Lucas- Gryffindor

Yes, this is a house, but Lucas Carter considers it a Prison, no matter how big. Lucas's parents are very clean and neat and precise. They live in a town where everything looks the same. Not far from Hogwarts and London, it's somewhere between the two. Lucas liked it at first, he had friends there, but his parents distanced Lucas from them ever since the incident. They still haven't gotten over it, even though Lucas has.

House ((Don't let the palm trees fool you. His parents just want to look nice, they care about appearing normal and very tropical and fresh, when they're hiding a monster in their house.))

Lucas- Gryffindor

Lucas had come down from his bedroom feeling really tired, the full moon was coming this Friday and it was getting late at night. He went into the car and waited for his parents who came running out of the house a few minutes later. It was now Wedensday, which meant that Lucas had to go live in the woods until about Sunday (Edit: Tuesday). His parents always wanted to be sure they were well away from Lucas with plenty of time before the fullmoon, and since they weren't fantastic at potions, it was easier than making or buying the Wolfsbane potion.

His mother, a panicky woman who was tall with long dirty-blonde hair and blue-ish eyes was the opposite from his father. His father was strict, uptight and now fun at all since Lucas was bitten. His father had always disliked the idea of werewolves, and now he had one for a son. Lucas tried to tell his parents he was the same as them normally, it was only on the full moon he was different. He should be treated the same as he was before the bite then, no less love. His mother simply gave him a pitiful smile when he said this and said, "Of course we're the same darling, I just have never had a tail."

They both dropped him off in the woods they usually did, which were deserted. Lucas sat there grumbling, his long blond hair at the top of his eyes, making his face look like it were in shadow.

Lucas then saw something quite unexpected...an owl with a letter. The owl was just drifting across the tops of the trees as if it had no idea who to give the letter to. ((Jessica's owl from Brammley cottage)). The owl then swooped down and gave it to Lucas. Bewildered, Lucas opened it and saw it was an invitation to a housewarming party. Heart hammering against his ribs, he stared at it. He'd never been invited to a party since before he got his bite...It was so exciting but daunting. Not having any ink or parchment, Lucas gave the letter back to the owl who took off again, probably looking for someone else to give it to. Curiosity getting the better of him, Lucas crept around the woods.

It took him a few hours, but he finally found it. He'd known these woods by heart, and there it was. A brand-new cottage. It was adorable and welcoming. Lucas stared at it with longing...he could visit, maybe meet someone...tommorow night he would need to leave of course, since it would be a night before the moon was full and that was just going to be hellish. But...for now...what if he just said hi?

Lucas ran deeper into the woods, not looking back at the girl. He felt bad for leaving, really he did...but if he had attacked her he wasn't sure he'd be able to forgive himself. He ran for about an hour, pausing to lean on a tree and catch his breath, until he lay down on the forest floor, staring up at the bright sun. He closed his eyes and put his arms behind his head, just relaxing. He kept making vain attempts to forget the girl...but she'd been so kind. That's only because she doesn't know what you are... He told himself over and over again.

Lucas lay there for a while, bored beyond belief. At least in two more hours I won't be bored... He thought bitterly, kicking a rock with his foot. He hoped the new girl in the cabin at least had the sense to stay in her cabin late at night with a full moon out...he shuddered to think what would happen if he found her. He was fairly far away though... Maybe I should tie myself to a tree like mum wants. She thinks I'm a monster...well maybe she's right... But he knew that ropes wouldn't hold him back when he transformed, he knew that nothing could stop it. But he also knew that he'd never want to give up trying to find a way to make his summers less painful.

Lucas- Werewolf

When it seemed like it had been hours, Lucas looked up and saw it. He stood up and watched it creeping from behind the gray, wispy clouds. The full moon had now completely risen. He felt his body go stiff and still. He began to shake and snarl, his whole body was trembling and the last thing he remembered before he lost his sense of self was the horrible pain. The horrible pain that coursed through his entire body and overcame him whether he wanted it to or not. Then his whole body lengthened and his hands curled up. His eyes were not his anymore, he had a tufted tail and hair covering his entire body. He howled, a howl loud enough to scare off anything that had dared to stay within a few hundred feet of him. He wasn't Lucas anymore, he wasn't even human.

All he wanted was flesh, blood to gush through his teeth, he wanted to bite into someone's skin...but this forest was deserted. His parents had taken him to the forest that had the least amount of wildlife, and no people around. He didn't know this of course, Lucas did. As it got later, the werewolf had nothing to bite and was enraged. Howling and snarling, he gnawed on his own limbs. He didn't fatally wound himself, no, but he left deep cuts on his skin and dripped blood as he ran. He bit into his leg, ripping at it, as the full moon still dangled in the air above him like a hypnotist's watch, cursing him into this state.

Lucas- Werewolf

Lucas had no sense of self anymore. He wanted to kill anything, everything, in his path. But it was hard to run now that he'd bitten himself multiple times, his fur matted and stuck together in spots from the red liquid. His eyes were darting around constantly, taking in the whole forest like he hadn't been here dozens of times before. A rabbit ran past and the wolf was distracted instantly. He ran for the rabbit, but it was too fast for his wounded legs. He pressed on hungrily and caught up with it. He bit the rabbit's throat and gnawed on it, stripping it to the bone until he had removed all the meat. Rabbit blood covering his mouth now, the wolf moved onward, desperate for another taste.

