Oh, even if people were secretly rolling eyes over the (fairly discrete) PDA, Yossarian didn't care. Sure, back in Xeric town they probably could've earned a broken bone for their little display... but the Occello seemed entirely disinterested or, at worst, passive enough to just shrug it off. Hell, some of them were rubbing beaks further down the beach anyway! They were hardly alone in the 'romantic' thing!
"I haven't any complaints against that," he confessed rather... blatantly, for him anyway, with a shrug. His meal? Already nearly plowed through in its entirely, polishing off the last few bites of that last chewy, fishy, better-than-he'd-ever-admit taco and perhaps even secretly enjoying it.
Man, it felt good to be full and sitting in a nice city.
"... So, then..." Actually finished (the second wrapper went under his boot with the first, and with his hands free, he was actually brave enough to drape an arm around her shoulder). "I suppose after this we'll be just... walking the length of the pier to gain our bearings, hmm?"
Yes, and maybe finding themselves some new clothing to wear-- ... since he didn't realize Hanna and Jade were already stocking up like nobody's business on their behalf.
Yeah, and the little therapist had picked out a whole SLEW of violet for him, because she already KNEW his color and now the only real trick left was getting a couple of outfits for herself. One red, definitely... and maybe a bright green (more 'emerald' than 'army', for lack of any less cliche comparison), and... hmm, gray? White? She'd just try them on later; so long as it was vaguely her size, she could make it work.
Anyway, though, she'd accumulated quite the stack, though, and looked over at her dear comrade in arms expectantly. "That they will! Though... I think I may be approaching my carry limit on this end, unfortunately. Should we wrap up and pay soon?"
Oh yes, and hopefully get a good couple of canvas bags to load up in, and then move on for... well, whatever else they were going to move on to! Those two hadn't eaten yet, nor had they found much of anything pharmacological, which... well, Hanna could've definitely used.
On the note of paying, it seemed like Shae's hilariously feeble splurge was just fine with their funds, actually mustering up a thin (if not tired) smile as she passed over the books, her good arm aching from the support of all that weight (all three books were pretty damn thick), but relieved, at least, to be rid of it.
"Oh that's... that's good to know, then."
Things were starting to look up for real, huh? Del, perched on her shoulder and twitching with excitement, certainly seemed to think so and... well, even if she was already tired, and hungry, and a little more worn out than she should've been, the straggly halfbreed thought so, too.
"So... Was there anywhere you wanted to go?" she prompted quietly, having figured that... well, she'd gotten to pick the first place they headed, in a way, so it was his turn for the next destination-- right?
So what would it be? Food, supplies? To her, it was all the same.

Hey, at least it wasn't like Aster was attempting to completely romance her man on the beach. -That- would have been uncouth! That and Yossarian wouldn't even do that when they were alone in a room all of their own. Would NEVER happen on the beach.
.... ......
OKAY YES, FINISHING HER NOMS INSTEAD OF BEING ALL TEE-HEE'D AND STUFF. Yeah, food was good... and it wasn't too long before Aster finished off the second taco was well, her stomach now fully satiated from the meal. Certainly she was a little dry, but a drink could wait until they got back to their little abode. She wasn't dehydrating herself yet, afterall.
"I think that sounds fine. A good dose of spare clothes is what we need. Then we can just go where we see fit." Aster confirmed, glancing around for a quick-check, before she leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
NOT TOO EMASCULATING SHE HOPED.
"I think we'll need to make a trip back to the Inn after paying. I hardly think we'll be able to carry that much clothing with us all about the town." Jade chimed, obviously amused. Then again, he was always oh-so-amused by Hanna's fervor. Well, when she was in her state-of-usualness anyways.
Then again, they didn't set off each-other's 'creep-o-meters', so all was well between them.
"But I think we better not get too absorbed in clothing the kids. They're probably going to want to get some things for themselves."
"Well, we'll see what we come across first." Kanda answered, the bagged books being carried over one of his arms, the other offered to Shae again. As long as Shae had some sort of nice little 'plus' in her life, he didn't mind entertaining her whims.
She'd been depressed enough the last few weeks for it to bother him.
Ha ha.
However...
"I will be needing to pick up a knife to....trim my hair with. It's getting longer than I'd like to have to care for.."
GRUMBLEGRUMBLEHEDIDN'TJUSTSAYTHAT. Ha ha. Yossarian likely would have CACKLED MANIACALLY at it. Then again, the two swordsmen did delight in the suffering of the others.

