Odd peered down at the little mus as he approached. He attributes the little creature's willingness to the samewillingness of the little skurri that approached him what seemed so many seasons ago. He just didn't know. That had to be it. White equalled Mist, so Ally had always called him Mist Boy, and that had been how things were.

How he wished he really was a Mist.

He gave the little mus a nod and half hearted smile before glancing at the owner again. "I spent so many seasons with my instructor, a Ghost named Breeze. Not a mark of white on her that was not there when we met for the first time, when I was a fledgling." He told the Wildtype this in hopes of putting him at even more ease. He could tell Rowan was uncomfortable and it was probably about time he took his leave, to avoid causing this poor fellow any more trouble.

Rowan perked up at Odd's explenation. "Breeze? Ghost, very proud of her combatant students? Uhh... Red eyes? I think I saw her at a graduation... Yeah, I remember her, if vaguely."

Shifting from one paw to the other briefly, he added. "She's not white, no..." He sways a bit and his Mus gets all the way up to the white Sentinels paws.

"You nice? Won't eat?" He places a small paw on Odd's leg. "Can climb?"

"Berr, don't be rude." Rowan says softly. "Sorry, he likes to climb on people's backs. I'll call him off if you're uncomfortable with it. I'm not." Rowan actually subconsiously moves a bit closer, to get to his Mus quicker if it's sent away.

He seems a lot more relaxed now. First no proof that the 'white sickness' spreads, like he had guessed, and now, a Sentinel that had been around Odd for many moons... Seasons? And suffered no ill effects (At least not to her plumage). The cold hand of logic is squeezing the fear out of his mind. Now maybe if he repeats this in his head a few more times the lingering fear will vanish.

"The one and the same. Wonderful, really. If you've ever got a little one needing some teaching, I certainly reccomend her." The aberrant spoke proudly and highly of the Ghost that had taken the time to teach him.

"I wouldn't ever eat a companion, Berr. They are very useful and wonderful friends. I won't eat you." He hooted softly. If anyone were to harm his chirops...

He doubted he would be able to handle it well. He tended to each and every one of them with such care and patience. Even the culls were treated well until their untimely and swift demise.

Not getting any indication that he's prohibited, and comforted by Odd's reassurance, Berr proceeds to make his way up Odds leg slowly and deliberately, heading for his back but giving the Sentinel time to dislodge him if he's uncomfortable.

"Mhm... Well, I'll keep it in mind, definately. Not planning on any young ones for a while yet, though." This shift away from Odd's condition is working wonders on Rowan's nerves and he presses on. "I see you're fond of companions? That's good in your line of work, I bet. Me? I would not let anything happen to my little Mus." He nods at Berr.

"Anyway... Keeping. How many of the little ones are we talking here?"

"Hah, too many." The aberrant seemed to be a little more relaxed as the shift in conversation had the same slightly soothing effects. He was glad that the change had occured, but gladder still that this rare Wildtype was behaving differently than most.

"Beetle and Worm are the ones who mainly breed for future companions, but there are a few other couples. Then there are those who breed for food. Most of their offspring go to the drop off platforms. It's getting to the point that I can hardly keep count. I mark the ones I'm fond of with pink, like Moth, here."

Berr psits on Odd's back, a little bit away from the Chirop and snuggles into his feathers. Warm and fluffy, nice.

"Mmm, I see... That's a smart system." Rowan states calmly, but his eyes are focused on his Mus on Odd's back. He's unsure how to feel but doesn't want to spoil his companions fun and he, again, wishes he had courage to get closer, but the knot in his heart is loosening, seeing Berr sitting on him and being comfortable.

Odd's demeanor remained friendly, but he could clearly recognize the staring. He was close enough that he could make out Rowan's eyes, especially in this darkness of Deep Woods.

While the Wildtype remained friendly, the gaze is familiar and unsettling. It was a clear sign of discomfort and this was something Odd was rather used to. "It is rather efficient." He concluded with a soft hoot, then turned his attention to Berr.

"It was very nice meeting you, Berr, and I certainly enjoy your company. I do have to go soon, though, so you might want to run back to Rowan, okay?" There. Hopefully this would ease the Wildtype some. He could distance himself from the mus and make an excuse for his own parting. He certainly hated being a burden.

"Hm? You're leaving?" Rowan manages a neutral expression. It was, after all, Odd's own choice if he wanted to go.

Rowan looked off to the horizon, there was no light yet, but the first whisper of a sunray was hinted at the horizon.

"It's that late? Maybe you should, I'd hate to keep you up."

Berr the mus hesitates for a moment on Odds feathers, but then registers the command and runs off to his master, swiftly climbing up and settling on his head. Rowan flicks a playful eartuft at him and looks at the white Sentinel.

"It was nice to meet you, Winter, sorry to see you go." He nods his head in Odd's direction.

"The pleasure is all mine." The aberrant replied as he stretched out his wings and readied himself for the flight ahead. He hated to cause someone as pleasant and as decent as this upstanding Wildtype too much trouble.

"Many a chirop to teach and ready, for when they find homes. Perchance I will be by this way again. If you are ever in need of a pair of wings, I can be found in the northern borders of Deep Woods." He gave the smaller male a slight dip of his head, before turning tail and pushing off the limb that held him. Moth was, as usual, right near his face and the pair slowly dissappeared into the dark depths of Deep Woods.
