"I can hear you just fine, so apparently other's aren't listening well enough." he grinned while also keeping his eyes forward, before noticing the mare's eyes upon the sky. At least the sky was beautiful today, and that was probably a nice sight for her to take in and see. "It'd be nice if we were flying, wouldn't it? But I guess I should always be thankful that my legs work." Hey, walking was better then nothing, right?
Fair's words were a bit surprising to Huojin, since he assumed she would find his words as pathetic. Here he was, ranting to someone he didn't know. He assumed she'd given up on him at this point! He wasn't acting very manly at all.. but maybe Farsiris didn't mind that sort of thing? "I suppose we would all be boring.. though I am probably boring you now as is!" he chuckled slightly, while trying to hide his initial embarrassment. "I'll just have to figure out what shell suits me best.." hm, and that would take awhile, wouldn't it?
"I did throw many questions at you, and I apologize." When he thought about it, this added on to the list of the few apologies he made. "I just need to learn how to become myself, maybe I am jealous that you are so composed and comfortable." He liked to think as if he knew everything about his emotions, but he was far from understanding himself. Maybe he should stop thinking so much? When he did think, like now, he brought more discomfort to those around him!
"Because I doubt I have grown at all." Glancing back at the mare, Huojin just stared for a moment before speaking again. "Heh, I really am silly, aren't I? I suppose I got comfortable in this setting, and with the conversation we were having before. I didn't mean for this to turn into a complex situation." Farsiris didn't deserve that, and he knew it.

"I am afraid of heights," Farsiris chuckled at his reference to flight and shook her head as she turned her eyes briefly up to the sky for a few more moments. Yes, her uncle, her guardian and her companion looked truly amazing when they soared across the sky but it was not for her...she favoured that wondrous feeling of escape simply from running.
"But perhaps it is not wise for you to jump to conclusions?" She offered it as a gentle suggestion, had she been bored she would have found a polite manner of dismissing herself. However, the more he spoke the more intrigued she became by his bizarre behaviour and his somewhat uncertain manner. While he was a sight to behold, well built and a beauty to the eye it was almost as though he didn't feel it?
...Perhaps it was just her, who knew?
"Hiding underneath a shell though - that's no good," she shook her head and smiled a little more. "The family I grew up with always encouraged me to be myself, faults and all because then creatures know what they are getting instead of finding a surprise later down the line they can't bear..." It was a subtle reference to her own quirks and her own shyness. In crowds she struggled, began to lose all sense and could barely breathe - she had heard that most soquili down here like crowds and that rather scared her...
Such irony that he called her composed at all!
"You will find the friends you make will love you for who you are and not what they perceive you to be if you're true, even if you secretly have a terrible temper," her tone had a touch of teasing to it and as she brushed her tail against her flank she released a quiet sigh. "Although I have to say there is nothing wrong with being silly."
"And complex?" She paused for a few moments, her expression somewhat uncertain as though she was unsure if the words were appropriate for present company.
"I always liked puzzles," she confessed hesitantly.

"Yet you LIVE in the mountains?! My gosh, that is a surprise! Not that its a bad thing, though." He chuckled to himself, since he would have never have guessed that from the mare! She just kept on getting more interesting by the second. "Even if you are afraid of heights, your still brave for living up in the mountains. Maybe it is a relief to be down here for a bit then?" No crazy edges to look off of, and no birds flying so close to the vicinity. Hopefully she liked that.
He liked that she went into some detail about herself, and he smiled before commenting on her words. "Your family sounds great! I've always wondered what a family like that would be like, no wonder you are much wiser then me!" She'd had great help, and Huojin was somewhat jealous. "Real friends, eh?" he sighed quietly, while raising his eyes to her own. "Do you have real friends? I'm afraid I'm not sure what that's like!" There he went again, admitting such silly things to her. But that part was true, maybe even too truthful. "I'll probably be silly even if others aren't my true friends or whatever, since I like to try and be natural when I can."
Fair was most definitely natural, she wasn't hiding anything at all. He was observing this nature of hers, wondering how he could make himself better. To be like this mare, would mean being different? Or maybe not? He wondered if his mind was playing tricks on him.
"What kind of puzzles?" he then asked, with a surprised expression. "Do you make your own puzzles? Or do other creatures like me provide you with that entertainment!" he chuckled then, while shaking his head.

