Rondel considered that. Getting back to Melody was top on her priority list but the opportunity to learn something was also very enticing.
"Well..." she stopped to consider. "How bout...I'll dance for you and payment for showing me the way back to the plains and for you telling me anything interesting you wish to share." she said thinking that that was pretty fair.

"I have nothing more to share child..." she said, sighing a bit and moving to lay down. "Though I've never heard of a soquili dancing. What purpose does it serve? If any..." she said, keeping one eye on the foal.

Rondel snorted. "Everyone has something to share." she stopped and considered her answer. "I dunno really...to show off one's grace and elegance? To be entertaining? But most importantly, because its fun." she said. "I think my parents danced with each other, for them it was a symbol of their love." she nodded feeling satisfied with that answer.

The mare nodded slightly and closed her eyes in thought. Perhaps it would be interesting to learn something new from the foal. Something new the mare could offer when she needed something in return. She did have many debts to pay off after all, and it's not like she had foals or family of her own to offer as collateral.
"Alright. Go ahead little one. Teach me what you know and I might consider showing you what herbs you can use in the wild and where to get them."

Rondel practically squealed with excitement before composing herself. She needed to calm down and collect her thoughts and plan her movements. She didn't think the mare would be interested in one of her more energetic bouncy dances.
The little filly took a deep breath and carefully and gracefully tossed her head the bell in her mane letting out a soft chime. She then stretched out her front leg and twisted carefully sending the bells on her right side chiming out clearly while managing to mute the ones on her left. From there she stamped her hooves in a rhythmic pattern sending up more clear perfect sounds. She continued on for several more minutes letting her body guide her movements to let her bells weave a song around her, before finally stopping and looking up at the mare again her sides moving with her increased breathing.

Guedes watched closely. Every move the foal made was perfect. Every step was tune to each of the bells through her mane and hanging around her body. She had even found a way to silence bells without touching or covering them with anything.
To put it bluntly, the mare was amazed. Where had this foal learned such a trivial talent? The only thing she could assume were her parents or a two-legger. It still seemed so strange though. "How...how do you do this?"

"My momma told me the general idea, and I just sort of figured the rest on my own. I already had the instinctive talent from both her and Papa." she said with an outwardly serene smile, but inside she was smug knowing she'd impressed the mare. She was also proud of herself. Her first dance without Melody and she'd done well.
"But you just...move in the way your inner music tells you to move. It helps when you have bells to help you keep the tempo, but I think anyone could do it if they put their mind to it." she went quiet for a few minutes letting the silence in between them before finally looking back up. "Is that worth a trade of knowledge?" she asked.

"Perhaps." Guedes said quietly, looking away from the foal and around her home for something. The only thing she could offer in return was the knowledge of healing herbs and poisonous plants. Anything else would do nothing but bring trouble down on the little one.

Rondel giggled happily. "So, did you wanna start showing me back?" she asked. "We can talk on the way, and I guess you want me out of your mane now." she said turning back towards the entrance waiting for the mare to show her the way through the underbrush.

Guedes sighed and stood up, gathering up an empty pouch to take with her and collect as she needed along the way. It was going to be a long night with the talkative foal.
"Alright, hold on." She muttered, before following her out and looking carefully around the overgrowth of the marsh. Good, no one else was around. The mare nudged Rondel out of the way and blocked off the entrance to her home before turning and heading back for the water.

Rondel watched the careful preparations that the mare took with her home. She decided then and there if she ever decided to have a permanent residence she'd take just as good care of it as the mare took with hers.
She watched silently for a few more minutes before trailing after the mare back to the water. "So what are you looking for? Maybe I can help." she said.

She snorted and moved to walk behind Rondel and nudge her through the safer and much shallower water.
"Nothing I can't get alone. I have to go far out of our way to collect most of it and the rest I can gather on the way back so I don't carry the weight around the entire time." She said, moving on ahead again once past the water. She hated having to take the longer route, but in the end it was safer for the little one.

Rondel made a face and stepped into the water, quickly wading through to the other side. "Oh, okay." she said shaking water from herself raising a ruckus with her bells.
Once satisfied she raced to catch back up with the mare and trailed after her taking in the sights of the swamp. "Fascinating." she said watching the glow of the moon on the water.

"Not really. Not after this long living here." She muttered, ignoring most everything around her, including the fireflies hovering around them. Nothing was new anymore except for other soquili showing up more and more frequently in the marshes around her home. It was beginning to become more of a pain than it was to welcome the company.

"I still think its pretty. The light the water, the fireflies...its like a painting." she quickened her pace to look up at the mare. "Don't you take joy in every day? Look at as a new opportunity to learn, to achieve, to create?"
Rondel was at a loss for how anyone could not appreciate the scenery around them. Even only being a foal she still took joy in every day.
