"Oh... Oh, stranger. Stranger, stranger. Stranger, danger." Rosinweed mumbled quietly, but grew progressively louder, then looked over Falchior.

"You, come. Come now." She fluffed up and shifted her wings, then motioned with them as if attempting to make him hurry up. She sounded rather demanding, but hesitated for a moment. She added something that was almost foreign to her, save for when she spoke to Sequoia. "Please."

Falchior hopped over to Rosinweed as fast as he could. "Are you going to come up, too? Probably a good idea; I don't want you to have to rearrange your sticks if I mess it up." He fluffed himself, then smoothed his feathers. For once, he'd done a good job at Gathering! "I'm ready to go if you are."

"Ready, yes? Good, go. Coming." She stated in fragments and motioned iwth her wing again before lifting off of the perch. At first, she was hesitant, then shot off like a rocket. She dodged and weaved between the few trees of her territory. She always worried about being caught, so speed flying and weaving in sporratic patterns were her attempt to keep from ending up in the Sky Fiend's clutches.

She came to rest in the center tree and clucked her beak anxiously as she looked back at Falchior. "Careful!" She called out loudly. "Don't let It, don't, don't let get you!"

Oof! These sticks were HEAVY! Falchior staggered under their weight, zigzagging vertically through the air. "Don't worry; I don't think it could see me under these sticks..." He thought for a moment. "That's the point, isn't it? I don't think it could lift me, either. Maybe you should get a pack and keep sticks in it... like a mobile stick pile," he called up. If she was so afraid of this thing, maybe a pack might help. Watching her fly made him dizzy, so he focused on her actual trajectory and tried to ignore her patterns as much as he could.

"Could help, maybe, yes, gotta fly. Gotta fly FAST. Can't let it, heavy, eat me." She mumbled as she hopped closer to the trunk of the old tree. Sticks were hanging from every spot imaginable. They were stacked everywhere and made the tree look much larger and thicker than it actually was.

Falchior blinked at the sight of the tree. It was huge! Or were those just sticks? Upon close examination, they were sticks. "Where do you want these go go, Miss Rosinweed? You tell me, and I'll fly there, and then you can get the stick out and put it exactly where you want it." There was something appealing about the chaos of the tree, really. The patterns he kept seeing out of the corners of his eyes made his head spin a little, and all the different colors weren't unattractive together. He liked this microforest of a tree, he really did. "You... you have a nice tree, Miss Rosinweed."

"Nice? Good, nice? Odd... Yes, useful nice." Rosinweed rambled quietly and preened a chestfeather anxiously. "Up more... Hmm, here, please." She lifted into the air and cautiously skirted about the massive girth of her tree. She settled on a higher branch and inspected each and every spot thoroughly.

"Here? Stick here, nice, leaves, good." She asked quietly and thoughtfully.

Rokku landed near the spot Rosinweed indicated. Turning his head back, he breifly eyed his pack's contents. A slender stick with many branching leaves and twigs caught his eye, and he pulled it out and gently placed it for Rosinweed's inspection. "I think this will work here."

"Good. Double plus good." Rosinweed praised quietly and lifted into the air, taking Falchior to to her next drop point.

Sequoia had been awaiting some response from the other Sentinel, but the stranger seemed to have too much concentration on the beetle that when Sequoia flew up slowly to their branch to get their attention, the beetle and the Sentinel both passed by him without notice, forcing him to back up and then fly to another branch as he nearly fell off. About to make another attempt, he noticed everyone had fled. In fact, as he turned his head all around, the entire group had flown back.

Deeming that the hungry stranger was just….well, a hungry stranger, who was only a risk if their gullet was never-ending and they devoured all of Noctua. Deciding that he best be off to be with his friends, (It wasn’t much of a visit when he visited strangers instead of the person you intended to visit.) and not liking the sensation of being both ignored and alone, he took off. Sequoia’s flight was fast, for a Artisan. He wasn’t a Hunter or Scout, so he did not have that practiced speed, and he often felt he liked gliding. Still, his flight was more a steady rise and fall, and this case, as fast as he could muster. When he reached the branch, he was out of breath from beating here with al his will. He liked to show Rosinweed that he took her fear seriously so when she rushed off as if her life depended on it, he’d follow in the same fashion. It was actually exciting at times, as if each second, each flight, was to be cherished to live. ..and if there was one thing Sequoia cherished, it was life.

Upon arriving, he looked up and about and noticed that Rosin and Falchior had moved up to start filling in the spots that Rosinweed believed to be weak points in her protection. Turning, he flapped up and returned, though found it strange to not be the one filling in the spots this time around. Instead, as to make room and not be in the way, Sequoia stood behind them, making room for when Falchior pulled out a stick and enough for Rosinweed to point out where she wanted things. Unsure and unsue to the situation, Sequoia moved back to one foot and the other, shifting his weight.