There he went with his questions again! She smiled faintly at his remarks and permitted him to talk further as she absorbed each question and mulled over the words in her head. In a way, he had a point about how strange it was for her to live on the slopes but to her it was slightly more complex than that - to her the slopes weren't flat or particularly daunting.
"Well..." she hesitated briefly and took a breath as she pulled the first answer into the forefront of her mind. She felt it was necessary to explain her peculiarities. She wasn't sure why but to be understood was something she deemed very important - being misunderstood led to pain, suffering and conflict which she really didn't want with this stallion. He was a fascinating creature and to make him dislike her would ruin that special interest she had found in him.
She would lose the opportunity to solve the puzzle he presented!
"When you live on the mountains from when you are little they seem flat," she shook her head to shift the hair from her eyes and continued. "It is only when I find a cliff face that I panic, I try to avoid them as best I can," she was cautious in that regard, she memorized her trails and stuck to them to avoid accidents...she wouldn't fall off a cliff face like her aunt had. "But when the birds swoop near your ears there's something very beautiful about it..."
"Perhaps one day you will see?" She smiled more pleasantly as she relaxed once again and addressed his questions. It was difficult to answer them in what some might consider an appropriate way but she would be honest as she had been raised to be. "I have many real friends but not all of them are Soquili," she replied after a slight pause. "It's a very nice experience to have them tease and play with you, but they are there when you need them most."
That support was invaluable.
"As for puzzles, it is interesting creatures such as you that provide those puzzles for me to solve."

He was quiet as he listened to her explanation, and he wiggled his ears a bit as she mentioned a bird swooping down. Her experience sounded pleasant, and it was more pleasant then Huojin would have imagined. "Alright, well you do have a point about it sounding nice." he then said, while still looking ahead. "You've convinced me enough to definitely try it someday, I only hope I can be half as brave as you are." She DID live on a mountain for gosh sakes, and in Huojin's mind that was remarkable enough. "But it sounds like the companionship you have at home is lovely." he then remarked, while thinking about what she meant since some of them weren't Soquili. She must have meant the animals or something, since Huojin had seen that interaction before as a colt. He could just imagine the mare laughing with other creatures, and the thought was incredibly peaceful in his mind.
"I provide puzzles? Well I'm glad I provide something valuable of that sort." What was puzzling about him? In his own mind he was simple enough, but his appearance made him more then average he supposed. He never knew if that was a good thing or a bad thing. "Any puzzlement that I may have had about you is all gone, since you so kindly explained yourself." The mare was incredibly open through the whole conversation, and he had hoped that he was responding with the same kindness and patience.
But, at the current moment, his mind was overtaken with a view just ahead of them. "Oh! There is an awesome amount of flower beds up ahead. I wonder if some of the flowers you see will be different then what lives up on the mountains." With a usual smile, he strode forward at faster pace while escorting the mare to an area he did love. Maybe they would see some animals resting about, so the mare could make more friends or acquaintances. "Its a pretty popular area for most Soquili, since there is a stream that runs through the area. I tend to come here a lot to rest or think."

Oh! Well Farsiris had been told long ago to be careful of how much information she gave to another individuals. Certain creatures could use it to their advantage and not all were pleasant - thus, to have them know every little thing could be a danger to the mare. Unfortunately, Farsiris had never been able to pull that off and given her nature she was often more open - it was hard to explain but she preferred to follow her instincts and more often than not she opted to trust the creature she spoke with.
And Huojin? He seemed very nice to her.
Nevertheless, before she could respond to his comment about her willingness to speak of herself so freely, he was already caught up in something that lay ahead. It was a short trot away from them, flower beds if she had heard him correctly and she was certain that his assumptions were correct. There were many flowers on the mountain tops in spring but they were small to protect themselves from cold snaps - down here, who knew!
A smile soon lined her lips and with a delicate whicker she thrust herself forward into a comfortable trot to pursue her guide towards the flowers...it was simply an added bonus if other creatures and soquili would be found upon arrival. Honestly, she was perfectly content to remain in this stallion's company for a little longer - he had turned out to be quite the tour guide and he was rather good at conversation.
It made a change from what she was accustomed to.

