Bronwyn jumped slightly as the half-dragon walked over to stop politely next to the table. She shook her head after a moment.
"I am sorry, but...uh..." She trailed off, not sure how to explain that she didn't use the cards. Her magic was of the older kind, and was much more complex to cast. Her teachers had all been against cards, being from an ancient society before cards were widely used. Most people didn't even realize that her kind of magic still existed, and she'd brought enough attention to herself for one evening. "I..er...I don't know much about cards." She finished lamely, looking over at Leo and Inese. She mentally kicked herself. Nice going, Bronwyn. Real intelligent. She thought.

Leo eyed the two of clubs that the dragon man was holding. He racked his brain, trying to remember what he knew about club cards.
"I'm not sure exactly how much help I can be, but I'll do my best. What do you need?"
Leo casually looked down and discretely checked to make sure his bracelet was hidden under his sleeve. It was. He covered his action by taking a sip of his water. The water wasn't very satisfying, but he'd take what he had for the moment.

Mahna nodded to the man, and half laughed to himself at the woman lame response. She was not being truthful. He looked over to the man. "My name is Mahna, I came across this card during one of my more vigorous trials. It gives me the ability to perform more basic illusions, but by far more powerful than any others that I have seen." His voice trailed off. The emerald blaze on his Halberg burned with a deep emerald blaze.
The men behind them continued eyeing the man, and Mahna's sensed some kind of contention between them and this man. He leaned over to him and whispered, "Who are they?" He asked quietly, his dark blue eyes looking towards them.

Leo smiled. Then he spoke quietly, taking great care to move his lips as little as possible. "I wish I knew." He whispered.
Then he spoke in a normal voice. "Well, I'm not sure exactly what kind of help you want. The cards power varies. I can say you got a nice first deal, and should be careful with it." Leo eyed Bronwyn and Inese. He was telling the truth, he didn't know who the men were. But he had a sinking feeling that he knew why they were staring at him.
The two men got up from their table and started to slowly walk towards the door.

Mahna nodded, and made sure not to drive into the subject deeper, lest he insult this man. He moved around slowly, yearning to stretch his wings. They were begining to cramp, and he was careful to hide his stress. "Thank you, and what would your name be?" He asked slowly, mounting his Halberg onto his back.

"My name's Leo." Then the two men turned back. One of them held up his hand. He was holding a card. Leo reacted quickly. He stood up and had his staff ready just as the man's card activated. A Vine shot out of the man's hands. It smashed into the table, breaking it in half.

Mahna hesitated, he did not wish to cause chaos. A split second later he spread his wings wide, throwing the second man into the wall. He drew his Halberg and let the power of his card fade, as he swiped from side to side to parry and slice the incoming vines from the man. He jumped to Leo, and breathed an emerald flame to burn more incoming vines. "What did you do?" He asked, suprisingly calm.

Leo was about to answer when one of the vines wrapped around his staff. The vine began to pull back, attempting to disarm him. He pulled back, causing his opponent to trip. Leo was quick to take advantage of this. He ran forward, held his right hand facing the man's head, and yelled. "Two!" A shot of lightning hit the man, causing him to twitch. Before his opponent could get back on his feet, Leo hit him in the temple with his staff. The man slumped over. After quickly checking to make sure the two thugs were both unconcious, he turned to the dragon man. When he next spoke, he was breathing a little harder then he normally would after a fight. He felt a bead of sweat run down the side of his face. He needed to get some sleep soon.
"You want to know what I did? I ran away from home."

Mahna nodded. "For reasons I am sure that are reasonable?" He questioned, moving towards the men and throwing each one out of the door. He looked over Leo, noting his fatigued and worn composure. "Find sleep my friend, I will watch over you in the mean time." He said before reactivating his card power.

"Thanks man." Leo turned to face Bronwyn and Inese.
"See you two later."
Leo walked up to his room on the second floor and fell asleep.
((Guys, do you mind if we do a passing of time thing? Just because I don't want to really wait the game equivilant of five hours of posting. Could we agree five hours have passed?))

When the men who had been taking a bit more interest in Leo than was necessary attacked, Bronwyn leapt back, pushing Inese out of the way of the reaching vine. The table splintered, and the pair of them fell to the ground. She surged to her feet as Leo took care of the second man, although it seemed to take quite a toll on him. She looked around, glaring at anyone who seemed too interested until their gazes dropped. She turned to pull Inese to her feet, then nodded to Leo.
"Go to sleep...you look like hell." Then she turned to Mahna. "I am Bronwyn, by the way, and this is Inese." She held out a hand. "Want some help standing guard?" She smiled.

the attack surprised Inese, so did everything else, in the end she was still holding the smoky sweet spice, well part of it anyways, the cap had broken off and most of its contents spilled on the floor. She dropped the contained while standing up, unclipping her knives while she was at it just in case someone decided to start another fight.
"Must be a very scary home" Inese said while brushing herself off.

Mahna looked to the 2 young women, before bowing his head. "Of course, if your up to it. It's getting dark though, wouldn't you prefer some rest?" He asked politely, carefully mounting his Halberg onto his back. He stretched his wings before folding them again on his back, causing some angered eyes as he tipped things, and nudged people with them.

((Okay, all are agreed. razz resses button on the computer, rp time moves forward))
Leo woke up after about five hours of sleep. For most people, that wouldn't be enough after hiking for a day, then getting into two fights. But Leo didn't usually need much sleep. He wasn't eager to get out of bed though. He didn't want to face the other's questioning. Finally, he pulled himself out of bed and exited to the tavern.
