Name: Rabican Name meaning [if any]: The horse sired by fire and wind. Gender: Male Personality: Charming Entry: Rabican, or Rabi as his mother called him affectionately, was a spirited young colt eager to explore the wide world and all the other soquili in it. He wanted to explore it with his family though, to share with them the beautiful things he found and ever adventure. Today he was out walking with his mother while his sisters went with their father for a swim. He enjoyed time alone with both his parents, getting to hear about their pasts and adventures only made him feel closer to them. The charming young colt felt his ears p***k as his mother mentioned humans.
Hooo-maans whoo it was such a strange word, humans seemed to be either loved or hated very seldom anything in between. He listened to his mother talk of her fear for them and his charming smile fell away. He wondered how she might feel if she had know that not so long ago her son had stumbled across one of the strange two legged creatures. Rabican tried not to lie to his parents, but he had that day, he had told his mother that he hadn’t spoken to anyone or met with anything, just got lost for a moment.
Rabi remembered the sweet smelling female two-legger moving close, at first he had frozen in fear. Her hand had come closer, and closer and finally he had felt a gentle rubbing against his nose. When he backed away the girl had offered him an apple, he took one bite before dashing away when he heard his parents coming. He had felt breathlessly excited inside, dangerous wasn’t exactly the word he would use to describe it, exhilarating was more accurate.
He snapped back to attention as his mother nipped teasingly at his mane and asked him what he was thinking. Rabi gave a small gulp and trotted back and forth in front of his mother before deciding to ask her what she thought of his adventure.
“Mama…I know the humans scare YOU, but…what if I’m not afraid of them?” He looked up at her wondering and worrying that she would be concerned.
He saw his mother look at him with a mixture of concern and curiosity before she shrugged and explained to him that every human, just like every soquili was different. There was good and bad in everything and if he had found the good then he had no reason to fear it.
“I would never leave you mama, and if they scare you I won’t ever let them get too close to you.” He grinned up at his mother and nuzzled her lovingly filing away his promise in the back of his mind. As much as he liked the excitement that people brought, he would never let a human get close enough to frighten his mother.
Pushing the thought of the two-legged creatures from his mind he grinned and galloped ahead. “C’mon mama lets find daddy!” He felt his hind legs kick out behind him and grinned, at this young age the frightening things his parents warned him of were often forgotten and this was no exception. Someday perhaps he would find a need to remember his mother’s words, and his promise to her, but just now racing across the land he was just a young mustang wild and free.

Name: Ariadne Name meaning [if any]: Type of Butterfly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariadne_merioneGender: Female Personality: She’s her mothers favorite child. But she’d preferred not to be fawned over because it only makes her feel stupid. Because she was born a ‘special’ horse. Entry: You're out on your own, away from your parents for once. They are always watching you! Making sure you’re safe! But sometimes that drives you crazy... But these trails don’t look the same at night as they do in the day...When you came out here. How did you get away from your parents? What did you do when you found out you were lost? Are you brave enough to stay calm, or do you miss your family? Why? She was out on her own once again. It was a first for her seeing how protective of her mother was. She wasn’t like that with the other children from there herd. But she was something ‘different’ her mother told her. She was something ‘special’. She couldn’t quite understand this at all. How she was so wonderful? Her siblings were so bright- so spunky…so smart. She wasn’t and she figured her mother was just catering to her because she was so ‘slow’. Even her other siblings knew this and teased her about it. But she just couldn’t do anything about it. Or didn’t really want to…it would just add to the harassment. She hung her head down low and started to trot out into the distance. She didn’t have any plans of running away. She didn’t have any plans of getting lost. She clearly just wanted to think about things for awhile. Clear her head. She sighed and shook her main too and fro. There were apples further on! She could smell them from here! With a whinny she lifted up her hooves and leapt off the winding path. APPLES! She clicked her lips together and pranced again. Had she not been so caught up she might have realized that she was straying further and further from home- but apples were so rare to her. Mother always thought she would choke on them. So even though they had such a delectable taste mother always took watch over her. Always spoiling her fun. She pouted, but it was quickly over as she started to gorge herself on all the red delicious she could handle. Why was mom and dad such a fusspot with her?! These were the tastiest things EVER! But by the time she had finished grazing the entire area clean of apples night had already fallen and she found herself stranded out in the wild. In the far distance she could hear a wolf baying at the moon. She tried to steady herself but the noises were making her nervous. And the thought of wolves were just terrifying. No wonder mom told her not to stray. She pawed a hoof at the ground trying to get her bearings. But the trail was gone. The familiar landmarks were no place to be seen and ‘AHhhwooooooooo!’ The wolves were getting ever so closer to her. Why didn’t she listen to her mother and father? A small beaded tear slipped down the side of her face then dripped off her long muzzle. All this for apples. Now she knew why her other siblings thought she was stupid and teased her. It wasn’t her fault she was born slower then them. Not at all. Maybe though if she had been born smarter she would have listened… She slumped down to the ground as the tears rolled more freely. ‘So stupid!’ she kept chanting to herself. ‘So So STUPID!’ But as her own cries got louder. Something strange began to happen. As if by some sort of magic droves of brilliantly white winged butterflies began to land on her. They kissed off her tears with there wings and settled all over her body. And though she wasn’t a butterfly she swore she could understand every wing beat. They were telling her that she wasn’t ‘stupid’ and that her mother and father loved her dearly. That her siblings teased her because they loved her. Another landed on her nose allowing the young Philly to look right into the butterflies beautiful eyes. ‘You’re like us…’ she swore she heard from it. ‘Starting off as a caterpillar then evolving into a beautiful butterfly!’ The wolves then howled again and she gave another shutter. “But the wolves…” The butterfly then fluttered it’s wings again. ‘Wolves can’t harm you my’ dear. You’re too smart for them!’ And though the small insect really wasn’t talking just the thought alone made her happy on the inside. The little bug then jumped off her nose and took off in front of her. ‘Follow me and we will find your family!’ The little Philly then nodded and even with the wolves baying behind her felt she could tackle anything…and that with the help of her new little friends would evolve into the prettiest butterfly there ever was.