Come to think of it, Yossarian, too, could've used a good drink to slick his throat down-- but very much like Aster, he had no problems holding out until they got back (or another opportunity presented itself) and so, without further ado... beyond her teasing kiss, he streeetched his back out with a discrete tensing of the muscles until every vertebrae gave a sharp crack, released his hand from her shoulder and, grabbing his 'trash' paper, stood.
"Well then..." His free hand, however, was offered to her as a service to pull herself upright. "I suppose we should be about our way, then. No use dawdling any longer when we'll see plenty of the ocean our way."
Yes, it was time to get up and move again! Off and away, to shopportunities!
... or whatever that hideous abomination of a pseudo-word was.
(They'd find a way to make it 'pleasurable', surely.)
"True enough." As much as Hanna would have liked to just continue about their way, she couldn't deny that Jade had a very valid point since, well... hauling around so many pounds of fabric had to get old after a while, so dropping it off in their room was undoubtedly for the best... and besides--
"You know," she mused, grinning almost mischievously, "once we get back, we could even change into something more... region appropriate." Oh, yes; they could dress up and throw on one of their new outfits, couldn't they? She certainly looked forward to that. "I'm sure these will feel infinitely better than... well, the hodgepodge we've dealt with until now."
Oh yes, TRULY clean clothes... but as soon as Jade had paid, OFF AND AWAY, right? (Yeah, she kind of rhymed!)
Life was excellent, wasn't it?
Hell, even Shae could've attested to that much, accepting her newly purchased books back in that convenient bag, which she could set over her good shoulder and not bog up that one precious hand of hers with. Now, though, it seemed that... oh, yes-- he probably needed a haircut too, huh? She hadn't really noticed a dramatic change with it in recent weeks but, stealing a glance at him from the corner of her eye, she noted that his bangs were fairly unruly compared to their usual cleanliness... and that ponytail was probably a couple inches longer than usual, huh?
"Well... I'm sure they sell small knives and sheers around here somewhere," she mumbled, actually trying-- genuinely making an effort-- to be positive as they limped back on out to the boardwalk. Sure, Occello didn't have hair or anything, but they had to trim their feathers or down or something, right? Even if not, just a small pocket knife would do fine, or maybe some old fashioned scissors-- anything with a decent cutting edge.
God, and SHE needed a trim just as badly, too.
In the meanwhile, though... tired or not, walking was alright. Eventually, surely, they'd find some kind of shop with something workable, right?

It wasn't a =tease= kiss! It was a 'we're in public and I don't want to get too PDA-y out here!' kiss! Well, actually she wouln't have -mind- it, but she knew -he- would have... so it was more for Yossarian's benefit that he got 'teased' than because Aster was being spiteful.
She took the offered hand and hoisted herself up with it... but didn't exactly let GO of it once she was up, just squeezing down on it a little bit tighter. TEE HEE <3<3<3<3! However, first things first, Aster sought out a trash bin to toss the butcher paper into, as littering wasn't on the top of her 'to do' list either. But beyond that...
"Well, I'm sure there are plenty of places for us to stop and look around~!" Aster agreed with the 'getting our move on' statement, looking at the several tents that had been set up along the edge of the beach. Well! "I mean, we certainly have been given enough places to look!"
"I'd certainly like to be out of this heavier fabric, for sure!" Jade agreed as he paid the Flamingo-colored woman for the PILE of clothing between the pair, which in turn earned him a few bags to put it all in. Woo hoo!
But with clothing bagged and paid for... (The universal currency was somewhat surprising to him, actually), Jade again offered Hanna an arm.
"Shall we?"
"They probably don't have barbers around here..." Kanda noted in a sort of grim manner, as it probably wouldn't have been too effective for anybody around here to OPEN such a thing. Everybody had feathers!! But Shae had an effective idea in the vein of 'Hai, let's find a sharp object to cut hair with'. That and it would be a little bit less insulting to his manly ego.
"I could use a blade sharpener for Mugen, at that." he added to the idea, pondering if there was some sort of 'Kitchen Supply' or 'Army Supply' or whatever sort of store chillin' around the area. He certainly hadn't seen anything yet, but with all of the fishing that was bound to be happening around there, there had to be -something-!

