Whether Setsushi is as shocked and panicked as the other men is uncertain, as his emotions are concealed behind a tight wall and his expression obscured by the elaborate veil about his face. But his voice does come out in a slow stutter: "W, w, well, if you are sure that is wise--"
"Melody knows more about giving birth than you do," Rika cuts him off, dismissive; she seems the only one who seems hardly fazed. ... Probably. She leans in over Melody's shoulder to eye the watch as well, chewing her lip as she tries to do mathematical conversions in her head.
"Though perhaps you will wish to move somewhere a bit more comfortable and pursue quieter distractions later...?" she murmurs in a low voice.
Setsushi, wringing his hands a little, doesn't know what to do, but rather than follow the men lurks near Rika and Melody, as if his protective instinct has been triggered.

Melody nods at Rika (and avoids looking at Setsushi, let she burst out laughing), turning the watch over in her hands.
For now, though, she wants to move around and surround herself with music and friends. When she tires-- and she knows she will fairly quickly-- she plans on sleeping at home as much as she can, just like her Aunt Luna suggested.
She'll need a lot of energy, after all. 3nodding

Rika leans back, rubbing her chin and frowning, then gazing off in the direction Hitsuga and Boyue went. "... The problem will be keeping them distracted, I think."
... ... ... And gazing at the fretting Setsushi, an idea strikes her, a smile spreading across her features. "And so, we will require them to play the dance-machine," she says.
Loud enough for Setsushi to hear and visibly cringe. eek

Boyue finishes with the glasses and motions to Hitsuga that he's ready to head back to his wife and the others. He's getting a little less nervous and excited until he spots Melody and is reminded of the current situation.
Boyue hopes the babies come easily...

Offering what he hopes are a flurry of steady reassurances to Boyue, as if he's one to be reassuring anyone at all, he trails after him back to the others, unaware of what has been conspired while they were gone.
Flinching sharply away from the loud downbeat of another song beginning, he hastily recollects himself, checking to ensure he's not spilled any of what he's carrying down the front of his clothes, finding that he still seems to be all right...
Allowing Boyue to tend to Melody, he looks to the other two.
Would Lady Rika or Master Setsushi like a glass of water, he inquires?

Oop! That looks like Melody's cue.
Miss Rika, Melody hopes she realizes that if she wants to have any chance of Boyue playing the dance machine, he'll have to have someone go up there with him. And even then, Miss Rika's in for a tough fight.
She might have better luck with Hitsuga.

"Masters," Rika says, addressing the returning pair in particular (as Setsushi has already received this speech,) "it would be a shame to leave this festival without winning a set of commemorative trinkets from the dance machines. But as Melody is too pregnant and I am too frail..."
She pauses to gesture dramatically at them.
"You two must play the game for us, I am afraid."
... Setsushi's off the hook?!

Hitsuga's expression shifts from one of harried politeness to one of dumbfounded confusion with, perhaps, a hint of terror underlying it. The declaration has, for the moment at least, temporarily made him forget Melody's labor. Or, in fact, that Melody is even there.
....what?

Melody's encouragement of Hitsuga (and Boyue, though she's less likely to force him up on that dance stage) will have to wait--

Boyue is...sorry that they will miss out on the tokens, but he simply can NOT get out on those dance machines. Physically can't do it. His body would not move closer to them if he wanted it to. He does apologize, but it simply will not happen.
Besides, he would rather stay close to his Melody in case she has need of him.
He watches her carefully for signs of pain, noting the watch-checking as a primary symbol of it. He wonders if his Melody would not like to go home and perhaps relax or get some pain medications or something?

Pain medication? "Boyue, you doof!" Melody wants to say, but has to settle for projecting the sentiment rather than saying it aloud. Melody is perfectly fine, and when she is NOT fine, he will be the first she alerts!
But she is fine, the pain is bearable, and she wants to stay on her feet and move around!
And if Boyue's body won't move closer to those machines, maybe Melody could help nudge it... whee

"And it is not as if Melody is some wilting flower who cannot endure a little bit of pain," Rika says to Boyue, peering at him loftily through her monocle.
She laughs softly, a bit dismissively. To herself, she ponders how male scholars are all like this -- imagining their wives to be incapable of enduring a papercut when, in fact, they have been learning to endure agony on a regular basis since they were youths...
"When she needs medicine, you will know."
... Setsushi, though, can't help Rika is being a bit rude, and looks between her and the couple anxiously.

Now, now... Melody interrupts a bit awkwardly, holding up her hands. Boyue means well; he really does! And it's Melody's fault, a little bit, for going off to the Silver World for a few months and springing this on him two months too soon! Melody thinks that maybe, perhaps, if she were a little more thoughtful than simply thinking that as long as she got back before he woke up, it'd be okay, they would've had time to study this sort of thing together!
Right?
But, she gently informs Boyue, Miss Rika's right, too. Melody already talked to Auntie Luna, after all, and knows what she's in for. And she promises that she'll have something to numb the pain when she needs it. And she won't need it until she's in the hospital. 3nodding

Boyue blushed, all but hiding behind Melody. He is very sorry if he gave the impression he didn't think Melody could handle this. It is more that Boyue cannot handle it! There is not really anything he can do to help her except offer to help her by getting her things to help her feel more comfortable, and so that is what he is trying to do!
He is quite aware that his Melody can take care of herself, but he does like to at least try to take care of her a little bit too....

Boyue can help Melody, she answers resolutely, grabbing his wrist, by dancing with her. Slow dancing, of course. 3nodding