He felt a bit somber and felt a glimmer of a threat in the idea that, as much as he professed to have Rosinweed return to the Sentinel that was ‘normal’, curious, adventurous, and talked with other Sentinels, he did feel conflicted. “Do you need any help?

Upon Sequioa's return, the paranoid young Watcher hopped nearer to him. The branch of berries that he had given her was still with her, hovering by the use of her Will, so her beak was free.

"Odd..." She whispered the single word softly, as to keep Falchior from hearing her. She was doing well to speak with him and instruct him, but her frightened golden eyes portrayed all of the mistrust she felt for all sentinels. She had experienced her share of cruelty for her strange and eccentric behaviors. She was not aggressive and she would not defend herself from others. Staying away from the Above was her main goal in life. Staying away from the Above and spending time with Sequoia.

She seemed to pick up on his discomfort almost immediately and her eartufts flattened. She stood on a single foot and clentched the bark with her sharp talons, her beak clacked anxiously as she did this. She didn't like it when her dearest friend was uncomfortable, which had made their first few visits after the incident very awkward.

"Why? ... Strange... Odd... Scared..." She added in her usual broken dialect, but retained a whisper.

Just as sensitive to her environment, Rosin picked up on other Sentinel’s personalities and inward worries as easily as Sequoia could and though she could not decipher there behind it, Sequoia was basically an open door as he wore his emotions on his shoulders. He had not lived to guard them and had little practice in guarding them. Feeling in a slight spotlight, Sequoia adjusting his footing again, a nervous habit aside from his stuttering, and shook his head. “It’s nothing. Really. Just over thinking things. I’m glad you’re making friends, Rosin. With all the help, people will be lining up to help collect sticks. Maybe everyone is finally seeing how much amazing craft you have in your system. It might catch on. You could start a trend in Noctua.” He said, playing on an imagitive rant. In honesty, he wondered how popular Rosin could get. He liked the idea of her becoming more friendly to others, or more so, more people being friendly to her, but he wondered in the grand scheme of things if such a thing happened, if he would miss being the sole visitor. It just seemed to make things special. Then again, he had the luxury to go out and talk to many people and he never had the time to be constantly visiting. It would do good to have Rosinweed see and be visited by more people than just himself. He was being selfish and he knew it.

Feeling guilty to that fact, he gave a heartfelt smile to Rosin. “Come. I think he missed a spot.” He said, usher Rosin and her worries away to focus on the tree and picking up a stick out of Falchior’s pack and looking to her, waiting to help. He’d be his best to make Falchior see that Rosinweed was enjoyable company and spur another visit. Maybe, in the far future, they could work together and bring Rosinweed away from her tree and to meet other Sentinels. To go back to when she was that happy and carefree, even adventurous female that would fly with Lilly.

"Thank you!" Falchior said, glad of the other male's help. He really felt unsure of himself around this tree. It was incredibly sturdy, and he knew that he could never do anything to damage it, but he couldn't shake the aching fear that one one wrong move would send everything crashing to the ground. However, the tree was beautifully constructed, if not the most aesthetically pleasing in all of Noctua. He noticed that some of the leaves on the sticks were dry and withered, and he nipped them off with his beak. Hmm. This thing would look much nicer with the dead leaves gone and fresh green leafy branches brought up to replace them. "Y'know, Miss Rosinweed," he mused. "I think next time we should snap all the brown leaves off and bring up only sticks with big green leaves. That'd make the tree look nicer... and be better camouflage. It'd blend in more with the rest of the forest, make it harder to see." He nodded sagely. "Also, it'd provide more shade during the day. Or do you like the brown leaves?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:33 pm

"Both good. Green is a favorite... Brown is a favorite, too, but not as much of a favorite... But still good! Brown is good, too." She rambled on about the browns and greens. She added fresh leaves when possible, but keeping them like that all across the tree was next to impossible. She would be most thankful for any help, though she still couldn't shake her frightened feeling.

But Sequoia was there. He made things better.

"Ok. Both are good. We'll leave the brown up, but let's fill in some spaces with more green next time, okay? I'll know what to look for, then." Falchior paused, struck dumb by his major faux pas. "That is... is it ok for me to come back next time? I know I wasn't invited this time, but I feel like I need to be here now, as reparation for my Companion's behavior. But this tree... it's... not even a crafter could make something this big this well... I'd be honored if I could come back and help you with it, Miss Rosinweed."
