Yumiko heard a faint knock over her piano playing. She halted her playing and waited for a maid to answer it but the maids were occupied.Sighing, she stood up.She twisted the knob and opened the door. She wondered who was at the door this time. She walked down the hallway and down to the door.Yumiko stopped in front the door then opened the door.A young male stood in front of their door. She examined the young man before talking.Who could he be? she had thought.
"May I help you?" she asked the man, tilting her head.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith watched as the door opened to reveal a girl who, from first glance, looked roughly his age. Nodding slightly, he bowed to her. "Yes, my name is Xenarith Sakai. I was purchased from one of the slave warehouses and transported here, which means you must be my new mistress." He said as he stopped bowing. He had rehearsed that line almost exactly over and over again, a generic line he had used countless times before, although the word mistress was a recent addition which he had to try and remember. For a split second, he studied her quickly, noting the slight tilting of her head. Obviously she had no idea why he was there, so he rubbed the back of his head. "Is there anyone else who lives here that may have been the one to have bought me? They might be able to explain this a little better than I might." So far, Xenarith was a little confused as well. If she wasn't the one to make the transaction, then who? The guard at the warehouse had said he had a mistress, but now he was a little unsure if that was entirely the truth. ...You just have to look past the cold.

"It seems that my step-father might have bought you" she answered. She wondered why her step-father was giving her slaves, tho, she was not sure if fhe needed them.Pushing all thoughts away from her mind,Yumiko had widen the door for the man. "You may come in" she had added.I wonder if my step-father had bought him for the similar reason as Shadesu she had thought.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith nodded and entered the mansion. Looking up slightly, he took in the entire room surrounding him. "Impressive." He thought, turning back to Yumiko. "Is there anything you would like me to do for now?" He asked, bowing once more. He was no stranger to how things worked. Generally his masters set him to work straight away, others let him settle into the new environment first...others just started beating him so he knew his place. "I've been taught how to serve in most aspects, although cooking is probably my weakest trait currently." He explained, just so she knew not to ask him to cook, in all honesty he was terrible in the kitchen. ...You just have to look past the cold.

Yumiko closed the door behind the man.She observed as he bowed once more to her."You do not have to bow at me" she said. "You can make yourself a home, since your are going to stay with us." she explained. "There are more than 47 rooms in this house, pick whichever room you prefer." she added, pointing up at the wide stair case with red carpets attached. The lighting had made the gold handles seem orange. "If you are lost, come find me and I'll show you around." she said.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith blinked, of all the masers he had, she was the first to tell him not to bow. Resisting the habit of doing it once more, he simply nodded and gave a small smile. "Alright. If you need me to do anything, just call me. I'll answer to Xenarith, Xena, or any other names you decide to give me." He said as he made his way quietly upstairs. Xenarith thought the main hall was huge, but the hallways and corridors were astoundingly large as well. It took him a moment, to remember why he had come up here and looked for any doors that hinted that it was unoccupied. After a little while, he found one, the sixteenth door from the left of the staircase and opened it. Looking around, he was not suprised that the bedroom looked so elegant, judging from what he saw of the rest of the house. Slowly, he made his way over to the bed and sat down on the edge. "I wonder...will things be different?" He thought as he eventually fell back onto the bed. ...You just have to look past the cold.

Watching the man known as 'Xenarith walk up the stair she waited until he was out of her sight. She walked back to her music room, stopping at the door. She was about to walk in until her stomach had started to growl, loudly.Remembering she hadn't eaten since yesterday, she had walked back down the large hallway.Yumiko made her way to the kitchen where the maids lined up in front of her.She had questioned herself why they always do that but shoved the thought away as her stomach continued to growl.
"Could you cook for me?" she had asked politely.
The maids had nodded several times saying "Yes Lady Yumiko" like they were in harmony with each other.Nodding, she had quested for extra plates for her new slaves. The maids nodded once more before Yumiko turned her back and walked out. They had scattered around, preparing the food.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Staring up at the cieling, Xenarith decided he might put a little magic practice in while he waited. Sitting back up, he created a small orb of ice. As it grew to a reasonable size, he began to carefully shape and sculpt it, the various shavings and pieces that fell off disappeared before they hit the ground. Within ten minutes, he held his completed sculpture up into full view: A carefully detailed rose. Standing up and heading to the curtains, he pulled them back to let the rose catch the sunlight. Smiling as it sparkled in the light, he couldn't help but stand there and admire his work. "The best one so far." He said to himself, carefully studying it to check for any cracks or mistakes. ...You just have to look past the cold.