Thankfully, the city was well structured enough to have adequate waste bins stationed from street to street, too, so he didn't have to drag his taco papers around for too long before they were harmlessly dumped away with Aster's, and the duo was now truly free to go about their way. To what, though, exactly? That seemed like the big question on one swordsman's mind. Clothing, probably... but where to get it?
So long as they didn't wind up crossing paths with yet another wicked pair, he couldn't have cared less about that part, keeping his eyes peeled as they went, looking from shop to store to vendor to shop again. Good lord, this place seemed to have a lot of different things for sale.
"... A whole avenue and retail and not one--" he started, but stopped immediately as the words died in his throat because, sure enough, near the end of the boardwalk... there it was! Or rather, there a somewhat small building with clothing in the front was, and a very unusual looking (apparent) 'seller' tending said front, too. It certainly wasn't an Occello because they (he?) didn't have one feather on them, but calling 'him' a Xeric didn't seem right either... because he was only about 5 feet tall, terribly unimposing, and instead of scales, was covered in slick, wet, blue-and-brown skin, with a long, paddle-like tail.
... Were those black baylk eyes, too? But it sure WASN'T a baylk.
"Morning there!" he greeted them, naturally, noticing how Yossarian eyed the place. "Can I help you two? You seem a little lost--" And terribly dressed! "--if you don't mind me saying."
And while they (hopefully) FOUND some new outfits, Jade and Hanna were busy dragging their new 'catch' on back towards home base, the latter just beaming brightly as a sunny rainbow while they went and, of course, happy to skip with her arm in her dearest companion's. Happiness was what you made of it, or so the saying went, and she had no issue reveling in the small stuff.
Life was pretty good, after all! And soon, they'd both be prancing about in fresh, breezy, region-appropriate (not to mention comfortable) new clothes!
"I think you should try that blue one first," she noted teasingly, "I want to see it on you."
Oooh, that silly little therapist-- but hey! They were almost back already, before they even knew it. How joyful.
"Hmm..." Meanwhile, though, the last outing-duo was currently searching for... both something to cut hair with AND a sharpener for a sword, what joy! Well then, the logical place for that was... yes, something like a kitchen supply, probably, because Shae found it hard to believe this city had a large demand for military fair.
It was a journey that had taken them off the boardwalk completely, even, and a bit more inland, but--
"... What about that?" she piped up rather suddenly upon catching the sight of a rather humble and unimposing hanging wood sign. It read Palmiro's Seaside General, albeit in withered letters... a general store just had to have some of everything, right?
It couldn't hurt to peek inside, at least, and if they were lucky, they might strike gold!

Well! It looked like they weren't -completely- without a clothing boutique to look through! It had just been trying to hide or something. Well, that and she imagined if there were too MANY clothing shops the city would have a completely different problem to deal with. Hmmm.
"Nope~ We found what we're looking for~" Aster chimed in answer, barely passing the figure a glance (out of not wanting to be caught gawking), before going to look through the clothing that was on display curiously. Hmmm... Certainly she could tell the 'style' that was to be had was very much interesting.
But at least they were somewhat catering to Kanus there, which helped with the tail issue.
"See anything you like, Yossarian?"
"Certainly~"
Jade was more than happy to oblige Hanna in her choice of what he should wear, happily taking off the canvas shirt to pull on the blue tunic that she'd picked out for him, fussing with it's fit a little, before fishing out a pair of the khaki shorts as well.
"If I'm going to cause the sun to reflect off of me," which is because it refuses to try and burn me "I might as well go the whole nine yards!"
Oh god.
Pale Jade-Flesh going to give everybody eyeburns. AIEE. Though then you'd see him coming from a mile away! HMMM...
Kanda looked at what it was Shae was pointing out to him. A general store? It seemed to be at least worth a shot for finding a knife to do a haircut bit with. Sharpening Mugen wasn't TOO horribly difficult for him to wait on doing. Would have been nice, at least.
"Well, we'll see if there's a decent knife in there at least.." he grumbled, pulling the door open (and holding it open for Shae first) and entering, looking over the set-up to see where his best 'starting' bet for browsing would be.
Hmmm...

