"Of course it is! It's way better than guys." Alli rolled her eyes. "I mean, they can't even get hints the size of a freight train that you want them to back off, you know?"

Avery's eyes flickered to Alex, who appeared to still be there. "Oh, I know," she replied with a grimace. "Thanks for saving me," she added in a lower voice.

Alli looked up. "Hey, Al...whatever your name is. Are you stalking my friend? If so or if not, I would highly advise that you go over in that direction." She pointed with one of her long fingers. "Good morning." Then she turned back to Avery. "No problem," Her voice matched that of the girl next to her. "I hate it when guys bother me, so I was a little worried about you. Good to see you're OK though."

Avery nodded, "I just bumped into him this morning... I'm Avery," she added quickly, realizing she didn't give this girl her name.

"I thought it was something like that. I'm Allison, just call me Alli." Alli smiled at Avery. "Good to meet you, then. You're good at acting, by the way. Thanks for playing along, it was the only think I could come up with."

She smiled, "Thanks, and it was a good idea," she turned to face forward in her seat as the teacher arrived. "It's nice to meet you Alli," she smiled at Alli while pulling a pencil out of her pocket.

Becky stood at her locker trying to figure out which books to take. Secretly, she thought about Alex. His wavy blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, she was determined to get his attention. She spruced up her hair in a mirror as she smacked on her bubble gum. "Glamorous" she said. Honestly though, she thought she was a little over weight, had too much pink on, wore the totally wrong perfume and looked zonked, but she'd never say any of that. She noticed Alex's wild interest in other girls, and it bothered her. She hid it deep down inside and acted natural. First Class, World Literature.
