Then he noticed that she had a leaf stuck in her hair.
"Stay still for a moment." he said, as he leaned forward, their faces inches apart.

Emery froze as he leaned forward, her entire face warm. The last thing she had expected was for his face to suddenly be within a mere few inches of hers, and she wasn't sure how to react. "Uh... okay." She stuttered, still frozen with surprise. She wondered if her even realized how close he was, or if he even knew what effect it had on her.

Actually, she was like a goody student and he was a rebel, but he got her into detention. They ended up becoming good friends, but he didn't feel good enough for her and she was shy, so he graduated and left and she was sad cause she lost her first love.

"You had a leaf in your hair." he said simply, returning to his position.

Emery finally let out her breath, turning away so Ren couldn't see her face. "I could have gotten it myself." She snapped, irritated that he had embarrassed her for no reason. She watched the fireworks, waiting for her face to cool down.

"...?" Ren tilted his head, confused as to why she suddenly snapped at him.
Deciding to ignore the outburst, he simply turned back to the fireworks, admiring them.

After finally calming down Emery looked back to Ren. "I'm sorry. Just...don't get so close without warning me first." She said quietly. It was one thing to know when he was going to be touching her, but the sudden closeness and touching still took her by surprise. While it was a stupid fear, it was a fear nonetheless. "I don't like being touched without warning." She said, even more quietly than before. She hated the vulnerable feeling she was getting, and ended up trying to focus her attention back on the fireworks.

Emery moved back to be closer to Ren, glad that he wasn't questioning her strange outburst. "I don't mind this," She send, looking up at him. "Do you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow in question.

Emery watched as the fireworks finale started, amazed at the scene in front of her. "Wow! It's amazing!" She gasped, her eyes twinkling from the fireworks in front of her. She grinned, glad that she was able to watch it. At the same time, she realized that meant it was almost time to go home.

Emery was mesmerized through the rest of the fireworks, each moment of the show proving to be more beautiful than the last. As the show finally ended she turned to Ren, a smile on her face. "While this was fun, I suppose that means we have to go." This disappointed her slightly, but she shook it off as she stood up. Emery took Ren's jacket off of her shoulders and offered it to him "I'm sure you're cold now, so you can take this." She insisted, her eyes meeting his.