Name: Penny Name meaning [if any]: The name of my first doggie 8D who I loved dearly Gender: Female Personality: Playful Entry:
"Bye Mum, Bye Dad, Love you! be back before dark!" shouted Penny as she ran from her home with a large smile, she loved to explore even more so she loved working out the ways of this ugly but beautiful world they lived in. She took after her dad a lot she was proud of that she loved the way that nature was reflected on her back, The minty green was her favorite but the black made it look so much more stunning. She was not boastful of her looks but she was confident and like other young ares did not go on about how fat and ugly she was. What was the point in trying to change youself? It was a lot of rubbish to her. On her thoughts on the topic she found herself on high ground snapping out of her day dream and then tilted her head. This place was new to her and with a wide smile her adventure began.
Two beady eyes overlooked the vast plains of the corn fields, the bulbs where not edible yet but they looked like tey were waving to her what an inviting sight it was beautiful the sun rays bouncing off of them ever so gracefully, natures beauty never stopped amazing her. "Wow..." she breathed softly. On top of the mount the young foal stud with a content glimmer in her eyes, she canned the area a big smile painted on her young face. She was overlooking the village, two-leggers where running in and out, cooking, cleaning and in general carrying out the normal activities that consume their lived day after day there homes where mud and straw and they wore clothes that made them look like animals, fur's and leather and cotton it was amazing how they made things she believed they where also one of natures great achievements they where amazing to watch especially to one so new to this Earth, they where not the monsters she was expecting in fact they where beautiful...
Her mind took her away again and then so she stayed there until she saw a sparkling shiny blue color. Her eyes looked around seeing a beautiful butterfly flaoting around her like a sakura petal falling to the ground. A wider smile came onto her face as she followed it with her gaze, she loved these things they where what she imagines angels being like. The wings where so different she heard some Soquili had wings like that, she wished she had them, she would love to fly more than that she would love to be as beautiful as a butterfly. She wanted to be as graceful but it was a dream out of her reach. A small sigh came to her mouth as the little creature began to fly away from her a sheet of disappointment came over her what the heck? Let her go where he goes, be a butterfly herself for the day she would study it.
"Hey! wait for me little guy I shall call you Apple" She beamed jumping down and with the little coordination she had between her four legs chased after it. She was not the best runner yet her twiggy legs seemed to want to make her fall and sometimes they all got tangles up in one another it was a pain but oh well everyone has difficulties and she was sure to get better one day! Soon Penny came to the borderline of the village she blinked and stopped remembering all her mother said about these people. They did not look like monsters but she always like to so what her mother told her being older she knew more but maybe this was a lesson she had to learn herself? after all even though she was not the best runner she was sure she would get away if they chased her and besides that they where other horses here so it can not be that bad, but why where they in pens and rope? where they slaves? what is this place the beauty from it seemed to fade...She thought for a second staying still her mind battling itself for now. What should she do? Too late someone already saw her.
Her eyes widened as she saw the creature approach her, a ugly furless thing. She looked down at it, it was short and quite fat! hardly any hair and any teeth, its hands where sticky and it was dirty and muddy wearing a cloth around the waist and it smelled was this a human man her mother was right they where horrible at least at this age yuck! she was a clean person and she did not like getting mucky this thing was making her want to throw up, a cold shiver ran down her spine a look of disgust on her face, it sounded odd too but for some reason it was cute... why was it cute such a awful creature made her want to smile in aww? this was magic there is no way something so dirty can be so god damn cute! She was confused as she lowered her head to look at the toddler she was confused and interested by it like a moth to a flame, it sat in front of her before she jumped back its words shocking her, why did it have such a loud high pitched voice! It was annoying and its sudden outburst shocked her and made her ears hurt. "That was not very nice" she stated she was bigger than it so she saw herself in control of the situation so much so to give the stranger orders.
"PONY!" It shouted. Clapping those black little hands and its pink gums flapping with its lips, spit flying everywhere there was even a bugger coming from his nose. She felt sick oh god. Suddenly the small got worse these creatures where so YUCK! she kept thinking it but she still say the little thing as cute even interesting the older men seemed to ignore her they just smiled over at them chuckling and telling jokes every so often, what did they find so funny? she didn't find this funny where they laughing at her? she did not like that she felt her cheeks going red this was so embarrassing.
