At Eachother's Throats [PRP]

"I don't have to deal with this..." She huffed and pulled herself up out of the mud, shaking herself off and stepping out. "I'll find my stone later...when the company isn't so...lacking."

"I didn't mean to, you know, insult you. I just thought maybe you didn't know what mocking meant. Cause, I wasn't mocking you. Really." Glitch blinked. "Hey, what are you looking for?" he asked. He had been planning to get Maguire to demudify the princess, if she'd started behaving better.

"There's more than one type of mocking you know...and I'm looking for a milky white stone with green streaks through it..."  

[IsisMagic]

"Oh. Whatcha need that for?" Glitch asked.

"I need it to unlock a greater power inside of me. My cousin said that if I found a large enough slice, it would greatly improve my capabilities. Why are you so interested all of the sudden? I didn't think a commoner like yourself would want to stick around someone like me."  

[IsisMagic]

"True. You are kinda a brat," Glitch shrugged. "I've got a natural curiosity. So, it's like your Grimmerie."

"What's a grimmerie? It soulds like a painful thing..."  

[IsisMagic]

"It's a magic book," Glitch said. "It can only be read by witches. It's how my mom gained so much power." Glitch got bored just standing around and started swishing the mud around with his hoof. He hit something solid. Looking down, he said, "Ooooooo! Shiny!"

"What'd you find?" She moved quickly, trying to see what he'd found.  

[IsisMagic]

"It's a shiny. And it's mine." Glitch picked up the white and green stone. "I'm going to polish it up and put it in my study with my collection of interesting things." Glitch nodded.

"Um...Excuse me? But did you forget that I was looking for a stone like that? I need it, it's mine."  

[IsisMagic]

"Well, I need a flying machine. That doesn't mean I can just go and steal one. I found it." Glitch looked from the stone to the girl and back again. This was eerily like that book Murtaugh told him not to read. With the ring and the guy who killed his friend over it and then turned into a monster . . .

Nienna's patience was wearing very thin. "Alright fine. You keep the rock and I hope that it steals every last ounce of power that you and your family have. I am through playing with you." She turned away and headed back across the meadow, tears streaming down her dirty face.

"Oh," Glitch said sadly. "I made her cry." He looked from the rock to the retreating girl, still covered in mud. He felt ashamed. "Hey, wait! Don't cry!" He yelled, running awkwardly after her.

"Too late. I've tried being nicer to you...and you've still burned me...you're not so high and mighty yourself!" Her voice was cracking and her frustration was clearly visible.