Once Huojin had led the mare to the area he desired, he felt relieved at how busy the grove actually was! In the distance were all sorts of families playing together, or Soquili just resting on their own. It must have been nice for Farsiris to see it for herself. "Heh, seems like everyone had the same idea today. We are only adding on to their party." The stallion then nosed at the ground a bit, since dozens of flowers had appeared by his hoof. "Or maybe to the flower's party.."
As Huojin had always noticed, there were quite a lot of flowers. The grove was popular because it had many smells, and a nice breeze seemed to flow through it every once so often. Plus, others seemed to like the area as well, and in Huojin's mind that must have meant it was good. For the next few moments, he remained rather quiet, since he wanted the mare to experience the area for herself. There was a lot to see, and he didn't want to distract her.
It was also good knowing that no dangerous Soquili were around, and that must have been why all of the others in the distance were so comfortable in their surrounding.

She had seen Groves before but the flowers were so small in comparison the ones that existed here. The lack of nutrients in the mountain soils and the hard conditions caused the flowers to be small on the slopes but she hardly knew of this. She had always assumed that the flowers simply preferred to hug the ground for warmth against the chilly winds instead. Nevertheless, a light smile did form on her lips as she observed her surroundings and took a few steps forward.
She first took the sheer number of soquili in, having never experienced such a gathering she found the entire situation rather strange. The giggling, the smiles and the chatter surrounding her were not something she was accustoemd to. Yes, she had chattered within her own family but it had never been so busy or...entertaining. While the adult soquili seemed more relaxed it seemed that the tiny babes simply couldn't sit still!
"Oh my," she murmured softly, turning to glance at Huojin as her smile grew. "I never realised it was so busy!" she confessed before releasing a small chuckle, "They all seem so happy."
"...Is it the flowers?"

Her reaction was amusing to him, and he only confidently smiled as he watched her observe the area. He couldn't tell if she liked it or not, but she at least seemed highly amused by it all. At least he could show her SOMETHING unique, since Soquili were everywhere on a pretty day!
"It could be the flowers." he then said, while sniffing at one himself. "But many seem to enjoy a big social scene, since it allows for their children to play safely and easily. I'm not really in to seeing that many soquili at once, but its definitely interesting to visit from afar." The last time he tried socializing with a number of soquili made his head hurt, and he didn't want to try such an idea again. There were too many individuals trying to understand him or something, and most of them proved to be annoying anyways!
"Places that hold water are usually more crowded then this." he then admitted, while shaking his head slowly. "Its hard to swim somewhere peacefully with so many people bickering back and forth! That's why I go on excursions to find my own secret areas. That way I can rest and enjoy the days for what they are." He didn't seem to get along with a lot of soquili, so he spent his time usually by himself. "So I'm guessing it doesn't get as crowded as this on the mountains?" he chuckled quietly, before looking back upon the scene.

She liked it, she really did but that shy side of her caused her to hesitate. When it came to crowds she really didn't excel and lacked social skills, on many occasions. She would sooner that she hide behind someone much more chatty than herself, any excuse to take the limelight away from her so that she could smile, laugh and observe those around her without any uncomfortable stares or conversations.
That being said, the opportunity he had presented her with was truly a lovely one. Having never had the opportunity to see quite so many soquili in one area, she could only marvel at how each conversed and how each tiny foal played. It hadn't been so long ago that she was the size of those foals but she was fairly certain she was a damn sight more clumsy!
"There aren't that many soquili in the mountains," she confirmed after a few moments, turning round to smile at the stallion as he tried to explain the reason behind the vast number of soquili in the area. What he said was logical and made sense, though she had been raised in such a protected environment that 'evil' and 'threat' didn't really enter her vocabulary often.
Nevertheless, as he mentioned that he was somewhat antisocial and preferred to explore on her own she couldn't help but sense a tiny kindred spirit within him. He seemed so flamboyant in comparison to her and yet he favoured solitude on occasions? This made her smile just a little more and she glanced down at her hooves for a time - was it appropriate for her to ask what she wanted to?
Well, there was no harm in trying.
"Perhaps some day you will be kind enough to show me one of your less secretive hiding places?" She didn't mean to pry, but often the hidden groves and pools turned out to be the most enchanting. "Of course I understand if this is intruding, you do not have to accept!" She added hurridly.

