This is my favorite Johnny Depp movie... although I was terrified of it as a child. The movie literally creeped me out - probably because his hands were scissors. I was only able to re-watch it in the past two years, and it actually made me cry. I realized what a sad story it was... and Edward's innocence broke my heart. It still makes me teary-eyed. crying redface

It's my favourite Johnny movie! It's so sad because he looks so cute and everyone in the movie thinks he's a monster and he's evil.....if I were in that movie I would become friends with him, and then take him home and we'd live happily every after biggrin

Edward Scissorhands is one of my favourite movies. It's really depressing though, at the end at least. I mean, look at him! He was so innocent and everything.

The best, I think, of Tim Burton's movies, besides Nightmare Before Christmas. I have a shirt with Edward on it. It says "Incomplete and All Alone". I love it.

Edward Scissorhands is one of the most beautiful fairytales ever made. I love everything about it ; the atmosphere, the music, the acting and so on. With some movies I've loved as a child I can forget that I'm now a literature student (I can't really enjoy movies and books anymore, because I tend to analyze them too much) and just let the movie sweep me away to some weird fairytaleland. Edward Scissorhands is one of those movies

I saw the movie as I was only a kid, so I can't remember it very well.. I just know that I found it sad, and I didn't like the end... I think I didn't like that the only reason it snows in the town is because he makes those ice things... But I would probably change my opinion if I saw the movie again.

Well, here was an art project I did last year.

As you can see, I included Edward, but after reccently seeing the film, I see how miserable it is! I should have watched it before I drew him, but it's too late now.

I think I will include more pieces of him in my art.

That is an awesome picture. i mean it so holds the darkness that Edward Scissor Hands so brought to the screen from Tim Burton's stand point and much more. Awesome !!!.

I have a neighbour exactly like that Esmeralda person. She's told me I'm going to hell at least eighteen times in the past month. SHe's even got the weird little stutter. I was sitting out on my front porch with my laptop, writing, and she walks straight up to me and out of the blue, starts spitting hellfire and brimstone at me. "REPENT AND BE SAVED!!!" I asked her what I was supposed to be repenting of, and she looks at me like I'm some sort of idiot. "The darkness in your heathen soul," she replies, and walks away.
I bought her a copy of Edward Scissorhands and left it on her front porch, along with a pointed note. She retalliated by leaving me a copy of the King James Bible, and a videotape of some TV evangelist or another. I watched it, for kicks, and decided it was so funny I invited several friends over to watch it with me. We got a little drunk and decided we were going to pull the 'demon in teh window' thing on her. The da** bush turned out looking more like a rabbit than a demon, though. But we didnt' get caught, which is the really important thing.... I still get fits of giggles when I think about that.

I had never seen this movie before I bought it tonight. I was too young when it came out, and my mother would never let me watch it when it was on TV, claiming it was "stupid". I took her opinion as my own, being the child I was...

But now that I've seen it...wow. What a sad, sad movie. I can say that I have never, ever cried over a movie before - I was the horrible kid who laughed when Bambi's mom got shot and whatnot. But I'm still crying even as I type this. How powerful is that?

I think this is the best performance I have ever seen from Johnny Depp. His innocence and charm was phenomonal, although I loved it when he got upset and tore up the drapes and the wallpaper. Puncturing the car tire was funny too. But it was amazing, how the people all loved him at first, and then the stories started getting wilder and wilder, and then they all thought he was a demon.

Beautiful story.

By the way, was anyone else TERRIFIED of that thing at the bottom of the stairs in Edward's mansion? The thing that looked like a scarecrow? eek That thing scared the crap out of me everytime I saw it.
