Lilliath turned swiftly and gazed upon him with contempt.

"What would you know about darkness?" She spat. "His soul is even darker than mine. There was never any chance for him to be saved. Because you see, darkness has nothing to do with power. Power is a combination of multiple things. I could explain it to you, but I doubt you would get it. Besides, there is no reason for me to teach you of things beyond your reach."

She straightened a bit because she was increasingly aware that she was losing focus talking with the elf. She did her best to regain her calm, closing her eyes for a bit and taking a few deep breaths. When she opened them, she had managed to regain her bearings.

"My name is Lilliath, a witch of Darkness." She finally answered. "And I am fighting to bring an end to Kujin. I have no allies, only puppets. If you have concern for your life you will leave here. I don't need weak puppets when Demons will suffice."

The Elf had filled her with agitation. He reminded her of the many things she had tried to forget.

Luke smiled. "great!.." Luke looked over to a nearby cottage. "HEY JAMES GET OVER HERE!!" Luke yelled. Suddenly a old man with a staff and long white beard came from the cottage and grumbled as he walked over to Luke. "yes..what is it" he said. Luke frowned. "must you always be in a bad mood?..anyway..This is Kikyo..and she has a potion book..ca.." Luke was interupted by James. "Potion?! Let me see that." He grabs the book from kikyo's hand and skim reads half the page she had been currently on. "OHHH" James became intranced by the book. "Come with me child..we have work to do.." James began walking back to his cottage.

Luke sighed. "its alright..he's just the village magician..and he's quite a good one at that..a bit nuts though..either way if he thinks somethings interesting you should take a look at it with him..it IS your book of course.." Luke said.

"O.K..." Kikyo said, getting up from her spot and walking after James. "Um...sir, please be careful with my book. I don't have time to find its replacement..." she then stopped and decided the old man would be careful.

Asura was walking down the road, with his head down and his peasant bamboo hat tipped low to hide his face. He had been on this road for three days seeing no travelers headed in either direction, which seemed strange to him. It seemed strange, but he didn't much care. He was used to being in places that didn't have much traffic, the Agaru Monastery was isolate and had few travelers each year.

He continued walking down the road thinking. Just four more cycles(of the moon) he thought to himself, and then I will be able to return to Agaru. He missed the Monastery. He missed the the calm air, the simple living, the complete devotion to love. In fact the Agaru Monastery was a temple of the Goddess Sineha, the Goddess of Love.

Just then he felt a disturbance in the serene surrounding forest. He felt extreme hatred and destruction. Out of the corner of his eye he saw three creatures come out of the forest onto the road. Once they saw him, they began the attack.

The first one jumped at him. Asura pulled out his Katana and sliced through it, he was dead before he hit the floor. While his attention was occupied, a second one grabbed his legs and pulled him down. They then began clawing him. Asura struck the closest one with the sword, it fell back. The third gnawed at Asura's sword arm, and he was forced to drop the sword.

Without his sword, Asura gave into his fear. He then channeled his fear into the two creatures. They immediately stopped and ran away into the forest.

"What in Niraya's Kingdom were those?!" Asura yelled to himself. It was a close one, a little too close. "I'd better get to the nearest village, and fast." Luckly for him, the nearest village was less then a day's travel away.

--------------------------------------- A few hours later ---------------------------------------

He neared the village, but was shocked at what he found. It seemed as though the village had been attacked, or rather the people in the village. It was a war zone. There were injured everywhere.

He looked at the nearest person, a soldier he seemed. "What happened here?" he asked.

Leon just continued his unwaivering stare. The way she talked made it seem like he was inferior to her. She was probably right, but Leon didn't care. "An end to Kujin... And then what?" Leon turned and began to walk away, after a few paces he stopped and turned, "My name is Leon by the way... It was a pleasure..." With that he turned once more and began to stride off.

"Ungrateful brat." She murmured under her breath as she watched Leon walk away. "I spared his life yet I receive no gratitude. He should have been bowing at my feet. Then, I could have made some use of him."

She sagged against a tree in relief as he left. Lilliath had been constantly on edge since the Leon's arrival. His curious manner made it seem as if he had some type of tricks up his sleeve. She was used to dealing only with Demons and dead bodies, working in the shadows. Lilliath did not like being confronted face to face.

After a few moments, Lilliath finally regained her calm. She had taken some steps deeper into the forest towards a lowly group of demons. Her self confidence recaptured, she grinned from ear to ear.

"Guess I'll test him before he leaves." She decided after much musing. "It's a waste not to know the strength of your enemy.

