Fionna quickly followed Lucas out of the room not saying a word to his family. They had lost the little respect Fionna had been wilong to give. This was just plain psychotic and she had half a mind to turn back around and speak her mind.

Fionnas face was troubled when they returned to his room. How many years had he endured this treatment? Had it happened gradually or did his family sudden come up with these ideas they thought to be proper.

Fionns sat on the bed and took Lucas hand not sure what to even say. "Interestimg dinner to say the least. What shal we do now then." Fionna thought they had a few hours to their selves before they would need to get some sleep.

((Posting for Devon, he told me what to write since his computer sucks.))

"Nothing yet." Lucas said with a sigh. "Gotta wait for a minute." He mumbled. Then, all too soon, he heard her footsteps on the stairs and he flinched each step she took. Each bang of her shoe on the wooden stairs.
See, once they saw him all damaged and injured all those years ago,his family wanted to be sure that wasn't going to happen to them.He looked over at Fionna and gave her a look that plainly said, “I hate this part.”

He was flushing a bit again, and hung his head when his mother walked in.
“For God's sake, Lucas, stop being so dramatic.” His mother sighed.
”Come on mum, it's Christmas.” Lucas said.
No use. It was like she didn't hear him. She grabbed his chin and yanked his face upwards. He bit his lip in the pain of his headache and her sharp nails digging into his skin.
“You can take it off in the afternoon, when the sun's high in the sky.” She said, again, as if this were all routine. It was. Then, from the purse she had dangling in her arm, she took out a muzzle

The hated muzzle. He couldn't talk, or even breathe through his mouth with the thick leather strap around his upper lip, pressing his teeth together. They had altered it a bit with magic so it would fit a human face and ironically be more inhumane than ever. Then the metal bars in front of it that were in front of his mouth were extremely irritating. Not to mention that he couldn't lick his hands or any of his wounds which he tended to do out of habit. It of course made it so he couldn't eat, either. So he wasn't going to get food until tomorrow. At Hogwarts he could eat whenever he wanted...how he'd rejoice when he set his eyes on that huge castle. His stomach growled and just before she set the strap down and tightened it, he said,
“Can I at least get something to eat first? Still hungry.” He pleaded, looking up into her eyes.
“Tomorrow. You can wait that long.” She said. He would've begged again, but not only did he hate begging in front of Fionna, but she tightened the strap so the rest of his words were cut off.
“And don't try undoing it you two.” His mother said, looking at Lucas and Fionna. “I sealed it with magic. There's no way I'm letting you put our safety in danger.” She left. Lucas clenched his fists and stared at the floor with narrowed eyes.

Lucas couldn't speak out. He never did. Just to make things worse, his sister walked in with her desert moments later. He couldn't speak well, but he could breathe through his nose perfectly clear and he smelt delicious food. He didn't get that much food begging at Christmas dinner, and he knew just fine that she was doing this on purpose. His hands balled themselves into fists again, but he did nothing with Fionna sitting right there. But that didn't stop his sister. She continued to eat, smirking at Lucas.
“What, can you smell the food, Lukie? Here, let me stop that for you.” She conjured up something, he felt a pressure on his nose and, oh god he couldn't breathe. She'd conjured a small, tight nose plug, like what a swimmer would wear, on his nose and he couldn't breathe, he couldn't...his mouth was in a muzzle, his nose was plugged and there was no air at all...he tried yanking at the nose clip but it was just too tight, it had been twenty seconds, his face was turning a deeper red...he grabbed his wand and tried tapping it against the muzzle, the nose plug, but he didn't know the charms, he couldn't do magic outside school...his sister was laughing and walking away...he tried to run after her, but he stumbled and fell on his knees. Pain seared in his leg, he tried to cry out and he still couldn't get the tiny nose plug off ...his face was blue...it was a minute...stars were popping in his eyes and he collapsed on the floor, his nails digging into his chest, his lungs, which were shriveling up and life was flickering in his mind's eye...

I MIGHT LOSE MY MIND FOR A WHILE
BUT I'LL BE FINE HAVE YOU HEARD THERE'S THIS THING
THAT HEALS AND IT'S CALLED TIME
▂▃▃▄▄▄▅▅▅▅▄▄▄▃▃▂

Fionna was confused by what Lucas said and then she heard somebody ascending the staircase. Fionna supposed Lucas had been waiting for something and that something was coming. The look Lucas gave Fionna was not one Fionna wanted to see on his face. What was going on now?

Lucas' mother entered the room and was suddenly grabbing Lucas quite violently. Take what off? What was she talking about. The way she was grabbing Lucas made Fionna want to screech at the woman but she was silenced by the appearance of what seemed to be a muzzle altered to ft a human.