"What I am most certainly not a pony I am a Filly, no I am penny! D<" She stated in one breathe shaking a little as she started down at the young human foal. She smiled at Penny before picking up her child and coming closer to the young filly. She crunched her face as the young one stoked and patted her when he was finished she looked and gasped hand prints all over her this was respectful! Disgraceful! now the men where really laughing. "Thats just great.. whats so funny! This is atrocious why did you do that?" she asked the kid didn't seemed to take any notice of her words then again he probably did not even understand her but that was not going to stop her. This was just perfect these people where not monsters they where just down right rude!
Soon after another approached she was like a goddess the paintings on the walls near her home. She tilted her head this human was beautiful and clean and she even smelled nice like cooking. She smiled content she did not seem scary so this was a nice situation. Her clothes where clean and she was even wearing some shiny metal around her neck and wrists, she guessed this fully grown human mare was this little toddlers mother. How could someone so beautiful create something this rude she had to teach this little one some manners but she could not talk even though the women did not look dangerous she was big and she could not be sure. The women picked up the child and then walked towards Penny. She did not know what to do or think she was scared and confused, and she wanted her mother, she was okay the bigger people watching her but now she felt her personal space being invaded. "Hey what you doing dont come close... please." she cringed stepping back before she was up against a hut and could not walk back anymore..
Penny closed her eyes waiting for it, she was convinced this women was going to hurt her and was starting to wish she had not of come here but she could not run her legs where firm to the ground with fear, or maybe it was just that deep down she did not want to leave something in her made her want to stay...? Maybe it was just because this was like an unreal dream I mean Penny was a good foal there was not way that she would of disappointed and went against her mothers orders like that. She thought what would she say if she saw her now, Penny hated getting into trouble but she was so niave she wanted to know what the world was like by her own eyes and experiences. Was that s bad? it must be look where it had gotten her what if.. she did not have the chance to see her mother again what if they made her a slave here like some of the others. Questions zoomed threw her mind as she waited to see where the never ending stream of her life was going to take her.
She felt something on her head as she shuddered wanting to scream. She opened one of her eyes to see the mother and child walking away? She was confused and the blank expression on her face complemented the fact. What just happened? She looked down to the floor to see a carrot. She was baffled she looked once again confused at the two who where just leaving? why where they going? I mean why was she still fine? they where never going to hurt her? She shook her head her brow leavening the men where still laughing.... idiots.
She looked back up maybe it was poison then again... She leant down and snatched up the food taking bite after bite wow she loved carrots!!! she chuckled. "Thank you!" she shouted back. The child who was looking over his mothers shoulders clapped. "Pony!" he cried back.
Penny smiled before her little butterfly friend flew back by her. "Apple!" she greeted again before she chased it in a few circles before she went running back threw the fields. What would her mother say! of cause she couldn't tell her where she had been but... This was great they where nice people after all and maybe when they where both older she would meet that boy again and thank him for the carrot...

Name: Suibhne Name meaning [if any]: Well-going Gender: Male Personality: Adventurous EntryQuote: Prompt one: You're out on your own, away from your parents for once. They are always watching you! Making sure you’re safe! But sometimes that drives you crazy… But these trails don’t look the same at night as they do in the day. When you came out here. How did you get away from your parents? What did you do when you found out you were lost? Are you brave enough to stay calm, or do you miss your family? Why? Suibhne had been walking with his mother, father and his two other siblings on this fine morning. They were going some where but the specifics weren’t exactly given out to him or the other two. Maybe today was the day when mother would explain why exactly she didn’t like the weird two-leggers, it was a thought, but he doubted it. He was good at remembering trails, which was good with the habit he had of trying to wander off and his mother or father catching him halfway down a new path of exploration. There was a map in his quickly developing mind, but there was still so much to learn and his map was far from completion.
The family moved past some trees and his siblings took off down a big hill to go straight down into the plain clearing where rare far scattered out trees lived. Suibhne had reminded them of the fun they had going down the hill to see grandma Esperanza and how at the hill they would start a game of tag. They were all to split off in different directions so mom and dad could play too. It was the only way, if his plan worked, that he could possibly lay out a complete trail in his mind.
He stood still and both of his parents told his to stay in that exact spot, he nodded and prayed his siblings would put on a good game. After both his mother and father took off after his natural and blonde colored siblings, he turned to the trees and slipped into them.
The sun was high when he walked into the branch of the forest, but now the leaves above wasn’t glowing with a green, red, yellow or spotted brown ambience any more. Suibhne kicked a rock as he looked around. The nights were getting colder and he didn’t know what this meant, sure his mother said something was coming…a ‘W’ word, but the thing was not the environmental cold settling in, but the cold that left him knowing he was alone, utterly alone.
Turning his head this way and that he was trying to see in an environment he wasn’t meant to. He was part wild mustang; he belonged out in the plains with his family, warm with his family. Instead he was selfish and decided to take a stroll through the nearby trees and get out from under his mother’s loving and caring eyes and the proud eyes of his father. He was screwed. A foal was too small to fight off…No he couldn’t start to panic that wouldn’t be any good for him. If Suibhne wanted out of this maze of trails then he was going to need to be calm and collected.
Darn, how much did he wish he was standing next to his mother right now getting a lecture about wandering off; or being scolded by his father about worrying his mother.
