about finally getting the boy.. but working retail during the holiday season sucks, especially considering they never hired us any holiday help.. seriously what is up with that? they are asking us to work 12 hour shifts and stuff, because they didn't hire any holiday help.. grrrr!

I don't know if it's illegal or not, but it makes no economic sense. Tired workers=surly workers, not to mention inadequate coverage = decreased production, longer wait times, and more annoyance for the customers. Hiring a few more people makes more economic sense than losing all that business. sad Sorry you have to work for such penny-pinchers.

hmm, on second thought, it isn't illegal so long as you get paid the proper overtime, I thinks. But you're right, GR; it makes no sense! Just like it doesn't make any sense for *my* boss to not hire anyone else, despite the fact that our store and the mall we're in is very slow. It'd have still made sense to hire a third person so that we can all take a couple days off each, or something...instead I'm having to work 6 days a week (and somehow still come up short of 40 hours...which also pisses me off) and he has to work all 7 days. He's wanting to save money since he owns the store and the store doesn't do as well as it used to, but still!

well it's not that they schedule them that long, they ask and if they volunteer, then they let them stay and work that long.. i myself though find that to be a bit stupid, because they make them take an extra 30 minute lunch.. so in the long run, they will get more overtime if they just come in and work on one of there days off.. but it does make you tired, but if they want to come in and work extra, then they will i guess.. i wanted to work extra hours and get some overtime and nice checks.. but i started hanging out with todd, and that idea went away..

Rant: e-mail and spam and differentiating the two.
I got an e-mail from a 'Sam' who supposedly talked to me on myspace some time ago, but I do not recall ever talking to a 'Sam' on myspace, and I definitely haven't talked to anyone on myspace over the past few months (aside from ppl I talk to here, meaning I haven't talked to anyone *new* to me), but I don't know if this was some person who I talked to ages upon ages ago or just spam and it's pissing me off cause I wanna reply and say 'no I do not remember you'. But I'm afraid of the implications of replying, but at the same time 'Sam' already has my e-mail address. neutral buhhhh

If you suspect it's spam I wouldn't reply. That will let them know your e-mail is active and they'll never stop spamming you.