Fionna stared in disbelief at the thing in the woman's hands and she was frozen until it the process of putting it on Lucas began. Fionna then stood up about to attack the woman. What the bloody hell was going on here. This was child abuse sure Lucas was a werewolf but he wasn't about to transform and start tearing apart anybody nearby. The full moon was still days away. Fionna stepped forward raising her hand for a gesture to go along with what she was about to say when Lucas' mother left.

Fionna slumped back onto the bed and stared at Lucas with wide eyes full of disbelief. Another interruption caused the words forming on Fionna's lips to cease and a glare appeared in her eyes as she looked upon Lucas' sister. She grit her teeth until spell was cast upon Lucas that plugged his nostrils. Fionna could clearly see he was suffocating. The muzzle didn't allow him to breathe.

Fionna flung herself down next to where Lucas was pulling at the muzzle constricting his breathing and she too began pulling. Though Fionna didn't bother with the muzzle she knew from what his mother said that they would not be getting that off. Gripping the nose plug Fionna pulled while yelling, "This is barbaric! You bloody idiots!" Fionna got the nose plug off just as she was starting to fear she would be unable to.

Tears sprang to her eyes realizing Lucas could have died if she had not been there to pull it off. His family sure wasn't going to come to his rescue to remove either items. How had Lucas survived all those years in this house before he began attending Hogwarts?

...and then he could breath. Sweet air filled his nostrils and his chest heaved. Fionna had managed to get the tiny, tight plug off his nose. Stuff like this had happened before, but never so harsh. So, she put a nose plug on to prevent him from smelling the sweet food? Well played, sister. She'd managed to make herself seem merciful so he didn't have to smell the food, but horrible at the same time by nearly snuffing out his life. He rolled onto his side and tried to cough, but couldn't. He looked up at Fionna, his face was slowly returning back to it's normal pale, rather than purple. He tried desperately to open his mouth, to thank her, but couldn't. He held her hand with his and rolled back over onto his back and took as deep breaths as he could with just his nose open.

He regained his composure after a little while, he just felt light-headed. He looked around his room and found a piece of paper and a quill. He found a nearly empty ink bottle and used it.
'Thank you...so much, I love you so much.' He wrote. 'Such a sweet sister. I would've died if you weren't here...so thanks for being here, thank you. I don't know how to thank you enough.' He couldn't think of anything else to write, so he just handed it to her and lay back down on his bed. His eyes were smiling at her, because his mouth couldn't. He would've kissed her, hugged her, but the muzzle prevented it. The muzzle prevented a lot of things. Like breathing and eating and just being the human daily that he wanted to be. But one thing was certain: He preferred owing her his life much more than owing it to Rhiannon.

▂▃▃▄▄▄▅▅▅▅▄▄▄▃▃▂

Fionna held onto Lucas' hands knowing he couldn't speak with that death trap on his face. This had to be illegal or something. There was no way this treatment was allowed and Fionna had half a mind to write a letter to her brother at the ministry about this.

Lucas got up after a while and started searching his room for something. When he came back Fionna saw he had a piece of parchment, ink, and a quill with him. He wrote for a minute before handing it to her and Fionna read what it said. She could see in his eyes the gratefulness Lucas had for her saving him. Fionna laid down next to Lucas and wrapped her arms around him. "I love you Lucas." She kissed his forehead since his mouth was unavailable.

Fionna thought for a moment before saying to Lucas, "I've decided I don't like your family by the way." There was a hint of a smile on her face, but it was mostly serious. They way they treated Lucas just was plan wrong and the only reason they did it was because he was a werewolf. He was still their son and should be treated as such. Honestly, she was afraid. If Lucas was alone with his family would he die by their hand? If she wasn't there to save him would they go to far and it just happen.

Lucas would've smiled weakly at her comment, said I don't like them either, but he couldn't do a thing. He gripped her hand and gave it a small squeeze, and sat with her for a while. Her, obviously, doing most of the talking. He wrote out some answers to anything she asked, whatever they talked about. But when it turned 11pm, his mother was coming up the stairs again.
"Hello, Fionna. I think it's best you go to sleep so you'll both be well rested."
She smiled and led Fionna to the guest room, Lucas waving goodbye behind her.

When Fionna was all led to her bed, Lucas's mother went straight to Lucas's room and locked the door.
Inside, Lucas flumped on the bed and fell asleep quickly, tired from the muzzle keeping him from breathing completely, and feeling, understandably, light-headed.
Thank goodness Fionna was here. Deep down, he wished she'd never leave, and wondered how he managed this place before.

