freelance lover Lethkhar ryuu_chan Tell me Joan of Arc wasn't called. If she was, then God's even worse than I thought...Pitting Christian against Christian like that... Look at Martin Luther. He stepped up and pretty much tore down the the church, which in that time was pretty much also the government. But the church desperetly needed to be reformed. Just because God calls one to stand up against fellow Christians, doesn't mean its wrong. Hate to break it to you, but Martin Luther didn't actually succeed in reforming the Church. All he managed in doing was splintering it, seeding enmity and hatred for years to come that would eventually lead to things like the 100 Years War. Quote: I went to a Westboro Baptist Church counterprotest. That group is "Christian". Does that make it wrong, since it was Christian v Christian? I don't think so, since most people would agree that WBC's ideas are disgusting. So are the members of WBC actually Christians? And if so, how could God support the hatred placed behind his name? And if He supports that, how could He support the protestors of that hatred as well? It seems rather inconsistent to me.

But I think most people would agree they are not very Christ-like. What's that saying? If going into a church makes you a Christian, does going into a garage make you a car? No, obviously that is not the case with either the former or the latter.
My point is- not all who claim to be Christian are living out a Christ-like life.

Overall, I feel like while Christians may disagree on certain subjects like women in ministry, gay marriage, etc we should all be united in the overall message of God's love and Good News. If we are truly in tune with God and living in community centered on him, there shouldn't ever be a case of Christian v Christian. God will never pit two people doing his will as he called them against one another.
But because so much is subjective, there's obviously a lot of issues with this ideal.

Different people focus on different things, and, usually in love, try to get the other side to see their point so that there will be none of this 'living in sin.' But, there shall always be liberals, otherwise humanity would still be living in caves banging rocks together, and there shall always be conservatives, otherwise nothing would be stable enough for new things to emerge.

Reformed Baptist I wanted to lay this on table in this discussion to show why many believe that women should not be ministers. 1st Corinthians 14:33-35 (ESV) ... As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 1st Timothy 2:11-15 (ESV) Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. Well people can also take that wrong and say women are lesser than men. And im sorry, we're equals. I will never let a man tell me im less, and if i wanted to be a female pastor, there is no way i would listen.
God makes us, and i personally believe in fate..so If he made me a minister, he would want me to rise about the oppressors and do what he made me to do.

Grrrr... I'm Catholic, so I'm not supposed to approve women ministers. But I do anyways, cause I'm cool like that. Along with loads of other stuff they teach that is absolute crap.

I say that it is okay for women to take these roles. If the woman is prepared to take this job, nothing else matters. God gave us each of us gifts and it is up to us to us them. Whatever they may be.
