"Sure you can, Monty," closing the lid, Miss tossed it toward her, " but when it's drys, it only comes off when you add a solution to it and scrub like crazy. It's a pain, but effective."

"Thanks," Monty murmured. She unbuckled her armor, laying the orange-red plates out on the ground and brushing the black stuff on. As the chemical stench met her nose, she gagged. "Yurgh," she mumbled. "Lemme guess, the other stuff smells worse?"

Miss crinkled her nose as she thought about it and nodded, "Much...much worse. It's bad enough to give yourself a headache if your around it long enough, but if it means I get my normal color back I can deal with it."

Albany grinned. "Good thinking, Monty! Considering that's part of the plan!" she said. "Okay...D lights and schematics please." She waited as D rigged her helmet to project and dampened the lights.
D pat Pi reassuringly and then went to help Albany.
Albany took a deep breath and looked around. "This Ladies...is the plan." From there she outlined the details of her entry and her and D's work once inside. "We'll meet Montana and Pi at the entry to the AI Storage Facility and then enter. We'll only have a few minutes but once we have him we'll get the hell out. I'll be taking a decoy with me while Monty and Pi get out. Hopefully that will confuse them enough that they won't know who to chase when it comes down to it." she looked at Montana. "I want you to rig all three mongooses to crash into the building and blow when we're on our way out." she said. "They won't make it but hopefully that will be distracting enough that we can get out." she then looked at Missouri. "Can you steal a Warthog?" she asked. "We'll have to sacrifice low profile for speed. The more miles we put between here and us the day of the better." she fidgeted a bit. "I'm thinking of going into tomorrow or the day after...any objections?"

Before Pi could object, Monty got to her feet and stepped resolutely on her AI's tail. "Nope, Albany, all sounds well! I may need today and tomorrow to rig the Mongooses." She grinned. "It may be a little more difficult this time, last time it was a remote-controlled Mongoose, but I can certainly change their programs." She patted Pi on the shoulder. "From here on out, every wait has a specific purpose. We get impatient, we all fail, K, D, and you go into storage, and we're either imprisoned or executed. We stay patient and follow the plan, we all get out of this with Epsilon," she added in a low voice. "It would be foolish to just rush in."
"Sounds like a plan," K smiled. "We may have to be quick in getting that Warthog, though. If anyone suspects us, they'll probably be told to shoot first and ask questions later."

"Great." Albany said. She then stretched a bit. "I've got toys to finish." she said and then went over to her bag and pulled out one of her kits and started working.
D fixed Albany's helmet and then went to lay down. He was feeling a little tired and stressed out. Please let her have her father's luck. Let her get in and out with no encounters... he sighed and knew that was a bit much to ask for...but he could try.

Leaving her armor to dry, Monty made her way over the vehicles with a tool kit hidden at the bottom of her bag. She had never told anyone in the project, but she enjoyed working on hardware; it was an enjoyable challenge to rig the Mongooses. She got to work immediately, shivering under the strange embarrassment of being outside without her armor.
Pi plopped down weightlessly onto the seat of the Mongoose Monty was working with. She put her arms across the handles and laid her chin moodily on them. "Think it'll work?" she asked tensely. "After all, three Mongooses isn't much of a distraction." She sighed. "I wish we had a demolitions expert...like that Nevada. If we had some explosives, we could make a bigger boom..."
Monty allowed herself a grin. "Yeah, but, sad to say, I'm fresh out of JATO packs." She shook her head, remembering their feigned death. "Well, we'll have to make do with what we find once we're inside, I suppose."
K smiled. "I'm sure it's no different from driving a normal vehicle," she murmured. "And I can always help you." Over the past several days, K had learned almost everything there was to know about Miss. She was growing attached to her, and was half dreading the time she knew would come in which they had to part. The more we learn, the more we love, I suppose...

Albany worked almost mindlessly. Like her father she didn't need blueprints or diagrams on how to assemble the tricks and tools of her profession. She had them all memorized. She supposed that maybe York had it easier. D after all had a perfect memory, and she guessed that he kept a record of everything he'd ever built in the first place. She wondered absently if maybe when they got home if she should ask K if she wanted to become a more permanent resident in her head. She'd found that sharing wasn't so bad after you got used to it and K was her...her...well time to ask and think about it later.
D curled up and flicked his tail over his head. He'd found he'd had a hard time "sleeping" since they'd left. He supposed that he was lonely. Albany was good company...but she wasn't York. She occasionally acted like him...but it was different...he sighed and minded his ghost link on commands radio frequencies. It at least gave him something to do while he waited.

Miss smiled at K and nodded, "I'm sure we will be fine."
Making sure the others were distracted before lowering her voice, "If you wouldn't mind K, do you think you could not tell others my real name? I know you probably picked that up while you where in my head. "
Frowning slightly after hearing Pi and Monty talking, Miss rooted around in her bag that she brought along with her. After a bit of a search, she finally grasped what she was looking for, "Hey Monty! I don't know if this will help but I have a gernade. It's just a regular run of the mill gernade and I only have the one, since it was left over from my last mission."

K nodded. "No problem, Miss." She could feel some faint traces of embarrassment when Miss thought of the name, and, K had to admit, it was an undignified sort of name. "I wasn't planning on telling anyone. It's a secret, so I have no reason to tell it."
"It might come in handy," Monty said unhappily. "That is, we might be able to use it to draw their attention to the fact that three Mongooses are running into the wall. It'll probably be more useful to keep it around, though. I'm sure we can scrounge some things up. Pi, pass the word along? Any and all portable high explosives that can be gathered without hindering our movements or slowing down would be greatly appreciated."
"Sure will," Pi replied. She padded off to Albany and D. "Monty says that if you can and it won't slow you down, if you find any explosives, she'd like to have them--you know, to make a bigger boom when the mongooses crash."

Albany jerked a paw towards the back of the building without looking up. "Check in there. Tis a field house we're in you know...all sorts of training equipment, ammo, probably some grenades somewhere...Its why I picked this building." she said. "And if its not completely usable as is, I'm sure its possible to rig it to work." she carefully attached another piece to the device in her lap. "Just don't ask me...don't know a thing about explosives." she said.

Miss released a relieved sigh, "Thanks K, I appreicate it, and I'll never know what my parents were thinking when they named me."
Tucking the gernade safely away. "Alright, I'll just keep it with me until we need it," Miss said, strangly reluctant to give up the explosive just yet.

"You do that," Monty said absently, going back to work. She would need to work hard to get things done by the next day.
"Really?" Pi asked. "Then I guess I'll, uh, take a look..." Albany was right. Past several ill-maintained doors were piles of equipment long forgotten. Pi's practical side curled its lip in disgust--everyone knew that Freelancer equipment was better than army issue, so why did they leave the storage area open to the elements and thieves? The other part of Pi slapped the other for questioning their good luck and continued on.
There were indeed grenades and crates of cartridges and bullets. Half-lost memories paced through the AI's head as she searched for anything that might help. Some flamethrowers caught her eye, and she allowed herself a grin. Good repair, ready to fire--heh, bad pun--yes, these were exactly what they needed. Pi carefully scooped them up and brought them back outside to plop next to Monty.

Testing a small part of her armor, Miss was relieved to find it dry and quickly put it back on. Not feeling so exposed anymore, Missouri began to study the others. Monty was focused on her project and it didn't seem like a good idea to disturb her. Albany was also focused on what she was doing. K, Pi, and D all seemed to be in their own world, so Miss settled down and tried to wait quietly...which happened to be the thing she hated most about missions.
