Mahna moved towards the bar, reactivating the power of his card to take his human form. "M'aya. Why are bounty hunters after you?" He asked softly, mounting his blade back onto his back. He noted the entrance of 2 women as they spoke to the barmaid, but found them to be of no large threat.

Dorothy turned when she heard her name. She saw Bronwyn and gasped, "What the bloody hell happened to you? Did you...Oh don't tell me you tried to do it on your own."

Bronwyn gave out a raspy laugh.
"No, I am not that arrogant. I met with some operatives in the alleyway and they were...miffed at me, apparently. I lost my compass." She finished tiredly. "Don't suppose you have a room I could use? Or better, a healing potion?"

She looked around, making sure nobody was within earshot "A few years ago, must be five or six now, I came to work for a rather wealthy man up in Gallin, never really liked the guy but the pay was good and work had been scarce" May'a sighed and mumbled under her breath, sipping a drink one of the barmaids had dropped off before she continued her story "He was setting up to move a bunch of high class magic users, now they were good people, real nice folk all of them, so anyways, me and a hand full of other strong-arms like me were to get them to this cave system up north, they didn't talk about the cave much till we were well on our way, and even after that it was not the kind of stuff I understand" She lowered her voice "Something happened up there, everybody else was asleep, but something drew me into those caves, the wealthy man was up to something in them, something I had a bad feeling about. After that things get a bit fuzzy, next thing I knew I was stuck up a tree half way back to Gallin, not to long after I came upon bounty posters with my face on them. Friend of a friend, weird old witch, told me he was trying to steal something that should never be put in the hands of men, a piece of it escaped to me, he wants it back."

"I see." Mahna responded gingerly, fleeting his eyes around the tavern. The mess had completely been cleaned up, and any newcomers would not even suspect that a drunken war had been raged in this very building only minutes ago. "So what do we have to do to relieve you of your burden?" He asked firmly, taking a drink from the barmaid and nodding his thanks.

"You'll have to wait on the healing but you can go sleep in my room. You know which it is right? I have the night shift so I won't need it. Plus I have to work over at the bread shop in the morning, so it's all yours," Dorothy said pouring up a glass of water. "Drink this up first. You look like your about to die." Dorothy pushed the glass to her,"I told you that you should start carrying something easy to use." Dorothy motioned down to where her daggers lied under her skirt. "Also I might have another compass somewhere in my room. I'll check when I go to change if you want."

Bronwyn smiled and took the drink.
"Thanks, Dorothy." She said after taking a long drink. Warmth rushed into her fingers and down her throat, nearly painfully. She glanced around the room out of habit, making sure there was no threat. Her eyes fell on her savior-of-sorts, and she gave a sigh. "Oh, Dorothy this is Salyf, by the way. Take care of her for me, will you? She helped me out back there." She nodded to Salyf. "You have my gratitude, friend. Now if you two don't mind, I think I am going to go sleep." She nodded to the pair of them and shakily made her way across the room to the rooms upstairs.

Dorothy watched Bronwyn as she left. Once she was gone she turned to face Salyf."Nice to meet you. I'm Dorothy, barmaid, fish seller, bread maker, and jewelry apprentice."

((So sorry for not being active... My computer has been raided by viruses.))
Salyf pulled at the ends of her hair, discreetly checking to make sure her hood was over her head, then shot a sidelong glance at the other groups of people in the tavern. "Erm, nice to meet you too. I'm Salyf... Uh, I don't have a current occupation right now, other than staying out of trouble, but it's already too late for that." The strong odors of liquor made her nose sting, making her lift her hand to cover it. Salyf covered this act by yawning. "Sorry. Um... Does Bronwyn usually cause... trouble? 'Cause it seems like you know each other well."
Salyf sighed. She knew that staying cooped up in a secluded village was trouble, and now she had a hard time trying to get used to the city life. She mentally calculated how much money she had left and how much she needed to earn. That meant getting a job, and there was hardly one that suited her, unless there was a job suddenly appeared where she could go adventuring and get loads of cash at the same time. Her ears pricked at the story of a cave and a wealthy man. She made the mistake of turning to the direction of the faint voice and was a second too slow in turning her attention back to Dorthy.

Dorothy looked at her for a moment,"Browyn? No way usually she just ends up finding trouble. Or it finds her. Most the time it starts when she starts listening to other people's conversations."Dorothy tried to hint to Salyf about listening in."If you need a job I can find you one. I've worked just about everywhere in this town."

"Hm." Salyf nodded absentmindedly. She didn't need to get a job just yet, but it wouldn't hurt to have back up cash. At least gold was universal. "Thanks for your help." She added. "Do you mind if I also have a room? Er... I can still pay for one, I think."

Dorothy shook her head,"No way. Any friend of Browyn's is a friend of mine. Just make sure the room is clean when you leave. I'll check for a job for you when I go to the market tommorrow." She reached behind the cabniet and handed her a key,"Room 25. It's two rooms from mine so you should be good."

Bronwyn finally made it up to Dorothy's room and closed the door firmly behind her.
She walked over to the dresser, where a basin of water lay, and started carefully taking off her fingerless gloves to expose a myriad of tiny cuts from the compass's glass. She pulled out the glass shards and washed out her hand. She took off her shoes and laid her weapons within easy reach before collapsing into bed. She laid her injured hand on her stomach so as to not get any blood on her friend's sheets. Within moments, she was sound asleep.

"She didn't know... Mahna, where is it you are going?" she asked while staring down the glass in front of her.

Ishod arose from bed.
"Wha?" he yawned and then stretched. HE hadn't slept for very long, but it was enough to keep him going for a while (he trained himself to only needing a few hours sleep) He got up from his bed and grabbed his backpack, shuffling it on before looking in the borken mirror in his room. He didn't see anything.
That was strange, he thought, turning away, must be a trick mirror.
That's when he heard the glass shattered and in eerie high-pitched roar come from the mirror...
Then he woke up, panting, unsure of what to think, he never had a nightmare before.