His coat prickled around his whither at the sudden sensation of being watched. There wasn’t a sound or anything that would state it to be anything more then just his imagination wandering off in the darkened forest, but then he saw a faint shadow moving in the trees to his left.
Balking Suibhne took off to the right, stumbling and falling onto his knees twice before nicking his shoulder on a snapped branch. He whined in shock at the feeling, but then looks and recognized the spiky tip. Wild eyes looked around frantically for the shadow that had sent his racing in this direction.
He didn’t see it, but the prickled hairs told him someone was still there. Who he didn’t know, and well part of him was saying follow the trail you now know is here. Taking the path that meandered straight to where he could see the starry night sky in the break before him.
Suibhne took off for the gap and stepped out into that tall grass. “Momma! Daddy! Where are you?” he yelled out. Adrenaline seeping from his quivering body, his front knees burned with the debris sticking to them and his shoulder burned, but that wasn’t what caused his eyes to glisten over. He had played his caring and fun loving family to get lost.
His head tucked down as soft sobs broke past his throat.
“Don’t sit their and cry,” a voice sounded from the trees behind him. “Go down the hill, your family awaits there.” The voice added in a melodramatic deep tone.
When Suibhne turned to look, he couldn’t see anything behind him, but he nodded and whispered, “Thank you.” to who ever it was and took to walking with tired and acking limbs down the steep hill.
By the time he found his mother and father with his sleeping sibling at their hooves. He was ready to collapse. Tucking his head down he approached his parents with shame pulsing from him in waves. He couldn’t look at either parent and well he was just so glad to be back with them, he went straight to nuzzle and warm his black and green body up against his mother’s blonde.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered as he awaited for them to start their lecture. If they ever did, he didn’t hear it for he was in a heavy sleep from exhaustion in seconds of his leaning next to his mother’s legs.

Name: Rula Name meaning [if any]: none Gender: Female Personality: Confident Entry:
Rula padded along the path as the sun sank. She was happy to be away from her parents. She enjoyed having space and places to go to. She knew her parents meant well, but she tired of feeling tied down like that. Her brow eyes looked around as the darkness engulfed her surroundings. She didn't let it bother her as she reached a 3 way break in the path. She looked around; but something about this made her feel unsure... Though with a confident strut she went down the path on the right.
Thinking about her family she wasn't paying to much attention to where she was going. The more she thought of it, the more she felt bad... Her parents were probably scared that she was missing. With a sigh she turned around... It was then she realized she had no idea where she was. Looking around as she walked back... she wasn't sure where she turned or didn't. It was all so different at night...
Her confidence started to melt away. She had never been out at night before, and thought it would be fun, but she heard the creatures in the woods. She sniffed around some; hoping to make smell something familiar. But she wasn't able to notice anything. She walked along the paths slowly, trying to look strong, so no one would bother her. Rula thought of herself as confident; but she was always in the realm of her parents who she knew would be there to protect her. Her pace slowing she looked around again, falling in almost defeat. "I miss Moma..." She whimpered a bit.
But it was then that she heard something... and big coming her way. Frozen in her tracks her heard the thing coming faster and closer... the outline was in view It was then that she looked forward standing her ground. With the outline in view she saw that it was certainly much bigger then her was. But then the hooves slowed down. She knew at this point it was as focus on her as as she was it. And then it was there. "Papa~!" Rula nickered, seeing her father... She was so happy to see him right now. She ran over to him and nuzzled into his legs. "I'm so sorry for running off Papa..."
Her father spoke some comforting but stern words which was aspected. An with her father Rula headed back home, her surroundings seemed less scary now that her father was there.

Name: Méreg Name meaning [if any]: Hungarian for Poison Gender: Male Personality: High Spirited Entry:
Méreg had finally gotten away from his parent's watchful eye and was now galloping through the forest. The colt could feel his heart thumping loudly in his chest as he bounded along. The sun started to set behind the rolling hills and for just a second he stopped to watch.
When he turned back to the forest, the light had almost completely vanished. Méreg wasn't scared, or at least not enough to admit it. He moved much slower through the thickening brush. He moved his head from side to side, hoping to get a glimpse of where he was but the moonlight could not penetrate the trees this deep into the forest.
Nervous now, the colt kept moving forward. A sudden crack from a twig spooked the foal and he sprinted forward, oblivious to what was ahead of him. Méreg's heart pounded even harder in his chest as he tripped through the forest, running from the noises that followed him. He still couldn't see, not even his own muzzle in front of him, but he kept running.
Finally, his front hoof found a protruding rock and he tumbled out of the edge of the forest onto the bottom of a grassy hill. The moon bathed down cool light and the stars studded the skies. Méreg looked up and realized he was home. He quickly stood up on all fours, shook himself off and walked up the slope to his family. They didn't ask where he had been and Mereg certainly wasn't going to tell him about his little adventure...

Prompt Two!~
Your mother has been talking about humans, and how they scared her, and her family before her. Her family were a herd of real wild mustangs.. And you are a mustang descendant yourself. Do you have the same fear of humans? Do you tell her that? Are you close enough with your mother to really be able to say anything to her about.. well anything? Why do you feel this way?
