Once free of the pass, Nariko glanced over her shoulder to see the creature had finally gotten to the point and stared them down. Ducking away into the forest to get them out of sight, she looked down to Dutch to see him slipping in and out...but she pushed herself to keep going as she shifted him a bit to take on the full brunt of his weight. "Hang in there....did it get you with something?" She nearly gasped out, her body screaming in pain at her from the burning of her muscles to the actual extensive burns on her back.
Just a bit further...
Coming upon the clearing with the spring he had been at earlier since she could detect his scent, the vixen collapsed to her knees roughly; making sure to roll him off her back as carefully as possible and not to allow him to land on his wounded hip. Without another moment she all but tore off her armor to drop it at her side; at least giving her burns a break from the edge of her chest plate rubbing against it and allow her body to cool off. Nariko's chest heaved as she felt a little dizzy from it all, but as her namesake was...she had lots to do before she could rest. Crawling over to his side she looked him over, moreso his hip and the wound which oddle enough wasn't really bleeding.
"C...Can I do anything?" She spoke through her breaths, not sure what she could do other than bandage it.

He felt his stomach churning and his heart going absolutely wild now. And surprisingly, he also felt his body regain energy. Energy he never even had to begin with, but he still couldn't move. It was the oddest sensation ever. "I feel so strange...what was that stuff?" he said out loud. How he was able to move his mouth was beyond him, but it soon hit him. He was completely numb. Like someone had injected morphine into his blood and forgot to tell him.
As he was laid down to the forest floor, he wanted to get his helmet off before the churning effects of his stomach caused him to hurl, but there was no time. He coughed a few times, gagged a bit and soon found similar blue ooze on his the inside of his helmet. "What is this stuff?" he said, not truly hearing anything at all Nariko had said. Finally sound caught back up to him. "Get this helmet off" he said. He didn't know what it was but it was obstructing his view.
"I'm fine. I'm just...really numb" he said, very unsure of how to describe the feeling

Stuff? Nariko tilted her head as she wondered what the heck he was talking about till he had coughed in his helmet and she could see something hit the pane of his visor. Nodding her head she adjusted her weight onto her knees and reached up for his helmet; twisting it off his head before looking in to see the bright blue....whatever it was.
"Whatever it is...it looks similar to that oyster the other day..." She commented and turned the helmet around so he could the stuff inside if he so desired. It wasn't a good sign, and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't concerned....was it poison? "Did it get in through your wound?" She asked, doubting he would go around ingesting it otherwise.
However when he said he was fine, despite her concerns otherwise she shifted her legs to sit down fully; tilting her head back as she kept pushing the pain back in her mind since there was nothing that could be done now anyways with Dutch out of commission and it being in such a tricky spot. God....I ache all over... She thought, pretty sure she'd never been so exhausted in her life.

He didn't need to see the ooze again. He could see if just fine from inside his helmet. He was relieved however to have it off. He found it getting to stuffy inside.
"Yeah..I saw some in the wound when it bit me. I don't know what it is, but it's certainly an odd color for poison" he said feeling the churning of his stomach again. He had the decency to pull himself up and face away from her after coughing up more of the stuff. As soon as it touched the grass it expanded and took over. Just like the stuff that came from the beast's feet when it summoned it's armor. He stared at it with a very bewildered look, trying to figure out exactly what that meant.
It wasn't until he turned his head and looked back to see she wasn't doing well either. "Did it bite you?" he asked, feeling something running down his cheek, wiping it away, and surprise...finding more of the ooze was now seeping from his eyes. "Lovely." he grimaced, flicking it away, now noticing he felt his muscles again

"It is....but it makes sense from everything else we've seen about it from its glow, to the glow of the surrounding sealife...and attacks...and the return of its head." Nariko wouldn't be surprised if it bled blue...but thinking back she wasn't sure if she ever saw it bleed in the first place. Either way this blue substance or whatever it was that made up the entire beast was nothing like on earth; confirming in her mind at least it was an alien for sure.
Not really taking note since she wasn't in the mood to see anything tossed up she lowered her head with a few controlled deep breaths.
However looking up as he addressed her, she shook her head. "No, thank goodness I......" She trailed off, giving a grimace of an expression as he was oozing it from his eyes. Disgusting... She thought, but that much was obvious...her concern wearing more thick. "....have some burns though, didn't quite make it from that one attack." She admitted, it just like something else, but at least she wasn't curled up shaking at the pain and had it under control. "You should start drinking lots of water, maybe flush it out of your system since its already...well yeah. Got your flask on you?"

