Haha. And I thought the point for Anti-Elitist guild was to not fight and have the "elitist attitude". Contradicting themselves.

Miss Nicolette Strange annai Miss Nicolette Strange No one deserves meanness. Ever.
And I am getting really tired of arguing with you over nothing, so I will see you around. Ciao. I actually think its amusing how your AEL Guild is against the "b***h Elitists" but you guys fight with equal fervor as they do in that department XD. We're allowed to fight for what we believe in, aren't we? Lol and the same thing can be said for them only they do it a little more aggressively. I still don't get the point to saying that people hate something that they're somewhat alike too.

Alright. Everyone has some part of them that wants to be the best, that wants to be bitchy to those who are "beneath them" in any way. The difference between "elitists" and "anti-elitists" is that one allows nature to take its course, and the other tries to suppress it for the benefit of everyone.
Either way could be right. Either way could be wrong. I have chosen not to let that part of me take over and rule me. You have chosen otherwise. When we think about it that way, it's not so bad.
I've thought about it a lot, and I really don't think we have any reason to fight. While I really don't appreciate the bitchy and unkind comments I've seen from friends of yours, I can understand why you're angry. It's just two different types of people colliding. We don't mesh, so we feel we have to fight to defend ourselves.
So if you and your friends are willing to apologize, forgive, and forget, I think I can convince my friends to do the same.
I think we'd all end up happier, and maybe we could even learn from each other.

You can't assume something without knowing xd . I mean I have absolutely nothing to apologize for and I have never had a "problem" with someone in which I would be considered being rude. In fact I'm the owner of EGL Guild where we never have this drama. I think its a little foolish of you to assume something as such and ask for an apology. If you even read my first message I could have been rude to those girls at my panel but I wasn't because that isn't the way I deal with things. Please be sure to know things completely before you state something as such next time stare

Very amusing indeed. Such a stupid request coming from those who just assume out their asses. And this apology request is coming from someone who was so quick to calling people elitists because the OR lolitas have a dress code for their tea party.

hey, I'd just like to say that perhaps both sides should back off? cool down until we can discuss like normal people wink because exchanging angry words only proves both sides to be meanie heads
there is nothing wrong with elitist lolitas as long as they are trying to help! everyone has different teaching styles, and this is theirs. It has helped some lolitas improve their style. It's not a competition game of "I am lolier-than-thou"
there is also nothing wrong with creating a guild where all advice/teachings must be done kindly and without what may be considered a 'b**chy' attitude. it just makes new lolitas more happy to share their coordinates, however bad it may be because they know they will not get "itarori" yelled at them
time for happy time! heart

im of the opinion EVERYONE whether lolita or not should be polite and civil but i think theres a fairly big difference between being walked all over and being nice. even when someone does act uncivil there are ways you can reply without lowering yourself to that level as well. being rude and uncivil does nothing beneficial and just makes yourself come off as rather low. sadly not many people seem to agree with this which truly is too bad

All this elitist/anti-elitist bickering sounds like lolita gang warz to me. Exciting.
If people want to be elitist, let them, but I don't see a reason to hold a grudge. It's sad that today the term 'elite' has been misconstrued to pretty much mean only that people think they are better than others, instead of a fuller definition which allows for the elite to provide an example to those who are not elite, that they might raise themselves up. I don't think that all elitists wish to exclude those who are not elite, they just like to talk with others who appreciate the time and effort they've dedicated to the lolita portion of their lives, and get tired of talking to people who haven't spent as much time and invested as many resources into it, so don't quite get it.
I don't have any desire to join an elitist group, because though I dress lolita often enough, I'd much rather be discussing, creating, and critiquing art. And, I am an elitist when it comes to that subject, so I need all my energy for those conversations.

oh boy I think it's finally blown over...
anyway, just so I say something related to the original topic, Idon' think how you dress shoudl dictate how you act, but I find I tend to act how I dress anyway, so it's pretty natural for me to be a bit moe nice and polite when I'm in 'lolita mind'

I'm polite all the time, but I find when I put on my lolita clothes that it seems to discourage me from cursing, and I tend to be a bit more elegant. It's not a consious thing, I just seem to want my behavior to fit my outfit.
I believe everyone should be polite. If everyone used common courtesy, perhaps we'd get along a bit better.

In my opinion, I think the arguing parties need to cool down. If you want to have a debate, make a thread somewhere and use it for debate purposes only, and don't let feelings get hurt. If it reaches a point to where no one can get over it and forgive and forget, then don't "debate" it anymore. -just my opinion-
On the original topic...
Lolitas should just act themselves. Only, if that involves killing everyone's ears with curse words being every other word, then refrain from doing so. You'd be doing us all a small favor. I, personally, don't like hearing that word so much, due to some past experiences with my parents throwing that word at each other every chance they got when a disagreement got heated.
Common courtesy is also nice. Such as, manners (table manners, language, ect.) politeness, and such. I've always been that way. Although, I have a tendency to to speak my mind when it's not good to do so in a situation.
Everyone has a "right" to "fight back" in a situation, as opposed to the preconceived notion that Lolitas are expected to be doormats.

I agree with everyone and would love to point out that...
Women during the Rococo era or Victorian times weren't nice or polite in the least at times.
Example, Rococo era would have been in the palaces and with the nobility, and everyone knows how well nobility gets along, seriously :/ That era of time was filled with back-stabbing rule-breaking females (and males) who would do just about anything to claw their way to the top of the ladder.
And for Victorian times, wans't the the time when women were brutally fighting for voting rights? The battles were fought with such vehemence and passion, many women were jailed during the fighting.
So when people are at your throat for being Lolita, its part of the fashion and history to stand strong for your beliefs and arguements, not just smile serenely and avert the conversation.

Patch-Work-Alice im of the opinion EVERYONE whether lolita or not should be polite and civil Seriously. I hate hearing things like " A lolita should be polite". Everyone should be polite, what you're wearing doesn't suddenly dictate whether or not you get to be a dingus to the people around you.