Name: If Male - Esperar. And If Female - Maile. Name meaning: Esperar - 'To hope' in Spanish. Maile - A type of Hawaiian vine.. And my name in RL. X3 Gender: Male~ Personality: Cocky Entry:
'Hmph.. Humans?' Esperar thought to himself with a light snort, giving a flick of his tail at his thoughts. His mother had told him about the odd creatures sometime earlier, describing their ways and what they looked like, and most of all.. Stay away from them. "They don't sound all that dangerous t'me." The colt said out loud to himself with a small scoff. The very idea of something walking on two legs, like his mother had said the humans had, was simply a thing to laugh at for him. "Why, I bet I could take one on by m'self!" He said with a cheeky grin, giving a sharp stomp of one of his front hooves into the dirt below him, leaving a small indent in the ground. He was so sure of himself!
Having left on one of his little scouting 'missions' for the day, the young colt had decided to look around and hopefully find one of those humans. Giving a shake of his head, he let out a determined smile, trotting off out from the brush and giving a few swift glances around. He most certainly did not want to get attacked or eaten! 'No I don't!' Esperar thought to himself with a soft snort, deciding it was safe enough to go out and continue his search. Taking a few steps out, he gave a wide Cheshire Cat grin, taking even more strides forward with his head held high, wanting to be as his mother and father were.. At least, that's what he thought they were. Grandmother Esperanza would have taken delight in his little attempt to be a prince. Always having his parents following and keeping a close eye on him, the little male was driven to believe that he was special, better than the little guys, and pretty much 'all that'. But.. his cowboy accent threw off the 'seriousness' he tried to put out to everyone. None the less, he thought of himself as royalty.
"I, Prince Esperar, d'mand a human to come out at on-" Before he could finish speaking, he bumped into something, causing him to back up frantically and give a startled whinny. Giving a shake of his head, Esperar let out a breath, casting his eyes to look at what the thing was.
"Horsie!" A sharp voice cried out with a childish giggle. Big, chocolate shaded eyes were looking down at Esperar from a young, weird looking creature. She was being held with a struggle by a taller, bigger creature of her kind, the older one with a woven basket held under her other arm. Giving a surprised neigh, the colt's eyes widened at the two. He was then startled once again as a few soft 'Thumps' sounded out, making his young heart pound in his chest. But.. curiosity got the best of him. Taking a few steps around the two females, he peered out with his neck outstretched, looking at what had been the source of the sound. There appeared to be things inside of the basket, it's lid cast down on the ground, and a few round, deep red colored fruits were sitting near it messily.
"Hi horsie!"
The words caught Esperar's attention once more, he giving a slitted glare at the young creature. "I'm not a 'horsie'. What r'you, stupid in the head?" He barked out angrily, letting his front hoof strike the ground in front of him, confused at the little creature's words. Horsie? What a dumb little word it was! An insult to what he was! He was a horse, not some idiotic pet. His parents were wild. For God's sake, he had mustang blood in him! The small child struggled against her mother's grip as she waved her arms, throwing a tantrum, wanting to go and play with this interesting looking 'toy'. Unreadable words were thrown out from her mouth, only a mash of gibberish to the colt.
Esperer gave a tilt of his head and a confused raise of his eyebrow. Was this what a human was? Ick, such hideous creatures!.. Mother was right! The mere thought of being captured by one of these two-legged beings was unbearable. And their words! What were they saying? Giving a shake of his head as the child started to wail, he snorted wildly, forgetting his 'royal' act and scrambling to head back into the bushes and wild he knew. He then gave a sharp gasp, raising his head up and taking a few cautious steps towards the humans, stretching his neck out to snatch a fallen apple before galloping away. As soon as he was safe in the bushes and trees.. "Y'dumb two-leggers!" A cocky laugh escaped his lips as he fled.
Oh, what a story he had for Ma'.

Name: Hideki Name meaning [if any]: esteem, excellence Gender: Male Personality: Hideki is a very smart foal but he loves his family. He has a strong bond to them, and he is willing to protect him no matter the enemy or danger. This, of course, could get him into some sticky situations. He likes mysteries and challenges, and doesn't mind being strange or unusual. Though his love and affection for his family is unconditional, everyone has their moments. (I hope that's what you wanted to know... o.o) Entry: Mamma looked at me and told me about people. Humans. They are so strange and foreign, and Mamma is scared of 'em. I knew about our Mustang relatives but I still didn't know why they were scared of people so much. Mamma told me but it still is a bit confusing. If you look at it from her point of view, then it's totally understandable what she's feeling. But from the humans' point of view... Well that one is bit harder since the story was told in a slanted way that favored my Mustang relatives. But hey, if she wants to tell it that way, so be it. Anyway, if I look at it from the humans' point of view, they obviously weren't being very smart and most likely didn't think things through. What they did was wrong but they just weren't very bright. They really should be more careful, unless they wanna scare more horses.
Personally, I'm not that all scared by humans. I can understand why Mamma is, but it doesn't make me feel intimidated or anything. I wasn't there, and I doubt it'd happen again. After all, humans don't seem frightening. They are just careless and act without any prior thoughts to their behavior. I snorted quietly and tried to hide it from Mamma. I didn't want her to think I was disrespecting her, her family, or her feelings. I did want to tell her how I felt and I really thought about it... But her feelings are more important to me than my opinion on anything. No way would I risk that. Period.