Huojin wasn't taken aback at all by the mare's question about his hiding spots, and he only glanced at her with a usual playfulness that he had shown her before. "No need to worry, I'd be happy to show you them whenever you'd like." he would admit, he was trying to impress her by showing a large scene of sorts. But the mare seemed more interested in his own safe havens, and that surprised him a lot! "I mean, I can show you one now if you want. There is still a good amount of sunlight in the day, and once it gets darker I can escort you back towards the mountains." Luckily, they still had some nice time.
He was hoping he wasn't boring her, and it was worth a shot to ask what she would rather do. "I want to make sure you are comfortable and entertained, and are you either of those?" It was probably an odd way of phrasing the question, but he didn't care. She was probably used to his silly social ways at this point, since she had put up with him for a large portion of the day!
"Hm there is one place around here that has a small pond with these really fat fish in them that I usually hang around. The fish are so funny, I think they eat all day. I think a lot of people avoid it since it is super shady and quiet, and you have to walk through a lot of trees to get there. I tend to wander off a lot and I always find the prettiest areas." he paused then, since he was ranting as usual. "So, it can be whatever you'd like to do." he then nodded politely, before glancing at the mare. "You get to pick, since it is your day to relax and have fun." Plus, he was indecisive.

He was very difficult to phase, in a way he was somewhat similar to her companion on the slopes. Admittedly, Ambroise was decidedly less talkative and never smiled but he also wasn't insulted by the questions she chose to ask. If Farsiris was honest, Huojin's acceptance of her questions and requests made her feel significantly more comfortable than she could have anticipated...it made her realise that perhaps her mentor had been right.
...Not everything outside of the slopes was bad.
Really, Farsiris couldn't complain at all about the company and experiences she had so far. Huojin had taken careful measures to be so very pleasant to her and seemed intent on ensuring that she enjoyed herself! Really, no one had ever been so accomodating towards her and while she had never deemed it necessary it was a very pleasant experience. She was truly thankful for it but wasn't entirely certain of how to express such gratitude without sounding inappropriately affectionate - if that was the right way to put it.
Instead, she reverted back to her shy self and offered a slight smile as he dismissed her 'worries' and continued with further offers of guided tours and additional sights. She coloured underneath her fur, flicking her eyes upwards as she attempted to adapt to how courteous he really was being - really, he didn't have to let her pick everything and he didn't have to make sure she was comfortable either!
"Of course," she replied after a few moments, shaking her head and releasing a small chuckle as he confirmed her comfort. "And the pond sounds lovely, I don't see many fish where I come from..."

Every time Farsiris said something new, Huojin felt a huge light bulb go on in his mind. She hadn't seen many fish!? Well damn, he just had to take her now! Her oh-so polite way of reacting to his ideas was seriously too cute for him to handle, and at this point he would just have to continue to give her a good time. How could a mare be so relaxed and composed, and also never complain!? He just didn't understand it, he complained all the time. "Alright, then let's head there!" he then said, while feeling flustered in his thoughts. My, why was he so different from her? Was he faking in front of her to keep her impressed? Up until this point he had felt very relaxed, but now he was incredibly flustered. Maybe the mare should understand the way he really was, and know he carried many flaws on his back. Many flaws.
As they were walking the opposite direction on a similar path, Huojin kept his head somewhat lowered, since he just couldn't understand the mare's happiness. Maybe the mountains made her so nice and awesome? Or maybe it was just her that made her that way. "I... I know I've said some strange interventions through our journeys together. But I feel like I haven't been honest with you, I dunno, since I was trying to be so polite this whole time."
As they continued to walk, he finally had the courage to bring his eyes on hers, but only shortly, since he took them away once she looked at him. "I'm not like you, I'm not as positive and kind and happy. Truthfully I am still trying to find ways to be happy... like earlier I felt really happy when we were just exploring like we were and laughing. But I.." he paused, and crinkled his snout somewhat. "I think I'm actually really negative, and critical, and impulsive... and I didn't want to hurt your feelings if the angry me came out somehow.." but still, how could he feel angry, when the mare made him so comfortable?
"I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry, in advance." Heh, he must have sounded idiotic at this point. Insecurity was an awful thing, and he was terrible at dealing with it. "I think that you may be my first friend real friend, like a real important friend, and I can't deal with the thought of messing that up." Besides, any other relationship he had ever had failed, so why should this one? He couldn't let that happen, no matter what.
"Maybe.. maybe you can teach me to be as positive as you?" he then proposed, while lowering his ears a bit. "I'm happy to show you ponds, and fish.. but maybe you can help me figure out happiness a little bit?" Or maybe she already had, and that wasn't his problem? Huojin was trying so hard to piece everything together. When he was happy and not thinking, like earlier, he felt like a different individual. But when he was criticizing himself, he felt like nothing compared to her. What the hell was going on?

