"Thanks," Kaleb said, reaching up to hold onto Riley's shoulder. Walking was still a rather painful and slow process, but at least he could support most of his weight against his partner and keep it off his injured ankle.

Eventually he got tired of the slow pace and just picked Kaleb up. "Don't complain." He warned him as he headed for his office.

Kaleb squeaked loudly and immediately began complaining. "Riley! I-I'm okay, please put me down!" He wiggled a bit, trying to free himself from his partner's grasp. This was certainly not the most dignified way of going back to the office.

Kaleb froze, and then went limp with a resigned sigh. He blushed as he was carried in, knowing someone was bound to see them and start poking fun. "Y-you could have put me down just outside the office," he said.

"Then i'd'ave to had ta watch ya limp to the couch." He shrugged. Thankfully the office was empty so he didn't catch any lip for carrying Kaleb.

Once they passed the door into Riley's office, Kaleb wiggled impatiently. "You could have let me get here on my own and just not looked," he said in an unhelpful manner.

"Doesn't work like that" He walked over and dropped Kaleb carefully on the couch. "Now stay there until i come back with ice." He just had a feeling Kaleb would get up and try to do something on his own just to prove he could.

Kaleb huffed a little, but he nodded in reply. He shifted a bit so he could lean against the arm of the couch, and then stretched over to grab the book he had left from the day before and pull that into his lap. He certainly would have gotten up to do something if he didn't have the book there to read from while Riley was gone.

He left the office and came back after a few minuets with an ice pack for Kaleb. He also had a rolled up blanket so that his partner's ankle could be kept up while he iced it. "Here ya go."

Kaleb accepted both with a small smile, and set them on the couch beside him. "Thanks, I-I didn't know there were blankets at the office..." He pushed his book off his lap and leaned over to untie his shoe, then carefully pulled it off with a small wince. His ankle had already started to swell, so he quickly arranged the blanket on the couch and turned to get comfortable with his ankle put up and iced.

Kaleb nodded, and then pulled his book back into his lap. It would have been more comfortable with a pillow, but he couldn't portal to his apartment to grab one. A glass of something to drink would also have been nice, especially chocolate milk if he was entertaining the thought of going to his apartment, but he didn't want to bother Riley about something so small when he could just wait for lunch.

He flopped back down at his desk and pulled up some reports to work on. He could drag Kaleb home later during lunch and make him stay on that couch. At least there he could watch tv while reading or something.

Kaleb slouched a bit in his seat as he got into his reading, and he was almost able to forget the pain in his ankle as he reviewed the complex spell forms and diagrams from his book. After twenty minutes or so he glanced up to take the icepack off his ankle and set it on the floor next to him.