The pair talked a while longer until they were interrupted by Lucas' mother telling her to get some sleep. Fionna wished she could stay with Lucas all night but knew that would be impossible so instead she said good night to Lucas and followed his mother to the guest room.

In the guestroom, Fionna changed into some comfy clothes and got into bed. She did not instantly fall asleep though. Instead, her thoughts kept her up for a few hours before sleep finally reeled her in.

Morning came and Fionna slowly awoke. A big yawn escaped her and rubbing her eyes open she wondered if she should go sit in the kitchen or something. It sounded like a good plan so Fionna changed her clothes and fixed her hair before wandering out of the guestroom where she then made her way towards the kitchen.

Lucas woke up and would've yawned, if possible. The only thing he hated about today was that later tonight he wouldn't remember it. Yep. Fullmoon. Still, he got to enjoy Fionna's company for a few hours longer before then, so he'd enjoy it. He changed, with difficulty because of the muzzle, and went downstairs into the kitchen to watch others eat breakfast and sit there like a good dog.

He waved to Fionna, eyes smiling, when he got to sit down today. His mom had made pancakes, and she passed them around to everyone but him. His stomach churned, but didn't growl. It, like Lucas, was accustomed to this. Lucas waited for breakfast to finish up, slightly impatient to show Fionna the great outdoors. He wanted to go stare at the clouds with her, get the muzzle off around noon, and shout and laugh, before tonight that dream was crushed.

Fionna entered the kitchen to find Lucas mother cooking breakfast. Soon after she had approached the table Lucas came in with smiling eyes and a wave. Fionna was glad to see him but hated still seeing the muzzle on him. How long did he have to wear that. He barely got any food for dinner and now he got no breakfast.

Fionna ate quite quietly and still didnt eat very much. Her appetite seemed to disappear quite a bit at the carter house. Fionna finoshed what she wanted and tu,rned to Lucas for an indication of what they would be doing.

Lucas walked outside with Fionna after dinner and just sat around with her in the lovely fresh air. It was cold outside, and it looked like rain later, but as of now, it was pleasant. Around noon, his mother walked outside and took the muzzle off with a quick spell. When she walked back inside, Lucas celebrated having the use of his mouth again by putting his arm around Fionna and kissing her on the cheek.

"We're eating dinner early, since after dinner's full moon and all, but for now we can do whatever, and we have a few hours. Whatcha wanna do?" He asked, smiling at her. He felt so much better, not quite so tired, not so light-headed. It wasn't that he couldn't breath through his nose, he was really really good at it, but just cutting off air supply for that moment for so long, and then having only your nose to breath through afterwards had given him such a headache.
There was a little movie theater down the street and a tiny shop as well as a bakery. It wasn't any big deal, but the cozy shops were nice this time of year and reminded him of Hogsmeade a bit, except that they obviously weren't magical, so not as fun.

Fionna followed Lucas outside glad to breathe in the fresh outdoors air. Fionna loved the outdoors and the wilderness. She often enjoyed wandering the woods that surrounded their property at home. Spending hours at a time with no particular aim and she could always find her way back home she knew the woods very well having wandered them since she was a small child.

After a few hours, Lucas' mother came out and removed the accursed muzzle which made Fionna's spirits rise greatly. She had to avoid looking at his mother much because if she did a glare or even some nasty words might emanate from her. Fionna grinned at Lucas though and kissed him right back.

Of course the full moon was tonight. Fionna would be unable to accompany Lucas though because his family probably would never allow it. Instead, she would have to be stuck with Lucas' horrible family for hours. Perhaps she could sneak off to bed early pretending she was exhausted to avoid too much confrontation. What to do until dinner though was the question. Fionna didn't know what there was to offer here. "Well I'm not sure what there is. Can I leave it up to you to decide?" She asked with a smile on her face.

"Hmmm." Lucas thought for a moment, smile still on his face as he held Fionna's hand. A movie might take too long, and there weren't really nice clothing or fashion stores Fionna might like.
"I think you'll like the bakery." He said with a grin. They were really nice people who ran it. Very kind.
"I dunno if you recall a certain injured Herbology Professor?" Lucas said, smiling slightly.
"I'm almost certain, from what I've heard, that he actually passed through here this summer. The people at the bakery are real kind, and I went there before Hogwarts and they were talking about someone who came in there all bloodied up 'n' such. Said he was trying to get to London. Real nice people."((The Cook family, pg 14))
Lucas walked down with her to town, opened the door from her and waved at the owner of the store who greeted him happily. She was a plump little woman, but you couldn't ask for anyone sweeter. Husband and daughter must be out, since it was around holidays.