His sudden change in personality did surprise her at first, but as he continued to speak she permitted herself to smile softly and shake her head. She wasn't always optimistic and could have a moments of negativity but generally they were few and far between. She could only assume that her behaviour and manners might have affected his view of her - maybe soquili down here were more abrasive?
She didn't know.
It was part of the reason she had come down from the slopes. Her mentor and surrogate mother had encouraged her to explore. Granted, Yei was aware of her shyness but wise and with method behind her own madness the fiery mare had long since come to the conclusion that her 'daughter' needed a little more social interaction. Mayhaps growing up with Yei had been the reason for some of her optimism.
Nevertheless the more he spoke the more confused and frustrated he sound. It came to the point where Farsiris had come to the conclusion that she really should say something to make him feel better. She was young though (unfortunately) and words of wisdom were not easily sprung from her lips at a moments notice. So, for a while she continued to trail after him and remained quiet as she mulled over the appropriate thing to say in return.
He didn't want to upset her and he was apologising for nothing, really it was terribly confusing.
"If everyone was the same the world would be a very boring and plain place," she had heard that somewhere, probably not from her mother but from another of her furry friends. "Conversation would run dry because soquili would spend all the hours of the day agreeing on the same thing, there would be no debate...no progress."
"It is okay to be negative sometimes, soquili with negativity can sometimes see what the bubbly and blind optimist cannot," She wasn't speaking from experience in regards to her own life but it was another tidbit of information she'd received from the grapevine. "If you are just trying to be polite and happy to make me feel comfortable you don't have to, I came to meet real soquili and if you say this is not you then be yourself."
"Really, if you shout at me then I'm sure I will have done something to deserve it anyway!" She smiled pleasantly and arched a brow. She wasn't going to push her luck but really she had come to the conclusion that he was being far too critical off himself. His laughter and his jests had seemed genuine - there was bound to be a reason for his insecurity but it wasn't her place to pry. Instead she would do what any friend would do, she would be there until he did figure it out.
To her he was a kind stallion, a stallion who wasn't wouldn't have been so accomodating to be polite and that was something she knew from experience.

The mare's cheerful composure was just too much for Huojin, and after her words he could only smile graciously. He was quiet for a few moments, only because the mare had a way of always making him feel better. He really had no idea how she did it, and he continuously felt flustered by her ability to help him increase his confidence and sense of self. When he had confidence, he wasn't even sure how to react or respond. Even like right right, he didn't even feel like himself. But that was a common feeling anyways...
"Once again, you've graced me with your advice again." Heh, she was a magic maker he guessed. "Now that I think about it, I don't think its possible for me to ever yell at you." Strange.. but true. "Your too considerate and kind, if I yelled at you then I would really be committing a sin."
Then again, his negativity could be a sin in itself. "I guess I was only apologizing in advance since I felt like I needed too.. I dunno, its something I always did with my brother you know?" he gazed his eyes forward, and was glad to see that they were still on the right path. At least they were almost at his famed destination, and he could cool the situation and show her fish.
"I have been myself, maybe even too much!" At least she knew all of his flaws already, so there would be no surprise there! From the looks of things, Huojin didn't find it possible that she had any flaws herself. Or if she did, they certainly weren't extraordinary. He envied that about her, as well as many other things.
"At least we are almost by the fish." he then said, with a pleasing smile. "I am excited that I can give you that first experience on land!" Since so far, he had probably given her a lot of drama.
