FreeArsenal MickieCena Seigest and to answer the poll it was around the time the birth control pill was invented (1960's) there was a sexual revolution. The hippies had what they called free love, assuming that everyone was in love with everyone else. This lead to allot of huge oragies, eventually folks just lost the value of virginity. At least thats what i think happned All I know is that being a virgin became "overrated" when only 21% of women (I don't know about the men) were virgin brides. That' doesn't make it overrated... that just makes people into sour grapes. I meant that is what made it overrated in other peoples' minds. I don't think it is overrated, so that is why I put quotation marks around the word. I wouldn't say that. evil I think virginity is underrated. biggrin

Oh I got it all right, or at least I'm pretty sure I do, but what I was commenting on is the fact that you used that example to explain your point lol.

Yeah, I'd say 1920's as well.
Virginity was still prized by the christian foundation, but there were certainly a lot of flappers...
that's what that youthful lifestyle was about. Swing dancing (which actually came about during WW2, I think... a soldier's dance) and what have you... the big band music of the time...
it was all crazy. @_@;

And, truth be told, it can't be over rated if not enough people prize it. n_n
There are man whores out there looking for virgin wives *coughcoughverasteguicoughcough* because they ******** up when they were younger, or at least feel as if they did. D=
They can do whatever the hell they like, but they better not try to force their views on me. I'm a virgin for my own damned reasons, they're sleeping around for their own damned reasons.

Well, first of all, it's very possible those people were lying about being virgins. Some people say they've had sex but they just say it "to look cool". And honestly, I don't think it's ever left. As a society we've become more open about sex, but I don't think the idea of being a virgin has become "overrated".
More and more people nowadays are starting to accept everything and everyone: whether it be your sexual preference, how you treat your body, whatever it is you decide to do to your life.

I'm pretty sure Sarah wasn't lying her and her supposed "boyfriend" Ross have stripped down to their undergarments in my upstairs bathroom if I hadn't of unlocked the door when I did...I don't wanna know what they would've pulled >>; sadly...that did not stop me from learning what an erection looked like that day gonk

I don't think that being a virgin is overated, but that kids people begin to think that it is because they think that nobody is a virgin anymore. Which that is a lie.