Mamma doesn't always know what's going on with me though she might think she does. I can't tell her what I think whenever I feel like it. It just doesn't work that way. She might be a little... judgmental... but that's just her personality, I guess. I don't wanna hurt her feelings more than anything. She's my mom and I'd never stoop so low. If it was something of little concern to her or my family, I'd tell her. But not when it's something so great and that directly has to do with her. Mamma and Pappa may forgive me, but I'd never forgive myself. That's far, far below me.
So I smiled up at Mamma with the most angelic look I could muster. I hoped this would make her smile. It always makes me hurt when she is upset. Even though it wasn't my fault she became this way, it still bothered me. I blinked and tilted my head slightly. Though I'm not afraid of humans, I might not like them in the end. If they make Mamma this way... That is unacceptable. I walked closer to her and nuzzled her chest, which was about the highest I could reach. I tickled her body with my hair and smiled sweetly. As long as Mamma is happy, I am, too.
((I don't think I'll be editing this any more. If I do I'll make a note of it and it will most likely be grammatical errors xP))

Name: Aglaia Name meaning: Brilliance Gender: Female Personality: As her name indicates, she is a very intelligent Soquili. Her intelligence doesn't lend a hand to her sociability however. She can at times seem cold and uncaring, but it's only because she thinks others would know whether she cared about them or not. She doesn't have much of a sense of humor... she understands how to calculate when something would be funny or not, but she doesn't see a point to it. She'll never be a social butterfly, but she does enjoy having conversations with those that are close to her. She's very serious, and can get wrapped up in trying to act that way. As a foal, she won't really want to play with other foals in their silly games. She'd much rather spend time talking with the adults. She's beyond her years. Entry: For what felt like the first time in her short life, Aglaia didn't know something. It was ridiculous, because she had been in this forest so many times with her parents that she didn't think it was possible to get lost. At first she had denied herself the truth that she didn't know where she was. She had kept picking directions, telling herself that home lay that way. She realized now that that had only gotten her more lost. She had stopped when it was obvious what her situation was. She wasn't exactly scared; she knew that all of the noises she heard were natural forest sounds. But she didn't want to be stuck out here all night. She wanted to curl up next to her mother's warm body and go to sleep.
Yiska watched his daughter thoughtfully, wondering what she would do in this situation. He had followed her into the forest, careful that she didn't see him. He knew exactly where they were, but Aglaia had never been here before to his knowledge. From her perplexed look, he was pretty sure he was right.
"Okay." Aglaia said to herself, starting to pace. "I don't know where I am. How do I fix this?" Her voice sounded a little wobbly, but she convinced herself that she sounded confident and unafraid. She stopped pacing for a moment to take a look around. She recognize nothing. Not a single rock or tree. There was an animal path that looked like it might lead somewhere, but again, she didn't recall ever seeing it before. "Okay, one choice. Follow that path and see if it leads me somewhere I know better." She sighed. That would be a bad idea. It was more likely that it would bring her farther away from home rather than closer. "Second choice..." Her eyes started brimming with tears. There was no second choice, except maybe to just pick a random direction like she had been doing before. "And look where that got me," she muttered to herself, finally letting the tears spill. "MMMOOOOOOOM!" She screaamed, looking around herself franticly for any possible help. "DAAAAADDD!" The forest seemed to swallow her pleas. She knew that if she just waited until morning someone would come looking for her. But she had never spent a night away from home before. She was scared. She heard a rustle come from an unknown source. Tears still running down her face, she stared in the direction the noise came from. "He-*hic*-Hello?" she said, backing up a few steps.
A big dark shape was moving towards her, something with a white... a white patch on the face? "DAD!" She yelled, crying happily this time. She ran towards him and nuzzled him. "I want to go home. Can we go home, please dad?"

Name:Sage If Female: Croysa Name meaning [if any]: Wise beyond one's age. (at least to me that's what it means.) Gender: Male
Personality: Calm, methodical, a little reckless when he has ideas that seem unable to be ignored. Remembers most of what his parents have told him, conveniently forgetting their cautions about the world. (this applies to a male or female foal.) Entry:
Sage smirked at remembering his father and mother's words of caution. Yes, he knew it would be hard, but getting back to them wouldn't be that difficult. He glowered a little at the area, he was sure it was right around....
-snap-
He found himself tumbling head over rump down into a ravine. Well...that's just wonderful. He looked around and saw that his leg was bent up in a strange direction. That's not.... Searing pain shot through his body as he finally realized it was broken. He whimpered at the pain, wishing it would subside, however, it was not likely.
Thinking through his situation, perhaps it would have been more intelligent to have told his parents where he went. Sneaking...ow...off....ow...bad...Idea. Taking a deep breath, he mustered all the strength he could and stood up on his three good legs. His broken leg snapped down as he stood, causing him to stagger a little. The pain was nasty, but he was not going to be a "wuss" and simply lay their till someone found him. Grimacing through the pain, he limped forward. His eyes stared at the edges of the ravine, a little blurry from the pain. Glancing passed the ravine's edge he looked at the stars, remembering a little of what his parents had said in passing about which stars to follow when lost.
Finding one of the few constellations he remembered, he began to travel down the ravine in a direction that would be home. He sighed, endorphins making the pain a little more bearable, I am never going to hear the end of this when I get back. He limped along knowing full well, he was likely to never be let out again until he was full grown...and even then, it was doubtful.