"Alright, then!" the strange not-quite-Xeric chirped quite happily, his big, paddled tail swishing with what had to be pleasantness before he shrugged and went back to organizing the shop front. Yeah, it was pretty clear that he probably ran the place, or at least was hired to tend it, and Yossarian certainly didn't mind so long as he proved nonviolent about it.
Speaking of, the dark male mechnically began to filter through racks shortly after Aster did, his features remaining largely impassive, but maybe, just maybe, belying a hint of curious interest.
Unlike Jade and Hanna's little hotspot, this place seemed to have-- aside from the standard tunic cut tops and pants-- a fairly broad spectrum of water clothes, and even some things made of 'foreign' fabric, like the occasional silks. Clearly, it was all made for the weather here, though: breathable, appropriately thin, and surprisingly soft--
"Hnn? Oh... so long as it's fairly comfortable, I'm... indifferent to any preferences," he answered as passively as he could-- but really? Oh, he probably did prefer looking nice over looking ratty-- and he probably was secretly gravitating towards certain colors, too. "... Have you found anything suitable?"
HA, well, even if they failed, there'd be plenty for them whenever they got back to their little seaside inn, what with Hanna and Jade having bought everyone a small pile of goods and then some. Currently, though, the little therapist was rifling through her own (... comparatively scant, actually) few choices, appearing to debate between tops. Hmm, hmm...
"Oh?" But of course she just had to stop and look behind her when Jade mentioned something, and just had to grin at the sight of him. "Well, well, aren't you looking dapper there, Mister Curtiss? You'll be shooing off local women in no time, striding about like that."
As for her, well... hmmmm... red. Yes, she picked out that nice strong scarlet top-- the good old fallback color (with some little gold edges) to tug on in turn, fixing up the front buttons and then swiftly grabbing up the matching long short (... some of them did come as 'outfits' after all) before straightening to take a look at herself.
It sure felt a lot better than those giant Xeric bags, to say the very least! Talk about a proverbial weight off the chest.
Naturally Shae and Kanda got a slightly peculiar look from the guy at the front of the 'general' store too but, in a fashion that seemed fairly common about the city, it only lasted a moment before he seemed to lose interest, shrug it off, and ignore the pair as they slipped in to go about their shopping adventure. With mumbled thanks, the smaller of the pair trailed along on her partner's tail, drinking in the place as astutely as she could in some attempt to figure out where they needed to head... hmmmmm...
"Ah... maybe we should check near the back?..." she offered, the best she could come up with-- and really, there DID seem to be more metal wares and the like in that general direction, right? Right?
Ultimately, though... yeah, she was all for just hanging a half step behind him and following along (while Del, much to her relief, actually behaved and stayed still by her collar).

Aster honestly thought he was quite the amusing looking fellow (when she did sneak a peak), though his appearance did stir some other variety of curiosity on her part..... but first to focus herself on the clothing she had to look through. Some nice looking tunics amongst other things, which she looked over appraisingly, ultimately pulling out a rather nice and airy lilac colored top and holding it up to herself to check the size.
Hmmmmm.....
"What do you think about this?" she asked, obviously putting Yossarian up to the ULTIMATE TASK of giving a female feedback on her clothing choice. Y'know, that thing couples did. At least she wasn't giving him some sort of 'LIE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT OR I'LL CRY AT YOU' look.
She wasn't -threatening- him to like it.
"Well, it's certainly much lighter than how the Xeric dress themselves." the colonel appraised, giving himself another glance in the mirror before, like certain other individuals, having to sigh and look at how LONG his hair was getting. Why, he could practically put it back in a ponytail at the rate he was going!!
He'd have to get a haircut sometime later tonight.
"Back of the store. Right." Kanda agreed, peering at things as he made his way through the store to look for the knife he was seeking.
DEAR KNIFE
WHERE WERE YOU? Unfortunately, the answer to that thought wasn't at the very back of the store like Shae had thought. Hmmm, which meant they needed to go look down...which aisle? There certainly were a lot of places to look in here.
Silly 'General' store!!