Hungry,Yumiko walked back to her room, pushing the door wide open. She sat down and waited until the maids called her for dinner. The maids continued to prepare the dinner and set the table. The noise of them banging the plates together were loud enough for her to hear.Jst at that moment a maid appeared at the door, telling her that dinner will soon be served.Yumiko nodded and obeyed her to leave. The maid nodded and disappeared from her sight.Yumiko sat up as another maid had knocked at Xenarith's room. The maid had took her time, looking for the room. "Uhm...Sorry to intrude but dinner will be served soon." the maid said, waiting on his reply.More maids had walked to Akento's and Shadesu's room, saying the same. When the maid knocked at Shadesu's room,he was fast asleep and tried to wake him.In the other hand, the other maid gentle knocked on a large door. "Come in" a deep voice had spoken. "Sir,dinner will be serveed soon." the maid said. "Alright,Thank you" he added, standing up and heading towards the kitchen.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith turned at the sound of the door knocking. When he saw the maid and heard her say that dinner was ready, he nodded. "Very well then. I don't know my way around the house just yet, could you show me where I'm supposed to go?" He asked, placing the rose on the dressing table nearby as he walked towards the maid. He assumed he would be dining with other slaves or servants, he wasn't too sure how many people there were now that he knew they had maids, but he also thought about how Yumiko had told him not to bow. Perhaps he was assuming too quickly, drawing from more unpleseant experiences in the past. Shrugging the thought off, he awaited for the maid to show him the way. ...You just have to look past the cold.

The maid had nodded to his question. "Certainly" she added while walking out the door."This way" she added, walking down the hallway. The maid silently walked to the hallway the down the large stair case. She had held the handler on the way down before turning around seeing if the Xenarith was still following behind.Yumiko stood up,stretching. She took a deep breath as she opened her glass door leading to her balcony to let fresh air in her room. The wind blew gently blew her curtains as she turned to walk towards the door. She made her way down the hallway.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith had been following reasonably closely behind the maid, trying to map out the way from his room to where he was going. Looking around momentarily, making sure she was the only one in hearing range, he spoke quietly. "If it is alright to ask, what is the mistress like personality-wise? If I'm going to be staying here, it is best that I know who I am serving under quickly." He asked, hoping that it wasn't too much to ask for even a slight description. (Well I gotta go, cya some other time then mrgreen ) ...You just have to look past the cold.

The maid looked puzzled to his question, tho she questioned the same thing when she had first arrived here. The maid had been serving the Steel family ever since her birth father re-married.She had halted and sighed. "I've been with Lady Yumiko ever since she was twelve" she noted. "She's always a quiet person, never sharing anything to anyone. She mostly kept to herself." she explained. "Well,I wouldn't see why she should be happy with her past" the maid added. "She has no family related by blood and she is the only one left.Ever since she was twelve, she never really spoke.Poor child, had her parents gone at a young age." she muttered. "Though I only have been serving her in a short time,It's best to not talk to her about anything that might bring up her past" she warned.Yumiko heard faint voice not far from her.She stopped and eavesdropped on their conversation. "Since then, she hadn't left the perimeter of this house.I don't know why but I can guess that she's afraid" the maid continued.

Xenarith § Sakai Even in the frigid wastelands, the scenery can be beautiful to gaze upon... Xenarith nodded at her response, then looked down and rubbed the back of his head when she told him about Yumiko's parents. "I see...well at least I know we have something in common then. I lost my parents at the age of four, placed into slavery at five and..." He looked up and, suprisingly, smiled. "...and, here I am." Xenarith took one last look around, it felt as if someone was watchingthem, but he couldn't be certain. He turned back to the maid and nodded. "Thank you for telling me ma'am. If she's the type to punish her slaves and maids for something like this, I take full responsibility." He said, looking forwards for a moment. "Perhaps we should continue now, it would be rude to keep the others waiting." He said, gesturing for her to continue. ...You just have to look past the cold.

"Oh Yes,of coarse,my pleasure" the maid said, nodding her head."Well, this way"she added, walking down the hallway.Soon the maid had lead Xenarith in front of a large brown door. "Here we are...." she had confirmed, showing him the door.Yumiko continued to look into space. After standing at the same spot for two minutes of silence, her stomach had interrupted her.Sighing, she silently walked down the large feet of stairs.Yumiko could smell the food from where she stood. She enjoyed the smell momentarily before continuing her way to the kitchen.
