Juliart was just sitting quietly, waiting for some sign that she could start eating, when she blinked in surprise, looking up at the selkie queen, not really sure if she was really addressing her. "Ah...ah, meh name es Juliart. Friends call meh Juli, er, yer Ladyship." She said, bowing her head respectfully. A giddy feeling in her stomach as the Queen braided a shell into her hair. She blushed and smiled shyly, "Thank yeh...'ve...jes never eaten with such regal company..." She lightly fingered the shell, smiling and relaxing a little bit more, though she was still a bit nervous, something about the Queen's aura calmed her greatly. She looked over as a selkie woman brought in a beautiful young girl and frowned, a bit worried, though she remained in her place.

Aeya rolled her head to the side, sighing softly through her parched lips. Her pink tongue darted out to lick her pink lips and she snuggled against the selkie healer, muttering something unintelligible.

Flustered, Aoide dipped down in another bow, before looking up with a hesitant smile on her face. "You're too kind, my lady." She said, softly, "I'm glad I could be of assistance though." Her smile grew a little, before it faded into a worried frown as Thamina entered, carrying a young girl.

Listening to her speak, the copper-haired Selkie chewed on her bottom lip as she looked at the small girl. "Is she hurt?" She spoke up looking worried, "Or merely tired?" The poor thing looked like she needed some rest though, and some food and water once she awoke.

"She was hurt when I found her. I have done the best I could at the beaches. Now she is merely tired and sleeping soundly. She told me she came from the Northern tribes." Thamina said as she shifted the girl in her arms again.

Tracey was anxious to leave; he wanted this over with so he could get back to sea and back to finding the red-eyed man. He was planning on asking the Queen about the help they promised when she seemed to take an interest in Juli.

Quietly, he watched the interaction, there was no smile but he was happy to see Juli recognized by the Queen. Not saying a word, he didn't want to interfere with the moment.

The response to his comment to the Queen should have been returned with a smile but he didn't smile so there was just another courtly nod. Again, before he could ask, a child was brought to the gathering. Both worried and annoyed, he remained where he was, watching to see if they would need help but otherwise dedicated to remaining out of their own affairs, the rest of the crew took his lead. What part they didn't take was the split attention between the food and what was going on with the sekies. For them it took half the fun out of it since they couldn't flirt or anything.

Thamina entered at this point, the queen's eyes narrowing slightly, moving to the healer, looking at the child's clothing.

"From the north..." she muttered lightly, raising her head to Juliart when she found that she seemed a bit speechless from her antics. It was understandable, in all honesty. Still, as she watched the selkie child move about in the healer's arms, she wished for nothing more than to carry her off and tend to her herself. She supposed it was the protective feeling she got for her kin.

"Thamina, please take her to a guest's chamber and care for her until she wakes. When she does, she will need food and drink. Once restored, I will have an audience with her. Her health is the more important part of this."

"Yes your majesty. I will see to it at once." Thamina nodded her head in respect even as she turned and walked out of the chamber holding the child close to her. It was easy getting to a guest chamber and laying the child down in a nice safe bed. Thamina smiled as she set the girl down. "There you are little one. You'll be good as new in no time." She tucked the girl in and then took a seat next to the bed to monitor her guest.

Juliart began picking at the delicious food, realizing that Tracey was starting to feel impatient. She hoped that the selkie child would be all right, but knew better than to get involved. Right now it seemed as if this was all just going through the rounds, and most likely wouldn't last long. There wasn't much conversation and she knew that the sailors would be heading back to the ship soon and readying to leave.

Aeya rolled over and snuggled down into the wonderfully soft pillow, moaning in bliss. She felt so warm and safe, and vaguely wondered how she had gotten home already, until her dreams swept her away into a restful sleep.

((I don't know how much we are going to have in the dinner or just skipping forward, but once it's over I'll wake Aeya up.))

It took a while for Aeya to fully heal, especially when she came down with a fever and it took her sister selkies a lot of work to keep her in the land of the living. Finally she was allowed to go out and walk on the beach, though her health still required her to sleep and rest, so she hadn't gotten the chance to speak to the queen yet about why she had come. Curtesy dictated that she get well before speaking of business.

So the young selkie sat in the sand in the shade of on of the tropical trees, sighing as the wind ruffled her long black hair and she watched the waves beating against the shore. She was homesick more than anything, but had a job to do. Soon she would be able to speak to the Queen, and fulfill her duties.

"How are you today Aeya? Almost healed?" Thamina asked as she walked up one of the sandy dunes of the beach. She had watched over the visitor as her health progressed and had become attached to her. Now with her looking off into the sea the healer knew that the girl would be leaving them soon. "Can you tell me of your home? I have never left the island myself."

Aeya looked up, stormy eyes gazing at the selkie as she smiled in welcome. "I am feeling much better today, thank you. It was my carelessnes that got me in such a predicament, but thank the Mother that you and my other sisters here were able to heal me." She patted the sand next to her to invite the older selkie to sit, "My home? It's much different than here, that's for sure." Her gaze drifted back out to the crystaline ocean, then beyond. "The waters are cold and dark, and there are huge ice flows that drift around like solid land. There are beautiful waterfalls and shimmering ice caves, and a lot of creatures that can't live here, because it is so warm. My sisters and the elders live in a deep cave that cuts throught the ice and deep into the land, keeping us warm with the heat of the earth. It's very dark most of the year, but so beautiful when the sun shines on the snow and ice." She sighed at the happy images.

Thamina closed her eyes and pictured the place that her young friend was describing. It made her yearn to go see it. "Does your home have many healers?" She asked knowing that even if she were allowed to go she may not adapt well but she wanted to see this other place and other sisters or cousins,,,whichever they were.

Aeya nodded, "We have a group of healers, and a group of hunters. I'm a hunter, one of the best." She smiled, "I brought back a bunch of fish the last hunting season." She said, wondering how her tribe was doing.

"That is a good thing. Your tribe must be very proud." Thamina said as she streached out a bit in the sun. "You'll be able to see the Queen soon. You are almost completely better. Maybe even later today if I can arrange it. I am sure you would appreciate that."

Aeya smiled, "I would apprisiate that greatly. I was foolish to try when I thought there was a storm coming." She sighed, digging her toes into the sand, "I don't wish to be rude but...have you lost many sisters to the humans?" She asked softly.
