I confess that we've just bought a $780,000 new house. It has over 2100 sq metres of land, and its a 13 minute walk from our family's nursing home. We're probably going to move there in July.

Minielf I confess that we've just bought a $780,000 new house. It has over 2100 sq metres of land, and its a 13 minute walk from our family's nursing home. We're probably going to move there in July. Holy ******** crap that's a lot of money. My parents are just about to have a house built on their block, no idea how much it cost but is no where near that much that's for sure. I confess I am now being employed as a lab tech. Zombie virus here I come.

It's not that expensive considering what we got. 2130 sq metres is a massive amount of land, easily equal to two full suburban blocks. The house itself is awesome, with an enormous front living room and master bedroom. And there's a tennis court, barbecue grill and dog kennel at the back. mrgreen
$780,000 might be a lot to you, since you live in Albury (the land there must be dirt cheap blaugh ), but here in Melbourne residential prices have become insane in the last few years. The amount we paid for that house wouldn't even buy us a decent 3 bedroom house anywhere in the central eastern suburbs.
Ooh you're a lab technician now. I foresee many wierd frankenstein experiments. rofl

$750k isn't that much. neutral
The property I'm at now is probably worth at least that much and it's only 5 acres.
Houses out towards Lennox Head have been selling for millions, even some riverish properties in Ballina have been going for that much.
If I can pay $750k for a house when I'm at the point of actually buying a house I'll be over the ******** moon, inflation is ridiculous.

I don't even have $7.50 to my name at the moment. No way I'd pay that much for a house unless I was loaded. Stick it to the man. I'll build a hut on someone's roof and they won't even notice.