With her eyes closed, Lilliath looked deep into the hearts of 3 very special demons. The darkness that lie there she would shape and enlargen with her own darkness. They would become puppets, only able to fulfill the command she placed in their hearts. The Demon would become filled with rage and attack the target of her choosing. That target would be Leon.
She removed the sword from her back and began the ritual, drawing symbols in the dirt, to increase her own darkness.

A few moments later, 3 demons headed steadily in his direction.

Leon's ears twitched as he heard leaves rustle and crunch underfoot. He stopped and brandished his bow as three rather imposing demons appeared around him. "Greetings... I do not wish to fight... Could we settle this like civilized people should?" His answer came as one lunged at him with full intent to kill. Leon jumped up into the trees and knocked an arrow. As he landed on a branch he let it fly, striking the attacking demon just bellow the skull, killing it instantly. The other two jumped equally as high as Leon did, lashing out with claws and make-shift clubs. "Close range it is..." Leon stored his bow and unsheithed his katana blocking both attacks, only faultering slightly under the impact. He dashed between both of them and sliced the one to his right in two, but not before leaving him with a nasty slash. Without missing a step he turned and pointed two fingers at the last demon. "I challenge the nature of law and reason... By summoning the power the theif I add your power to mine!" A white light seeps out of the demons mouth and into Leon's fingers. Seconds after, the demon falls to the ground. Leon sheithes his katana and resumes his treck, the slash fully healed. "Lilliath's work I'm sure..."

Uroth had hidden stealthily in the shade of the surrounding trees watching the end of the exchange between his Master and the Elf. He dared not intervene because he knew Lilliath well and knew that she would be upset if he had gotten in the way of her 'fun'. She nor the Elf could sense him. It was impossible for anyone to sense him in his human form. Uroth's presence was almost nonexistent in his human form due to his lack of strength, power, and darkness. He would be weaker than a human if not for his weapon. That was his only line of defense as a human. His master could sometimes sense him because of the link of their souls, but right now she was weak. Uroth knew that she was powerful, but she had sorely underestimated her strength and spent unnecessary energy drawing a ritual to test the Elf. He was angry with himself for not intervening even if she had been angered.Anger, what a useless human emotion, he thought to himself.

As the Elf walked off in victory, Uroth could not help but to make himself known. No one had ever seen him in his human form that had lived, besides Lilliath. And he would never kill someone that his Master had let live. Still, he needed to confront the elf. He needed to make himself known as Lilliath's first hand man. The human emotions claimed his soul.

He stepped in front of the Elf just as he walked away from the trio of dead demons. His face was dark and serious. Yet, his stance was casual.

"Elf, I won't hurt you. I cannot go against my Master's wishes." Uroth spoke menacingly. "But do not dare show your face to her again. I cannot always be so forgiving."

He turned away from the Elf.

"You should go to the town from whence you came. There are demons sent there to attack at any moment. If you value your friends you will do your best to hurry."

Luke walked to the gates after watching Kikyo go with James. As he arrived he could see a traveller that appeared hurt. "Demon wounds.." The man approched luke and asked him "what happened here" Luke sighed. "well..il give you the short vershion..Demons took over the Kujin empire and as far as i know this is the last human settlement." Luke eyed the mans wounds. "your hurt..hold on.." Luke turned to one of the healers. "come here he needs help" He said as the woman came over and examined the man.

The appearance of the man surprised Leon, but not so much as to show it visibly. I couldn't sence him... Odd... When the man turned to leave, Leon just stared as usual. "Your name is Uroth... Am I right? Just an extension of Liliath's power..."

Kikyo spent a while with James. She was getting kind of bored, but James seemed interested in her potions book.
'So that's why I gave up on classes...' She thought, cause she remembered they were as boring as hanging with an old man and talking about one potion. Sometimes her classes would last longer than days on one subject. She sighed and continued on with making the potion.

James sighed. "well..hmm.." he flipped through a few pages of the book. "ohhh..heheh...this one seems well suited for luke..." James holds the book in his hand and shows a potion for turning a corrupted human into a pure demon. "dont you think?!" he said loudly.

Asura looked surprised. "This cant be the last human settlement, there's another village a few days back that I was at." He looked at the man. "I was just there. You see, I'm a wanderer. I would have run into these demons sooner, right? The first that I've seen them were a few hours back. It just doesn't make sense."

"What's wrong with Luke?" Kikyo asked, confused. "And why are you leafing through my potions book? We are looking for a medical healer not a transformation!" she was getting stressed out a bit, but trying her hardest to keep a level head.

Uroth clenched his fist tightly while holding his anger back the best he could. He yearned to reveal his Demon's true nature, but knew that the Elf's death would be assured if he did. He could battle his own self loathing over his mistake later.

Still....

He drew his Claymore quickly and aimed for the Elf's throat. Despite being weak and lacking the ability to kill, he meant to get his message across.