"I dunno." he shrugged looking at the ooze which had now crystallized and spread a bit. "Very odd stuff..I wonder what it is" he said as he reached over to poke it, but he withdrew his hand quickly as he saw a spark of lightning go from it to his finger. Oddly enough it didn't hurt, but rather it felt very good. Weird.
His attention was brought back to her as he reached for the flask located on the opposite hip of the wounded one. He looked at it, wiped some dirt and grass off and handed it over, feeling that she needed it. "Burns? From the..things on it's back? I got close to one and it didn't feel hot at all." he remarked with a rather concerned look on his face. What an odd encounter...no wonder this thing is dangerous........wait.
Then it hit him. "Holy crap! Remember a loong time ago when that robot thing was talking to you? THAT was the one I saw on the beach talking to that monster" he exclaimed...it was completely random..even for him. And even after he had said it he was wondering where it came from

"If only it was safe enough to get a sample...im sure someone would be able to tell us what it was." Surely with all the characters around someone had to be some kinda brainiac. Watching as he retrieved the flask, she was a little shocked he offered it to her...but despite her earlier notions that he should be drinking it, it would be wise to get the area cleaned. "Thanks..." She smiled lightly and unscrewed the lid, "No....when it was raging out these like, lightning bolts; one caught me. That whip lashing sure didn't feel great though." To be honest it was bearable before that, but it wasn't like she could see what had happened.
Jumping slightly at Dutch's sudden outburst she wondered if that thing had finally caught up to them, but was relieved to hear otherwise. However as she did think back, her expression faltered at the memories...rather wishing not to re-live them; but she did understand. "He didn't seem very dangerous at all....he was a kind little thing if I remember correctly." Despite he probably witnessed one of her worst moods, she was sure he didn't leave with a favorable impression anyways.
Leaning forward and tipping the flask of water to run along her back; it wasn't until the water hit those burns that her eyes really snapped open as she let out a short cry and dropped the container completely. Arching back she hissed out a few profanities under her breath before slamming her fist on the ground. "Hoooooooooooly crap!" She breathed as she shook, her nerves shot from the pain as she gave a small desperate look to Dutch as she turned her back to him. "What the hell kinda burn is it?" She gasped out, unaware the lightning attack had burned away the fur on her lower back making a similar bright red burn along the bare flesh; however the whip marks from the tentacles had already began to blister, deeper ulcerations exposing indicating it was more than the lightning which had made such burns.

"I've been asking around on my travels. Apparently the police are mystified by this and are still researching the element. If there is someone here who knows, then they haven't stepped forward yet." he said with a furrowed concerned look. He had met several strange characters. All the while he pondered trying to figure out someone. "Maybe....there is a Cybertronian who might know..but he's not a friendly guy from what I hear." he said casting a nervous look to the mid distance.
"No I guess not..but I told you he didn't fight the thing..Didn't even move really. So I don't know what went down." he shook his head, practically leaping up from her cry, feeling helpless that he still couldn't move his legs. Before he could ask, he was shown the wounds and immediately he winced. "Eh.....It looks like...Radiation burns" he said with a grimace. He was well accustomed to knowing what they looked like, all thanks to the energy burns of Covenant weaponry...the wounds were almost identical.

Wiping the moisture from the corners of her eyes as her tail twitched with the pain, she let out a sigh and decided it to be best as she remained still for a while at least till the sting became manageable for motion. "Go figure huh, seems typical no one wants to get involved." Especially if it had anything risky involved, people were so spineless. "Why is the cybertronian? I've observed a few ever once and a while..." Maybe she knew of him?
"Radiation?" Nariko tried to contain the surprise in her voice, feeling her chest fall in a slow sigh....no wonder it hurt like no other. Reaching to her armor she dug out a tie from the compartment and gathered all of her hair to toss over her shoulder. She made quick work of braiding the mass before any more could get into her wounds; letting it rest over her shoulder and down her front. "Wild...." There had to be something about this robot guy then....unless there was just no point since he was mechanical.