Oh, god, he'd all but forgotten the all too female tendency of dressup until now, and for some odd reason, Yossarian's brain just froze up on the spot when Aster asked her completely innocent question, glancing over at the top she'd selected and, for a moment, just blankly staring at it. Well, he was kind of biased with the color, but uh... uh...
"It looks fine," he answered as neutrally as he could. But hey, that was good, right?
"... The color... it stands well against yellow fur," he did add awkwardly after a pause, though, before immediately turning his attentions back to whatever stupid pointless stack he'd been shuffling.
(The water lizard thought this was terribly funny from wherever he was listening, but he thankfully kept his mouth shut.)
On the note of purple, though, Yossarian himself had wound up procuring a rather sleek looking royal violet tunic top that looked about the right size, with a nice loose, open neck (a little more ornate than he cared for, but whatever) and loose, open sleeves stopping just at the elbows. Hmm...
Well, he might as well, right?
Perceptive as she was, of course, Hanna hadn't missed that appraising look Jade gave his hair-- not could she deny her own need of a haircut. God, her bangs alone were wild, and the rest of it was nearly at her shoulders! It would've taken more effort than normal to pass for a male!
"So, then..." brushing it all back and looping it smartly with a tie, she gave her collar one last adjustment, then cleared her throat out. "Shall we be off again? We haven't got much use idling here any longer, after all!"
Yes, they weren't getting any younger! And besides, they just had to go show off their new ensembles on the street, right?
Okay, sooo maybe the knife hunt wasn't going to be quite as easy as hoped, but surely there was still something around they could use in such a diverse place, right? Discouraged, perhaps, but still looking none the less. Knives, knives... no... there were some pots and pans, cups, spoons and forks in the aisle they wandered down, but-- OH.
"Ah, S-- ... Kanda." She was even brave enough to reach up and give his arm a little tug, gesturing lightly. "... I-I think they have kitchen sheers over there."
Oh, kitchen scissors? That could work! Hell, it was even probably a little better than a straight up knife-- even if it couldn't double as effectively as a weapon or anything. Whatever, though! It was something to work with, and something was always better than nothing, right?

"....."
His awkward pause would have likely roused some variant of '>8C' from most women, having grown offended, but Aster just found the moment of fluster to be sooOOooooOOoo cute! (Hot? Something like that)
"I agree. I certainly can't wear it like you do though. It looks more regal on you." she chimed back, but still held on to the top while looking through her other options. Hmmmm.... well, she sort of just liked the lilac top. None of the colors were jumping out at her just yet.
Or maybe it was more of the styles... Okay, she lied, she just was looking at her options still (maybe she just didn't want to have more -RED- to her name.).
"Well, we'll just have to show the kids how to have a good time~" Jade chipped, ignoring his too-long hair quite easily with the use of a hairtie. Hmmm. Well! Now that he looked utterly ridiculous (See: Likely to attract a plethora of wimmenz), he seemed ready to go!
Yippee!
"Well then! Let's hit the town and get a good feel for it, hmm~?"
"...... I guess those will work fine." Kanda agreed with the unspoken statement, walking over to investigate the scissors, before picking up the most simple looking pair he could find (Last thing he needed was 'fancily crimped' scissors. Ha ha, could you imagine the scrapbooking disaster from that?
HA HA HA. But despite this, it seemed to be enough to cover a basic need that -everybody- was going to have.
"I'll pay for this, then we'll continue our walk." Kanda added with a slight grumble, offering the man who seemed to be heading the shop enough change to cover the scissors before it was time to move on again.
Scissors were scissors. Not a huge desperate trip to be had there.

