About: The minute that Tam emerged from the bowl, he was possessed by the spirit of his long-dead uncle, accidentally murdered by his mother. Uncle Tam has been a guiding force for him all his life, a guardian angel if you will. The two are almost exactly alike in appearance and manner.
Tam takes his mother's relationship with Pi seriously; he has appointed himself the unofficial protector of the younger generations of Pi's family, especially Clio. The two of them are very close.
