Luka tilted her head to give him better access. "Now don't go starting something you can't finish. Knowing Georga, dinner will be ready any minute."

Holly finished with the plates and started playing with Jeff's hair. "Your hair is nice. I wish I could get mine to be this soft."

Erika slid into a chair next to Jeff and started examining his bicep. "Honestly, of all the kids we never thought it would be Yakov to bring home a guy as hot as you."

Freya laughed. "Hey, he's almost hot enough to make me wish I was straight. Is it really any surprise that Yakov switched teams?"

Yakov caughed from where he was leaning against the door frame. "Now girls, if you don't back off him, I may be forced to go into a jealous rage."

The girls all giggled and went back to table setting.

Yakov sat in a chair next to Jeff. He whispered into Jeff's ear. "After dinner you and I are disappearing. I have something I want to show you." He kissed Jeff on the cheek and went to go help Georga in the kitchen.

Curtis was on his feet in an instant. He flattened the futon, propped up the pillows, and then covered it all with a large, old white sheet. After that he very carefully escorted Katra to lay down on it. Then, sitting beside her and holding one of her hands, he dialed Hanz's number.

"I don't think I want to miss that." Connor lifted his head and grinned. "After months of jerky, Spaghetti-O's and beer a home-cooked meal sounds wonderful." He briefly kissed her lips. "Especially if I get a big helping of you for dessert."

Luka smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. "Like I would allow for anything else." She kissed him and then drug him down stairs where dinner was getting set out. She sat at her usual spot and the table and made Connor sit down next to her.

Yakov, Greg, and Georga carried a lot of dishes from the kitchen and set them in the middle of the table.

Once everyone was seated, the chaos began. Dishes and plates were passed left and right and across the table and people were holding thousands of conversations. Georga kept making fun of the girls for leaving the boys to always help in the kitchen. Sven suggested that she wouldn't want Luka in the kitchen anyway as she always seemed to be busy getting covered in tractor grease. The girls shamelessly flirted with Jeff and Connor. Jimmy and Luka made plans to rebuild the fourwheelers. Greg, Sven, and Yakov plotted ice fishing trips. Luka never took her hand off Connor's leg and Yakov would constantly look at Jeff dreamily and sigh.

Dinner ended and the table was cleared. Everyone went and settled infront of the t.v. in the living room. Georga was knitting in her chair. Sven was smoking a pipe in his chair next to her. Everyone else was sprawled together on various bits of furniture. Luka shoved Connor next to the arm rest and took up his entire side so he wouldn't have to endure her families touchy-feelyness.

During the table clearing chaos, Yakov had grabbed a bag from the kitchen and pulled Jeff outside.

Yakov led Jeff through the snow and into the trees until the reached a clearing. Here there was a water fall and part of the stream had't frozen over. There was no snow on the ground because of the thick canopy overhead. Yakov spread a blanket on the ground and invited Jeff to sit with him.

Yakov shook his head. "You have absolutely no idea what day it is, do you?"

Yakov took Jeff's hand. "Exactly six months ago..." He leaned in and gave Jeff a kiss and then looked at the ring on Jeff's hand as he ran his thumb over it. "I gave you this." He turned and started digging through the bag.

Yakov emerge from the bag with two glasses and a bottle of wine. He handed a glass to Jeff and filled it and then filled his own. He smiled at Jeff. "Now stop looking like that. Anniversaries are supposed to be enjoyed. You could at least smile a little."

Yakov smiled as he took a sip of his wine. "At least I could see through the cloud of raging hormones long enough to remember what day it is."
