Well, I was paranoid even before that happened though. Sometimes I fear that there are microphones in my pillows. It makes it hard to sleep.

Smart Alex Potato_Chan Another delusions that I often have is that I am dissintegrating. A lot of people have that. I often have hallucinations that my flesh is dripping away from the bone. eek That sounds really disturbing. gonk I'm very thankful the only hallucination (or at least I assume that's what it was) I have ever had was hearing children laughing. My friend once told me that he had a dream where these people made him shoot himself in the head and he could feel the blood draining out of his head. gonk The science teacher I had last year told me that the most common hallucination is spiders crawling down your face. (sorry to any arachnaphobics!)

I had a mild case of paranoia when I was about 11. There were these mystery games where you figured out murders, and that triggered a few months' worth of being too scared to sleep. It faded away, though, about a month after I stopped playing those games, and it came back again for 2 nights when I started studying forensics. Actually, studying forensics all in itself was practically a cure for paranoia; a little scary, at first, but I got used to working with 'blood' and 'crime scenes'. (this was a course specially designed for kids. Now it's become a very possible future profession.) Could this be part of a mild case of a mental 'disease', or is it 'normal'?
Paranoia is a fascinating subject. Those of you who are in my position oughta watch Satoshi Kon's fantastic anime Paranoia Agent.

M is for M+Ms The science teacher I had last year told me that the most common hallucination is spiders crawling down your face. (sorry to any arachnaphobics!) I've had a similar hallucintation. I thought that I was covered by bees and scarab beetles. I had just seen the Mummy, btw. sweatdrop Actually, I have to be very careful about what I watch. For the most part, I have certain people screen things for me, because anything about conspiracy theories will set me off.

It's really badly made, and I saw about 15 mins (maybe less) of it and it had three things in it that I was scared of in that 15 mins. Screen things?

My voices tend to tell me that everyone around me that are talking that I really don't know are conspiring against me.
I should probably bring some of this up in therapy, right?

Well, if I want to watch a particular movie or read a particular book, I usually have someone who knows me very well watch/read it first to make sure that it won't cause any unneccissary delusions or paranoia. I do this because I love to read and such but sometimes I'm simply unable to tell the difference between fact and fiction.

If you are hearing "voices" that are not your own and that only you hear, it's may be some kind of audatory hallucination and you should seek professional help immediately.

I also love reading and good films/TV stuff if I can can stay still long enough to watch them (lol). I find the term 'unneccisarry delusions or paranoia' funny because paranoia doesn't do any good so all paranoia is unecessary! Though there isn't really a better way of explaining it. My mum has dificulty telling the difference between fact and ficiton when she reads things, but not in a paranoia sort of way. More in a believing that really, really big co-incidences actually happened. rolleyes She's read two fiction books that she thought were true stories until the end.

IM paranoid by nature, and this only intensifies when I'm high. I don't think it's all that debilitating though.

It's always good to have people to bounce ideas off of to when things get weird. I was mad though last time I was in the hospital and nobody would let me read tabloid magazines like the Weekly World News!