"I think he would get involved..if he cared more." he said with a sigh and a shrug, looking at the burns as he pulled out a bottle of burn ointment from his pack. "This might sting a bit, but it should make things feel a bit better till someone can look at it" he cautioned as he took some of the cream onto his fingers and gently rubbed it on her back where the marks were. It was certainly not the most pleasant wound. He refrained from gagging again..at least until he had applied the stuff.
"Maybe that little guy can tell us more about that thing? If he talked to it, then he must know something?" he suggested as he whipped his mouth after one last hurl and finished putting away the burn cream.
"Better?" he asked as he tried to look over her shoulder

"Hmmmn?" Nariko looked back to see what he was up to, and surely enough Dutch had pulled out what looked like some ointment. It was amazing what he seemed to have in that medical pack, but she assumed where he came from it was probably all necessary. "Too bad he doesn't, then." She nodded and looked ahead once more, only to tense and let out a sharp hiss of a breath as it stung as warned.
However the sting and pain did subside, leaving a calming sensation and the sensitivity of open tissue dull. Folding her ears down as he once more turned to expel the contents of his stomach, she looked to the flask of water and picked it up; it still had a gulp or two left of water. "Yes...it is. Thank you, Dutch." She sighed out in a state of bliss for her nerves, turning back around to face him with flask in paw to notice he was rather close from obviously helping her but still....she tried not to let it get to her and any pesky blushes under control.
Wiping off the nozzle she turned and handed it back to him, giving a tired smile. "Drink up, you're going to need it. I'll go find somewhere to fill it back up after."

He leaned back against a tree, feeling a bit drained once again. "Maybe someone should ask him." he muttered, half ready to just curl up and fall asleep, but he was soon offered the flask and with no questions asked, he chugged the rest of water he had left and sighed. It wasn't to relieving, but it still felt good to wash out that bitter tangy taste in his mouth.
He let his arm go to the ground and loosened his grip on the flask. He looked at his good leg and tried to move it with no avail. He didn't even bother with his other, but he still tried to look at it. "I'm surprised it isn't bleeding....almost like it was cauterized." he said in a weary shock

Tossing him a look, she really didn't have a clue who he was talking about since he never disclosed a name. "Hopefully someone will." It was a hellavu long walk to the other side of the island for seafood after all; and she supposed the sooner the mystery of the beach was solved the better it would be.
Folding her ears back against her hair, she felt rather helpless as she watched him flop his arm back down; obviously still feeling the effects of whatever was injected into his body. Reaching out and taking the flash from his limped hand she popped the top back on and nodded her head. "I'm glad...." Last thing she needed was to worry about him bleeding out, especially if he had still been paralyzed at the time too. Curling her tail around her hips she toyed with the flask in her paws, before looking to him as he checked himself out. "Do you want me to go fill this up while you're still awake?"

He reached over for his helmet and looked inside to see that it was already completely taken over on the inside by the crystallized stuff. He wondered what would happen if he put it on. "Yes...but only the brave will succeed" he added on, putting his hand inside the helmet to see the same reaction happen from when he first touched the stuff on the ground. "Interesting" he muttered to himself, more occupied with the reaction than his actually feeling of being tired.
She had pointed out something and he looked over. "Oh..the flask..Might as well." he replied as he picked his torso up and looked to the flowing brook near by. He was tempted to just go over and drink the water from there, and so, he did. Thankfully it wasn't too far that he had to drag himself to get to the water, and soon he began to drink from the cool spring

Brave huh? Nariko couldn't help that grin that spread over her lips, watching him stick his paw into the helmet to what she assumed was examine that blue stuff. It reminded her just how brave he was, not that he hadn't been a beacon of fearlessness since she'd met him. Actually, now that she thought of it he had been rather brave to try and kiss her in the first place with their track record; and the notion brought a cherry tint to her cheeks.
Yet once the male began to move towards the brook by himself she scrambled to stand now that her back was feeling better and headed after him. Heading a few steps downstream from him she stepped into the gentle waters of the brook and bent down to fill up the flash from the center of the running waters. Twisting the lid back on, she headed back to sit down on the shore beside Dutch and hand him the flask back with her paws in the water. "Here...thanks Dutch. Still got no feeling in your legs?" At least it did seem to be wearing off....but she wondered what was taking so long for his legs if the rest of his body slowly regained feeling?