"..." Yossarian couldn't say much about that whole 'regal' thing without feeling asinine, so instead, he just kept his mouth shut and shrugged it off as casually as he could... but of course that didn't remove the violet top from his 'to buy' stack, either. In fact, he (almost secretly) decided to get a second in a slightly lighter shade, tucking it discretely under the first before moving on to another rack of so.
"She's right, you know," although it seemed he wasn't about to get off scott free and silent, because the water lizard, of all people, had actually chosen to pipe up as he sauntered inside-- probably having finished whatever tidying of the outer wares and shifting to some inside sorting. "Purple's a nice color against your skintone-- ... well, fur tone, I guess. And for you, Miss..."
Wait, wait, what was he doing? It seemed he'd taken it upon himself to pull out a... well, it was kind of like a feminine tunic shirt with a longer waist, but also something of a dress top with very thin straps, in a most striking bright turquoise color with deeper blue-green trim.. and even some floral patterns sewn in. "I think this would look lovely with some good brown shorts," he suggested, holding it out to her (what a sneaky salesman). "It'd make a beautiful contrast to the yellow and white."
"Let's!" nodded Hanna, still smiling ever the while before, without further ado, heading for the door. With their outfits now nicely region appropriate and their hair all tethered back, there was nothing left to do but head off and into the wide blue (... ish) yonder, yes? Of course! ONWARDS, TO THE.. well, probably the pharmacies and definitely a spot of lunch somewhere if they ran across it. Who needed concrete plans, huh? It was always just more fun to improv.
And hey, they weren't the only ones managing to check more from their to-do list in quick succession, as it seemed Shae and Kanda had finally secured a workable (... not so arty crafty) pair of scissors to trim up with once they got back. "Alright," was all she really needed to mumble, shifting her own little book bag on that good shoulder and, patiently, waiting for the payment exchange before they were free to... uh.
Were they heading out again?
She actually didn't know, come to think of it. Was Kanda still out to find himself a sword sharpener-- or did they give that up in lieu of just being lucky enough for scissors? Was he hungry? Was she hungry? Did they need clothes?
"So... where to?" she had to ask awkwardly by the door, for lack of anything else to go on. "I mean... uh... did you still want to find something for Mugen, or?..."
(Ha, yeah, like the sword was sentient.)

OoOOooooh! Smart salesman indeed. Aster was more than open to the clothing-propaganda that was offered up to her, taking the shirt to hold it up like she had the lilac one earlier. HMMMMMM!!! She certainly seemed to perk up happily enough at the new color she'd been given to wear.
Hey! Colors were fantastic!!
"Are you going to pick out anything else, Yossarian?" she asked, looking to the swordsman before moving from 'her' side of the display to stand by him, offering him the two shirts she had accumulated to start some sort of 'pile'. Hey! She was going to keep looking over stuff, ever so happy to be having the opportunity to actually own CLEAN clothing again!
Which on that note...
"Do we have anything WORTH washing back home or are we completely restocking ourselves with clothing?" she inquired, pondering to herself if she hadn't utterly destroyed all of her clothing or not. Hmmm.
Bluish yonder, go!!
There was something that Jade made a point of aiming towards finding though. Food was something that could wait until perhaps he could fanangle an Aster into the kitchen (to make him a sammich). So instead...
"We should hit up a pharmacy first~ There will always be food waiting for us when we come back~" he mused, looking at the buildings as they passed them by. HmmMMmmm. Where was a Pharmacy for them to go and raid in a joyous doctoresque way?
"Mugen will manage." Kanda answered to Shae's inquiry, looking about the stre-..... Okay, there was a therapist and a crazy colonel walking towards the two of them. UMMMMMMMMM.... .... .......
"Let's go find some sort of lunch to be had before we continue on."

The little water lizard seemed just delighted for such open reception of his opinion, but knew better than to push any stylistic advice with the woman's grumpier partner and thus, with a pleasant shrug, slipped right back off to go fuss with more stock. Yossarian might have leered at him while he retreated, too... if he hadn't been distracted by the aforementioned woman and her darned questioning.
"Hnn?" It caused him to look down at his stack, which had piled up... oh, some shirts, and a sparse amount of trousers, and... maybe one pair of long shorts, if only to relieve him a little from the constant pervasive semi-tropical warmth (... and okay there were swim trunks, but he'd just pretend they slipped in there by accident OKAY SHUT UP, EVERYONE). " ...I doubt there's much of anything worth salvaging in our old wares." Then, a pause, seeming to recall her other question. "And I think I've accumulated enough for now," he decided, with a nod. "Have you?"
If so, it was time to pay and move on to... er, anywhere else they needed-- or even just head back to relax. Anything remotely like that was sounding more fabulous by the minute.
Buuut anyway, seemed like Hanna and Jade were about to leave, another duo was unwittingly headed right towards them and, before poor, victimized Shae and Kanda could bolt, the little therapist picked them out of the distant crowd and grinned, waving cheerfully. "Heeey, there, you two! Having fun?"
"..." Yeah, Shae was all for just nodding at Sir's request and bailing the hell out of there before anyone had the idea of a bigger group outing, to say the least.
"... Ha, looks like they're out to run from us," Hanna mused, perfectly uninsulted by the fact that they were apparently a figure of terror to the younger pair. Hell, if anything, it seemed to entertain her. "I guess we really are frightful in the eyes of youth, hmm? Well..."
Hmm, she actually had to pause there to think a little. "Should we head another way, I suppose? Leave them to shake in their boots privately?"
It probably would've been the humane thing to do, and no doubt the 'victims' in question would've appreciated it but... oooh, terrifying them would've been SO fun!
(Shae just wished she could've limped faster than she already was.)

