"I'm afraid so." It wasn't entirely for Bandele's sake. They really did need to get the family together for the night, and with half of her daughters, three sons and three grandchildren that took a while. So, better to start early.
When Konya moved away from Bandele Hasana snatched him by the scruff of the neck and tossed him onto her back, at the same time explaining how Alake had gotten there.
"Yeah, we should go talk to Mama," Alake cooed. Oooh, that was so great! Surely her mother would approve if it was both of them! That was half her daughters! And Alake was first born, so she was more important.
The cub jumped to the ground gracefully and motioned with her head for her sister to follow. "Bye, Hasana, see you later!" The two scampered off and Bandele sighed the most heavy sigh in his young life.
"She'll forget by tomorrow, right?"
"I don't think so. Let me tell you a life lesson, Bandele: A female never forgets."
