Gwin wimpered, and a tear rolled down her cheek.
[Nazz, I'm feeling REALLY emo lately! XP]
She glanced back to Sev, and gave a mangled look.
At least he's trying... Gwin shook herself, and got up shakily.
The sphinx cackled and made it's way over to Severus.
"You don't know how to activate your items either- I see..." it mused, it's tail twitching madly.

"ARGH!" Leah yelled with frustration. "Oh, hang it all...' She said, as she stepped away from James and darted forward, the shoes falling out of her pocket as she did so. James leapt forwards too, but tripped and fell on his face with a different grace than he usually showed on the quidditch field. (xD) Leah practically jumped to grab the sword stuck in the wall, but it stuck, and she hung there for an instant. "Must...Save Gwin...and....Sev!" She gasped out, wiggling with all her might to get the large sword out of the wall.
James looked up just in time to see 'little Leah' (As he had always thought her) lift a sword that was ridiculously larger than her and swing it rather wildly at the Sphinx, yelling some war cry. "EULELIAAAAAAH!!"

Nadia opened the watch. The hour hand was at the 12 along with the minute hand. The second hand clicked loudly as it moved around the numbers. "Yeah, it still works." She looked up at Remus. "Remus," Nadia waved her hand in front of his fascinated stare. She turned to Kailyn and Sirius. No one moved. "Sirius, Kailyn?" She walked to Kailyn and placed her fingers on her wrist. "No pulse? How can that be?" Nadia looked down at the watch. The second hand made its way around the clock and it struck at twelve. The minute hand was now at the first dot after the 12. She closed the watch. Nadia fell to the ground still grasping Kailyn's wrist. A pulse leaped in Kailyn's wrist, one after the other. "It stops time." She whispered in astonishment. "It stops time!"

Sirius blinked and did a double take when Nadia suddenly appeared on the ground, shouting about time. "What stops time?" he said, feeling confused.
"The watch does," Remus answered, helping Nadia to her feet. "Wow. I've never seen anything like that before."
"It's a brilliant idea," murmered Sirius, his devious mind already scheming for things to do if time was stopped. They could rob Honeydukes blind...in no time at all!

"A watch that stops time? How horribly ironic!" Said Kailyn, smiling at Nadia. Her mind too, was thinking of the endless schemes that the watch could enable. Kailyn twitched slightly, and patted Nadia's shoulder. "Well, I'm glad it's in the hands of one so....Responsible." The last bit was sent with a meaningful glance at Sirius, who she figured was itching to use it for some devious means.

Sirius smiled at Kailyn. "Responsibility has its place in the world...as does all things that are, dare I say, Roguish." He carefully articulated the last word, smirking. "Don't you think, Kailyn?"

Kailyn bristled, angry at herself for walking into Sirius's jive. She should of known better! Ugh.
"Oh yes, Black. I agree completely." She said, a forced smile on her face. "But when it comes to such.... Roguish things, I prefer a challenge. Old school superiority, and all that?" There. That wasn't so bad....Hopefully.

The sphinx turned it's sluggish gaze to 'Little Leah'.
It tutted with a motherly annoyance.
"Now, now- We can't have you stealing from each other." It was completely un-phased by Leah's full-on assult.
The sphinx easily dodged the sloppy swordsmanship and gave Leah a n** at the wrist, enough to cause her to drop the sword, which would immedatly scuttle back to it's owner.

"Challenge?" repeated Sirius, his smirk widening. "Sounds familiar," he said. "And as you've probably figured out, I most certainly am one for challenges."
Remus looked between them, slightly uncomfortable. This was pure, raving madness. Here they were, trapped in a maze underneath the school, and Sirius was flirting. Idiot.

Kailyn closed her eyes and took a deep breath. 1, 2, 3, 4,...... 10.... She counted silently, to no effect. Her eyes shot open, and the rage emitted from the glare directed at Sirius probably would of split stone. "That's it." She spat out. "I am done tolerating you, Black! Shut up or I will shut you up. Clear?" Kailyn said, jabbing her wand threateningly in his face.Severus, not quite knwing why he had to be the one with the sword, picked it up anyway and stood up again, a tad shakily. The whole fight was getting more than a little old. If he had to protect the others, so be it. Anything to get past this obstacle, which he suspected was the first in a long line before they could get out of here. Besides - Uh..... School unity?
While the Sphinx was still looking at Leah, Sev swung the sword at its eye.[ Remembering the 3rd movie- ::involuntary shudder::
When Snape stood in front of the kids to defend them?

Sirius's grin faded only slightly, and he cast an imploring look at Remus.
"Nadia, I think we should..." Not bothering to finish his sentence, Remus tugged Nadia and her watch away from Sirius and Kailyn and into a passage further on.
Sirius watched their retreating backs and then turned his attention back to Kailyn. "Alright. I'll stop being adorable to ask: why the bloody hell do you hate me so bloody much?" he asked, a hint of frustration in his voice. It was irony, really, that Sirius could have any other girl in the castle with a casual smile, and he was practically on bended knee getting this hag to like him. But, he consoled himself, she was a very pretty hag.

Nadia gave a sigh of relief when Remus led her to another pathway. "Thanks for the help, but I think I can handle it now." Nadia said thankfully as she tried to stand up. She tottered a bit in attempt to regain her balance, but soon fell back to the ground with a thud, and a soft moan. "I guess not."

Remus smiled in spite of himself and helped Nadia up again. "It's fine. Really," he answered, shrugging and unaware that he was still holding Nadia's hand loosely. "So do you think they'll kill each other, or should we just go on without them?, asked Remus, referring to Sirius and Kailyn.

[Flippin' mother hen. : ShakesHead :] The sphinx looked Severus right on, and smiled.
Just before the sword made contact, the shpinx managed to say,
"Everyone's a critic. And a Gryffie."
It laughed as the sword hit it, causing the sphinx to spiral into dust. Like a deasert storm, it blew madly, a faint cackling could be heard as the dust/sand swirled upwards.Gwin grinned so largely that it would've even startled the Cheshire Cat.
"Exellent work, Sev." she murmered, and scooted warily to her adopted sister.
"Leah, you okay? That was a sharp n** it gave you."
And offered her hand to inspect Leah's.
Gwin's smile twinged as another pang came to her anckle.
If that rat Petegrew got out by being injured, why the heck am Istill here?

Nadia smiled. "No, we can wait here for them. I think they'll figure it out; eventually." She wobbled slightly. "I guess this is the side effect after using the watch." Nadia opened her hand, revealing the watch which has caused her unsteadiness. "With effects like this after only one minute, I don't want to think about how five would be." She said as she put the watch into her pocket. Nadia sighed and looked at Remus. He was holding something. Nadia blushed and took her hand out of his. "Um, thanks for the helping me up."
