Hayden caught a slight hint of movement heading his way and shot off some fire so that he could see. "Hey!! Why are you coming this way now?"

She skidded to a halt and dashed in another direction away from him. Her goal was to lose him before she continued on home.

"Damnit! Wait!" He frowned as he lost her....though he kept on going anyway. He wasn't going home without at least pretending to escort someone to their home.

Waverly finally made it to a river and waded into it, swimming down stream as silently as she could.

Out of sheer dumb luck Hayden made it to a river. He sat at the edge and blew fire across the water, watching the dark shadows that moved under the surface.

Waverly squeaked at the sudden flash of flames and swam faster. How does he keep finding me?

Hayden perked up at the squeak and dashed into the water, "Hey! Anyone out there?" He shot another flash of flames downstream, catching sight of something slipping through the stream. "You! Halt!"
