In a very heavy accent, due to human english not being her first language she spoke "Thank you for your help in this terrible time." She did not understand the bowing, but returned it, thinking it customary on Earth. "Are there other earthlings in there?" Pointing to the spaceship.

((Since Fushigi na Butterfly seems to be absent, I will NPC her characters down the ramp., along with all the other humans.)) Asmaria looked at the people around her. Everyone seemed to be accounted for. They had all come down the ramp and were now standing on the grassy field behind Asmaria. "Nope, that seems to be everyone..." Asmaria started. "Aren't you forgetting someone?" Captain Rickan asked, putting his hand once again on Asmaria's shoulder. Asmaria quickly brushed it off, gritting her teeth. "This is our supposed Captain, Rickan, though I'm the obvious leader, the Earth military was too traditional to ever allow a woman the rank of Captain, so this idiot was appointed to appease them." Asmaria said. "Hey, now that's not nice. Is that any way to speak about your Captain?" Rickan asked. "It's true. He doesn't like to admit it, because he's too powr-hungry." Asmaria said. Rickan was silent.

Coren was absolutely shocked to hear of this tradition. "Do you mean to say that your culture values men over women? But why? Women give life and Men provide food and protection, but without the women the men would not exist and without men the women would not exist, it is a fine balance." That seemed so barbaric to her and the Orinian's behind her, Men and Women were always considered equal- no matter the circumstance.

(I was just wondering if you are NPCing my character as well. If you aren't than this is my post.)
Slowly exiting the craft, Sgt. Paulton takes in the non-recycled oxygen into his lungs. He supposed the general effect would be more pleasant if while doing this he lighted a cigar from his box, so being a creature of habbit he did, much to the distaste of the others around him.
"Heh, don't be so shocked at the arrogance of humanity," he says with a half-assed bow. "We tend to exceed in the catagory quite well." He knew this probably wasn't the most impressive enterance but it suited him just fine. Finally stopping the theatrics, he steps into the stiff salluting position and recognises his superiors. "Captain, I am proud to serve under your command as always."

Asmaria smiled as she heard Coren's words. "I think I'm gonna like it on this planet." she said, looking around her. "Yeah, well, I'm not." Captain Rickan said, looking around at, what seemed to him, the dirty looks that some of the Orinians were giving him. "What? It's not like I wanted them to choose me as Captain over her." he said. He then noticed Sergeant Paulton saluting him. Rickan saluted back. "And I am glad to have such a Sergeant as you under my command." he said.

"Sir, if I may, we do not need to quarrel within ranks. With so few, we need to set up a parimeter and ready ourselves for the impending invasion, sir," he says slightly stoic, but seeming more visibly annoyed by Asmaria's disrespect to a superior. As the captain relieves the salute he begins to walk back toward the ship. Entering the ship as Morgan leaves, he smiles to himself remembering who his "highly qualified" fellow soldiers were. It didn't matter to him if he dies on this planet or not. In his mind he is living on borrowed time, this is just another "hoorah" before the end.
Finally reentering the massive Excalibur, Lex approaches his suit, The Tumbleweed. I grin stretches across his face as if greeting an old friend from a long absence. He grabs his rag and begins the laborous job of cleaning the mech, along with preparing it for battle. He steadily runs the warn cloth, doused with lubricators, across the inner barrel of the heavy machine guns. We works with such care that an onlooker would believe him to be cleaning his newborn child.

"Right. Begin to set up a peremiter around the area." Rickan said. The soldiers saluted, then went into The Excalibur and came out through the hanger's bay in their MechSuits, in a circle around the ship. "Sir, if you don't mind me saying so, I believe an aerial peremiter would be more effective, since that is the direction the attack will be coming from." Asmaria said in an obvious tone of defiance, pointing upwards. She didn't know what Lex's problem was, she had every right to defy this man that had only gotten a position that should have rightfully been hers because he was of the male gender and she wasn't. Plus, who had been the one who had helped Dr. Kenson develop the MechSuits? It hadn't been Rickan, that was for damn sure. Rickan couldn't develop a Commodore 64, let alone an 8-story-tall MechSuit with interchangable weapons. All this ran through Asmaria's head as she watched Rickan order the MechSuits into the air.

"Asmaria Culie..." ((I just kinda invented it, it's a way to denote respect like Miss or Mr, Culie "Coo-lay" for woman Culier "Cool-lare" for a man, put behind the name)) She handed the female a golden box, inside was a key. She saluted the earthling by bowing slightly and forming her hands into a triangle, a symbol for the balance between flora, fauna, and the Orinians...ultimately- peace. "Inside the box, is a key for the home you and your followers will stay in, it has 8 bedrooms I do hope it is enough. It is supplied with clothing, food, and anything else you might need. Also, anything you need us to do- just say it and I will translate."

((Very nice, I like it.))
Asmaria accepted the golden box and tucked into a pocket of her dress, then bowed in the same manner, her hands forming the same triangle. "I and my... followers... thank you and your people for all your hospitality. You have shown us so much kindness, and we hope to return the kindness you so willingly give to us with our own kindness. And any human who does not return your kindness will have to answer to me." Asmaria said.

"Oh but Amaria- Culie, it is you who is kind to us, you are willing to help us in our desperate need, we shall do anything in return for saving our planet, and a few Orinians do not wish to mix with humans, but any unkindness you witness shall be dealt with by me." She stood aside motioning to her people, who separated as the red sea parting, afraid of the humans. "Your home is on the other side of the 'Pou-ju' or Capital, Kiru and Arion will help with anything you may need to be moved." Two young male Orinians moved from the sides and bowed in the Orinian fashion to the humans in front of them. "They do not know basic, but just motion to them, and they will help." ((go ahead and take control of them, not very important))

The ominuous sounds of an enormous mech resonate as Tumbleweed beings its exit of The Excaliber. The towering collosus of metal looms over the crowd of Orinians for a second. Lex breathes in deeply in hopes of finding a hint of fear or intimidation. They disappoint him with their unshaking clarity of thought. He is definately far from home...
"Thank you ma'am for you unquestioning hospitality," he says while manipulation his mech into a shallow bow.

"Wha-wha-what is that!?" She gasped pointing to the giant robot-like mech.... "So I guess the universe is right- humans do think size matters..." She shook her head slightly placing her forehead in her hand.... "I do not know if I can permit you to use those without a need... He will scare all of Orin!"

"Get out of that thing this instant!" Asmaria yelled to Lex. "You know that MechSuit use is strictly prohibited to times of battle and security detail! We already have an aeriel perimeter set up, we don't need the Tumbleweed right now. Do you see me strutting around in Raye?" she asked, putting one hand to her forehead as it hung low. "Oi... What did I do to deserve this?" she said under her breath. "Get out of that thing, and follow us, Sergeant." Asmaria said as she followed Kiru and Arion, who were carrying much of the colonists' luggage that they could not carry themselves. The two Orinians led the way to the living quarters.

She followed them pointing out landmarks and discussing matters along the way.
"That is the church that our people attend at the end of the Orinian week. Our week is 9 days long. A day is 20 hours long. We have 14 months, our months have 36 days in them, which is how long it takes our moon to go through it's phases. So therefore there are 4 weeks in a month, and 504 days in a year. Does that all make sense to you?"

Asmaria looked back as she heard Coren explaining about the time cycles of Orin. "Makes sense to me." she said. She looked around them as they headed through the city, admiring in particular the gothic-like motif of the church. The statues of beings that seemed to guard the church reminded her so much of the gargoyles that guarded old churches.