This ended up kind of long, but I was enjoying myself. Sorry!! ^^;;
Name: Eathelin Name meaning [if any]: Well, it means 'noble waterfall', but I just picked it as a name that I like. XD Gender: Female for the prompt (but would be fine with male, too <3 - male's name would be Eginhard; personality would be the same). Personality: Quiet but confident, gentle and inquisitive, Eathelin enjoys exploring the world around her, sometimes with 'accidental disregard' for her personal safety. She's the kind of filly who'll chase a butterfly for miles before realizing she has no idea where she is.
Prompt one: You're out on your own, away from your parents for once. They are always watching you! Making sure youre safe! But sometimes that drives you crazy.. But these trails dont look the same at night as they do in the day..When you came out here. How did you get away from your parents? What did you do when you found out you were lost? Are you Brave enough to stay calm, or do you miss your family? Why?
Entry: Eathelin huffed a sigh and trudged around the field next to her home. Today, she decided, had been a very boring day. Mother had forbidden her from straying too far from home, and Father had backed her up, refusing to let the little filly accompany him on his own outing. Was it her fault she'd gotten lost the week before? No it was not, she huffed to herself. She'd been trying to help by gathering some flowers. Mother liked flowers; she'd admitted as much. They could have at least thanked her for the flowers when they'd finally tracked her down. Sure... it was a little scary, and they'd been worried when she hadn't come home that evening. But the flowers had been worth it... sort of. Except the ones that'd gotten mashed when she'd been startled by that owl.
The sun was setting now, and Eathelin found herself wandering through the grass aimlessly toward the edge of the forest. The little filly huffed again, snorting at a ladybug that was waddling along a fallen log. The tiny bug fluttered its wings indignantly before flying away. Hmpf, Eathelin thought again. The bugs can go where they want to go. It's not fair at all.
Without thinking about it too much, she started walking after the bug. If I was that small, I could get away and go where I like without anyone noticing, or telling me not to, she thought to herself. I bet that bug's parents never tell it not to go places.
The lady bug soared higher, and Eathelin picked up her pace to trot after it. I wonder where it's going? It must be so nice to go wherever you want to go. She gave a little whinny, cheering up a bit as the evening breeze ruffled her mane. Maybe tonight would be better than today. At least she would have an interesting story to tell, when she found out where the lady bug was flying off to.
After many long minutes pursuing the insect, the filly blinked and eased to a stop, stamping the ground in frustration. She'd lost track of the bug, much to her own annoyance. All this way I've followed it, only to lose it now, she thought dejectedly. How could I have.... Eathelin looked around, tail swishing. Well of course she'd lost track of it. It was dark now; much darker than she'd noticed. On top of that, what was left of the fading daylight was filtered and diluted by the canopy of trees she found herself under. In her eagerness to track the lady bug, she'd unwittingly wandered into the woods.
Oh dear, the filly thought, looking around. Mother and Father wouldn't like this at all. A moment after thinking that, she sniffed defiantly. Ha! So maybe they wouldn't like it! Who cares? She was more than old enough to look after herself. Why, hadn't they just been talking a few days ago about how big she was getting? Sure they had! She held her head up proudly, tail swishing again. This would be a great opportunity to prove to them how-
"Hooohoooohoooooooooo!"
Eathelin jumped at the sudden sound from the trees above her, eyes widening until the whites showed. Oh ... oh that was an owl. She sniffed at her silliness, stamping her foot again. Silly birds. Always making so much noise. No, she was definitely big enough to find her way home now. Why, it would be a simple matter of turning around and ... Hmm. The filly looked right and left in confusion. These trails didn't look familiar at all. The canopy was so thick, it was hard to even see the path more than twenty paces ahead of her as the light dwindled. Had she turned left or right following the bug? Her ears twitched as she tried to recall, one hoof starting to nervously toe the ground without her realizing.
Hmpf. Well... standing still wasn't going to get her anywhere, she decided, swishing her tail with more confidence than she felt. The best choice was to pick a direction that she thought she'd come from, and start walking. She hadn't been following the bug that long, really, she reasoned. It couldn't be that far.
Several hours later, the little filly was starting to shiver. She couldn't pretend it was evening anymore. It was night. It was dark, and cold, and she had no idea where she was. The paths she'd tried never seemed to lead anywhere that looked even a little familiar. There were owls... they weren't making her jump anymore, but the haunting, lonely sound still wasn't giving her any warm, fuzzy feelings. Worse than that, there were other noises now, too. She knew these woods were relatively safe - at least they were during the day - but every now and then she could swear she heard a low rumble, like a growl from the underbrush. Eathelin shivered again. Her parents had told her about things that growled, and she'd heard stories amongst the other foals, but she'd never encountered something that growled.
And ... out in the dark, alone and afraid, she realized she really didn't want to. This was why her parents were always watching her. I'm really not big enough to be out here by myself, she thought, starting to whimper unwittingly. I want to go home.
The filly stamped her foot again. But standing here and whimpering isn't going to get me there. I'm in trouble now, and it's up to me to get myself out of it.