Aster 'hmmm'ed over her rather modest (by female standards...) accumulation of clothing from their little stop, before nodding. "Yeah, I think I have plenty to get by as long as we don't give up on laundry now that it's a luxury at our fingertips." It was a rather safe assumption to think they'd be ABLE to clean their clothing now that they had something to wear.
Even if some of it would have it's existence denied forever... or until they hit the beach or something. Mmmm, the beach... Wait! BEACH!!
"Hey, can we stop somewhere to possibly pick up a sun-balm to keep me from turning too crispy?" she inquired after he'd paid for the clothing. Hey! Then they'd have it if or when they hit the beach, right?
Well, that was assuming the beach was clear of seals.
Hopefully.
Ha ha ha! The sight of the younger pair practically booking it away from them made Jade chuckle quite a bit.
"Well, they have been trapped in a wagon with us for the last month. I think it's better we let the kids stretch their legs solo from us for a bit. It'll do them some good." he offered as an alternative to them 'running away' (though they probably WERE running away, as opposed to just.. y'know.. chillin'.. )
"Besides, now we don't need to babysit them while we hit up a Pharmacy, yes~?" he added as an extra 'good' thing for 'em while looking at the shops they passed. HMM, ANYPLACE FOR THEM TO NAB MEDICATION??
AND SUNSCREEN.
(Oh god, possibly run-in, imminent!)
Oh yes, Kanda had moved just as quickly when Shae started her limp-away-quickly-from-doom-prz... though not as desperately as he could have. Hmmm. HMMMMMM. WellLLLllll....
"Perhaps we should duck in somewhere for food."

"... Alright, then." Without further ado (or at least, Yossarian figured), it as time to pay for their goods-- undoubtedly a lot less than Jade and Hanna accumulated, sure, but they weren't really out to clothe the whole group. Like a true gentleman, the dark male took Aster's pile from her to throw on top of his own and head to the register--
"Hnn?" But he'd naturally had to pause and contemplate her other question while the water lizard, tallying up his wares, just smiiiled and discretely pretended not to listen. "Oh... I suppose we could--"
"There's a little place two more streets inland than this with some specialty products like that-- it's called 'Skin Deep'," their 'kindly' cashier piped up, ever the helpful one. "They have some decent lotions and sunscreen for us skin-baring types-- not too expensive about it, either, considering the import charges and limited market..."
"... Thank you," Yossarian hated to say it, but a thanks was in order to the guy-- who handed him back their purchases in a nice little cloth bag. Glancing back over his shoulder, with a kind of awkward expectation, he cleared his throat. "Shall we, then?..."
Off and awaaay!
"I suppose you're right," and Hanna, naturally, couldn't agree more with the very valid point Jade brought up, just nodding and smiling it off. "Always best to leave that shopping for the adults..." What, so the rest of the group were still kids? By the logic of a 30-something pair, probably!
"You know... I think we should still do something to celebrate--" Wait, celebrate what? The fact that they'd survived the desert with only one ear lost? Or was it-- ... oh, right, she was actually 30 now, huh? "I'm feeling rather festive today-- ... and hungry, come to think of it. What about you?"
What, so they could load up on some good food and drugs and booze for relaxing at the beach? HA, there was a laugh.
But uh... yes, since Kanda and Shae had both VACATED PREMISES AS SWIFTLY AS POSSIBLE, they, too, could find something to eat away from the other pair (or so they hoped), the latter female keeping her pace as swift as she could without getting hopelessly winded.
"I-I think that sounds like a good plan," she agreed hastily, clearly wanting as little to do with their 'elders' as possible. But now the question was... WHERE did they eat? And what?
Either way, she just hoped they'd find something palatable soon, because good lord, her stomach was about to eat itself out of desperation-- even if she wasn't about to say a thing about it.