Lucas had some muggle money and nudged Fionna gently. "Get whatever, my treat." He said. He was hoping that she could have it when he left, when he was in the woods, thinking of her. Maybe it would make her time with his horrible mother a bit more bearable.

Fionna waited while Lucas quickly decided where to go. When he decided on the bakery it sounded good to her. She had never really been into many muggle shops and this would probably be different than the very few she had been to. It was always intriguing meeting muggles. They could be quite entertaining and even nice.

Fionna took Lucas' hand as they walked to town. It was interesting to find out that their professor had passed through here. "Wow that's interesting." Finding out that your professor had passed so close by in an attempt to reach London was interesting to say the least.

Fionna walked into the store with Lucas to be greeted by what looked to be a very kind lady. True to the appearance, the owner was very sweet and nice to them. Lucas indicated for Fionna to get whatever she liked. Honestly, she had no idea there were so many different items here. Eventually she picked out a fairly good sized cookie shaped as a large man in a red suit. Fionna honestly, had no idea what it was and figured it was some muggle thing. Fionna found it funny though so she decided on it. "This looks delicious." She said smiling at Lucas.

"Santa Claus." Lucas said smiling. He knew a bit about muggle things since his parents had made him take Muggle studies. "Muggle thing." he whispered to Fionna as he paid Mrs. Cook in Muggle money.
He went back with Fionna, chatting all the way. They had dinner and, as usual, Lucas begged, but he wasn't as badly flushed. He was silent, nudged Fionna, and winked at her every so often. His parents didn't give him much to eat, and then it was time for the car ride to the woods.

The drive was the most awkward moment in his life so far. He gave Fionna a long kiss goodbye in the backseat when his mom wasn't looking. He hoped she'd assume he got Wolfsbane early this morning or something, he didn't want her to picture him being savage. She'd already know that he was when she saw how scratched up he was...she'd know.
But he still gave her a long kiss it would be tomorrow night, or late afternoon when he saw her again. What he'd give if he could just enjoy it with her and not need to suffer. He hated the idea of not having the Wolfsbane now, not being in control at all. As he got out of the car he tapped his mom on the shoulder.
“Could I have a bit more food?” He asked quietly. He knew he'd be starving all day tomorrow, but sometimes his parents gave him a small bag of bread. At least something. But now that he had a girlfriend and was inflicting others with his company, they weren't so loving.
“Go kill a squirrel or something.” his mother hissed, just loud enough for Fionna to hear. She was, no doubt, angry about the kiss she just witnessed.
“Right.” He mumbled, and closed the door. He waved goodbye and walked off into the woods feeling gloomy and alone.
At the transformation a few hours later, though, all he felt was pain. Excruciating, unbearable, pain. It seemed worse than ever before, he'd gotten so used to being in his own mind that he was losing control now more than ever. When his head started lengthening, nose growing out, he clutched at his face with his paws and screamed a yell that could be heard all across the woods. He fell on his knees and rolled in the dirt yelling, screaming bloody murder before at last, a horrifying moment later, he was a wolf.

Back at the house, Lucas's mother was reading in the living room, his father watching t.v., his sister doing ministry work, and Fionna given any hospitality she needed. She could go play the instruments upstairs that Lucas owned, could destroy his room if she wanted. They really didn't care. About their son, at least.

Fionna inspected the Santa Claus as Lucas called it. Fionna knew quite a bit about muggles but she had never heard about Santa Claus before. She would probably look it up when she got back to Hogwarts. What was the point of this little figure? It intrigued her.

Dinner wasn't as bad as the first night. Sure, Lucas still had to beg and it was still psychotic of his family but Lucas seemed less embarrassed and even nudged her a bit. Fionna again slipped Lucas some food not wanting him to be ravenous even before going to the woods.

The car ride was quite awkward but Fionna imagines it would be more so on the way back when Lucas was gone. She enjoyed his long kiss and didn't want it to end. Fionna had assumed all along that Lucas had been taking wolfsbane when she wasn't around. She found it a bit odd that he wasn't taking it right before leaving though. He always had at Hogwarts, but maybe it didn't matter.

Fionna glared at Lucas' mother when she told him to kill a squirrel. What was her problem? That was still his son. He was not a monster that rampaged every full moon he controlled himself and was just as human as she was every other day of the month. Fionna waved as Lucas ventured away and resisted the urge to transform and run after him. The pain in her eyes was evident having to leave him alone on yet another full moon especially what happened last month.

Fionna returned in the car with Lucas' family feeling very awkward and uncomfortable around them. Fionna avoided contact with them really sticking to herself with one of her many books. In the morning Fionna got ready and expected to go straight to get him once up. She had to wait a while resisting the urge to scream at them and go running off to find Lucas on her own.
