Alright, folks. Just something I thought I'd note here before I get a "Maarten's not that friendly to minorities!" note from someone.

I'm revamping him a little.

There, I said it! But let me explain why before you all fear that the Maarten you all loved to hate is gone. Recently some research into Dutch culture has been performed and it has been found that our Proud-To-Be-Dutch friend is, well, in short, not very Dutch. Aside from an odd amount of patriotism for a culture that actually frowns upon nationalism of any sort, he's also absurdly racist for a culture that *seems* (from what I've heard) to actually be more prejudice against cultures rather than skin color.

So.. Americans and Europeans should, actually, be okay to Maarten. Hence, Felicia is okay. Because she's a modern thinking American! Well, okay, not so forward thinking, Americans have a few hang ups, after all, but it seems to be a cultural thing.

Now, anyone resembling middle-eastern will still have issues since around this time of the RP, the Netherlands were taking issue with Middle Easterners. So, Maarten's prejudice has been slightly narrowed, but will still be extreme--FOR THE DUTCH. Includes quite a few people still and anyone who just happens to physically resemble a Middle Easterner (Akio and Anthy), but yeah, not quite as broad as "Everyone who is not pale as the full moon."

Thought I should give a heads up, since most of us have come to expect a certain assholery from our resident b*****d and I didn't want you all to think I had forgotten. He's still oddly proud of being Dutch, didn't get rid of that. Still prejudice, and still very homophobic. God, I love that last one too much to tweak with it.

Ha ha believe it or not getting my life together. I gradated college with a BFA in Media Arts and Animation and got a job as an in-house graphic artist and videographer for a company called Concurrent Technologies Corporation. Got a car...about to rent a house...and have been keeping up with the martial arts thing. Madness.

But like, (okay..cue the sap fest, right?) I've been seriously missing what I used to love to do, and have gotten back into writing and drawing again...and found like...I really miss you guys and RPing and stuff. It sounds hokey but I miss the intellectual discussions and goof-ball antics and off-the-wall humor. So, I know it's out of the blue but...uh...here I wandered in? xd
