I remember the first time I was hit up about my label... happened on the Internet, first year of college. I was a regular in an RP chatroom:
GUY: So, what are you?
ME: What am I?
GUY: Yeah. Are you punk? Goth?
ME: ....
GUY: You're not a PREP, are you? gonk
ME: I'm... um, the girl in the corner with the silly shirt. You do realize that these labels don't mean much outside of high school, right?
GUY: They're important. I'm just glad you're not a prep.
Yeah... broadsided me. Never really occurred to me to identify myself that way at all... I guess I would call myself a drama geek, but still.
Not long after that, labels EXPLODED. Honestly? I don't really know the difference between punk and emo. Goth has more black and eyeliner. Everyone goes to Hot Topic, except for the preps who go to Abercrombie and American Eagle.

*agrees immensely*
tho. I use goth cuz it gives a general idea of how i am, but it seems like everybody misinerprets it so i may stop using it at some point... but it doesn't mean that i'll change any sweatdrop

i don't really shop at any specific place... I jsut wander aroun aimlessly and if i see anything i like, i buy.
Departamental stores are good, cuz they have lot's of weird things