Picking up speed and heading in a random direction, the little filly started to trot, then gallop, thrashing her way through the trees even as the little branches scratched at her legs and back. Somewhere. Somewhere she'd eventually get to the edge of the woods. She might not know where she was when she got there, but getting out of the woods was the first step. Eathelin was determined now.
Yes, she knew now her parents were right, and she was too young to wander like this on her own. But now wasn't the time to worry about how much trouble she'd be in. Now was the time to take charge and try to make her parents proud of her, despite the mistake she'd made in leaving. And if they were going to be disappointed with her to start, she was going to have to work that much harder now to make them proud.
Eathelin charged onward through the brush, as fast as her spindly, scratched legs would carry her; her speed decreasing as the night crept onward. When she finally slowed to a trudging walk again, the determination within her had all but fizzled. I've gone the wrong way completely. I wonder if they'll miss me, my brother and sister? My parents? Perhaps they'll be happier without me getting into trouble...
The little horse's thoughts were interrupted and drew to a halt, ears perking. She could hear a brook. Parched from her frantic scramble through the woods, she plodded toward the welcoming sound. At least I won't die of thirst, she thought gloomily, head drooping, ears back, tail hanging limply.
She didn't bother looking up as she approached the steam, keeping her head low to drink her fill. When her thirst was satisfied, she dared look up again, flanks twitching slightly as she surveyed her surroundings. Funny ... this bend in the stream looked almost ... familiar. Ears perking up again, the filly squinted around in the darkness. Yes. Yes these rocks... she'd seen them before. And the little sprinkling of wildflowers on that hill. And the glow from the fireflies! she thought, getting excited now. I've been here before! This is close to home!
With renewed strength, she turned to trot along the edge of the brook, knowing that it would lead to the far side of the pasture near her home. After a few more minutes, she at long last broke through the edge of the forest, trotting out into the moonlight. Even from here she could spot the others looking for her. Her tail swished and the pain of her many scratches was forgotten as she picked up her pace again to head back toward her family. Wait until I tell them where the lady bug went!

Name: Jinxuus Name meaning [if any]: none Gender: male Personality: A bit of a "momma's boy" he's a bit worrisome and easily startled. He loves playing the tough guy, but more often than not will run to his mommy. Entry: Quote: You're out on your own, away from your parents for once. Why? Jinxuus happily trotted out of the field where he, his siblings, and parents stayed. He smirked as he reached the edge, having yet to hear his mother's voice calling him home. He had successfully escaped his mother's watch. Not that he really wanted to that is, but it was certainly nice to have this feeling of overwhelming solitude and peace of mind. He took a look back before starting on a trail his mother had taken him down earlier that day, or he at least thought it was. The moon was nearing it's apex as he realized that he was still alone, he looked around, growing slightly worried. What if his mother never realized he was gone? What would dad say? He pressed on along the dirt path nervously glancing around every few steps. He soon came across a clearing, which, in the dark didn't look like he'd ever seen it before. He stuck his head out of the foliage and looked around, making sure there weren't any monsters, or worse, humans on the other side of the trees. Seeing that there wasn't any iminent danger he slowly walked out into the open. He smiled and began wandering through the hock-length grass. He would nibble a little here and there but at the moment his mind was set on exploring. He pushed his fear from his mind, that is until he heard a snort behind him. His heart sank and he closed his eyes tight, "Please don't eat me! I swear I didn't know anyone lived here, I was just exploring--" he was cut of by a short whinny. He turned around and looked up, one eye still shut to find his father standing over him. "Didn't know anyone lived here? That's funny son, now get back home, let's go."

Name: Olathe Name meaning [if any]: Beautiful Gender: Female Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, and curious. Always wondering what others think of her and the world. Always wondering what's out there. Entry: Quote: You're out on your own, away from your parents for once. Why? Lost in the dark. Well, good, maybe it was better this way. Now there were no watchful eyes counting every step she took. The only time Olathe felt she was really free from her parents' protective gazes was when they were asleep. She looked at two of the paths in front of her and glanced at the one she had been on. Three possible choices. Which was the right one? Olathe worried for her parents and what might happen to her family if she really did get lost. A persistant little voice in the back of her mind said: "Get out of here, choose the left path." Another argued that the path on the right looked much more appealing. Despite their efforts Olathe's legs took control and she turned around to go home on the path she had been on.
Uh-oh, more paths. Again, one to the left and another to the right. Which had she taken before? Objects that had been so familiar under the light of the sun were now deformed by darkness. Was that a rock or a hole? Land or water? Oh now she'd done it. Olathe stared awkwardly at her new challenge. Right or left? Maybe if she stayed and waited for just enough light to know where she was going....No, mama and papa were up early every morning. They weren't the lazy type. Knowing herself she would sleep in unlike her parents. If they woke up and couldn't find her, what would they think? Would they hate her for what she'd done or be glad when they found her? Olathe gritted her teeth and threw herself at the left path.
Agh! What was that? Olathe blinked hard to focus her eyes on the things before her. They were moving; taking deep, steadying breaths. Yes, they could be her family. But the lack of light twisted things so much that they might as well have been bears or wolves, or even humans. Cautiously Olathe moved forward. It wasn't until she stood directly over her mother that she knew she was safe. She let out a huge sigh that she'd been holding in the entire time. From now on, Olathe swore, she would choose the right path and never go down any dark ones. And no one would have to know about her first mistake.