After some time, the moon in the sky was directly above him; his time as a wolf was halfway through. The wolf whimpered in pain and paced around it's dead prey, the rabbit. The wolf licked it's lips getting all the blood off, and when it lose interest, it moved on.
Biting at his own skin and howling, Lucas was quite a pitiful thing. Pathetic.

Lucas- Gryffindor

Lucas woke up, head pounding and ears ringing. He was covered in bite marks, cuts and scratches. His parents would put dittany on them and heal them, just like they always did. He gave a small, pathetic moan as he sat up, rubbing his wounds. They weren't shallow bite marks, but they weren't too deep, either. With a heavy sigh he lay back down in the grass, holding his head. He felt like he'd run miles, which as a wolf, he probably did. Curious as to where he was, he heaved himself back so he was sitting up and stood on shaky feet. He was not too far from that girl's house, actually. He must've been less than a mile away from it. He had positioned himself far enough away though that he couldn't have made it to her house not matter how fast he ran underneath the full moon.

He sat back down and put his head on his knees and rubbed the dark circles under his eyes. Tuesday he'd be going back home...what would his parents say if they heard there was a human living here? They'd obviously not let him come here under the full moon, but where else would he go? There was no other calm or deserted woods around here...this was like his second home. He'd become attached to it and remembered clearly the days when he sat here alone as a child waiting for the moon to come out. Breathing heavily, he lay his head down among the long grass.

Jessica had been sitting on her couch finishing the last of the one glass of wine she’d poured herself when her doorbell rang. A visitor! Hopefully it was the boy again! She got up excitedly and ran to the door. Upon opening it she found a short woman, probably in her 50’s, standing with a smirk on her doorstep. One might say she looked a bit like Professor Umbridge if you had been old enough to know her, but this woman held a kind smirk upon her lips and was somehow shorter. Almost like a goblin but not quite. Perhaps she was just unfortunate enough to be given the short end of the stick when it came to genetics.

“Can I help you?” Jessica spoke, smiling back. She’s here for the party!
“I’ve come to as you to leave.”

Okay.. so no party then..

“Excuse me?” She asked, confused. “I bought this house and this land…” The woman laughed. “Ahhh I’m just fooling around toots, I got your owl. Fine young thing he is. I actually came here for the party but it seems that all your guests have left already. After all I did here quite a howl going on in the woods, if you know what I mean.” The woman winked. How old was this witch? So perverted for her age..

“A howl? But no one came tonight save for a boy…” The girl was more than confused now.

“Oh, I are you sure? Don’t be playing with me child I heard howling. Were you eating those- oh what do you call them… anyhow I heard howling and screaming. Don’t tell me you weren’t partying!” The woman became angry and puffed out her chest in the same way a frog would puff out it’s throat.
“I apologize, madam, but I really don’t know what you’re talking about. No one has come. You can check if you like..” But the woman shook her head and disapparated without the mutter of her name. Kind lady.

Jessica was about to go back inside but what the woman had said kept repeating in her mind. Screaming, howling… possibly wolves or werewolves. And that boy just ran off… what if he had been attacked?! Worry set in and though scared out of her mind she grabbed her wand and broom and flew off into the forest.

Not an hour after searching she saw a small tuft of blonde hair on the forest floor and quickly dropped from her broom, as she was only a few feet off the ground in the first place. “Hey- you-!” A worried looked accompanied by sweat from searching for so long covered her face and she put a hand on his shoulder. “What happened to you!? Bloody hell..” Her eyes scanned his body and she cringed. “You must have been attacked, I’m so sorry- Accio Broom!” Her broom came flying back to her and she hopped back onto it before pointing her wand at him and muttering the spell ‘Mobilicorpus’. His body levitated off the ground. “You’re coming back with me.”

Once they had arrived at her house she set him down on the couch and just stared at him. “What happened to you? Oh right- what’s your name?”

Lucas- Gryffindor

Once he'd stumbled out of Jess's cottage he saw across the forest a pair of gleaming headlights. Of course. His parents ran out at him, but not in welcome.
"Where have you been!?" His mother shrieked. "The full moon ended and we were worried sick-" Lucas's heart lept, hardly daring to believe they'd be concerned for his well-being,
"-that you'd attacked someone!" His heart sank like a stone where it came to rest, pounding in his stomach. His father gave him a very nasty look that told him, quite plainly, that he was grounded. Neither of them seemed to care too much about the bite marks covering his body with red sores, or that the bags under his eyes were huge and black. Lucas always had some bags under his eyes, always had a graying face, was skinnier and stringy than any boy his age he'd met, and never looked his age. Everyone thought he was 19, but he couldn't even do magic outside school like Jess could, he was 16. Breathing deeply and keeping a straight face, he climbed into the backseat. His parents drove him the few miles back home and got out of the car without speaking to him. He couldn't blame them for being upset...He'd kept them waiting for at least a couple hours. Still, he was sad that they couldn't have shown at least a bit of fear when he swaggered out of the forest, barely able to stand up properly because of the chunks ripped from his legs.

When he got to his room, his mom walked in rolling her eyes and cast some spells on his legs and arms that made the pain lessen and the flesh less open and sensitive. They'd have to heal and scar on their own, though. The only problem with these spells was that they hurt like hell until they took effect a little while later. Feeling the open wounds on his arms and legs itching and pulsing as skin tried to regrow itself was not the most pleasant experience. He winced and moaned a bit through the pain, his mother holding down his hands to keep him from rubbing them with his swollen hands. When the last bit of skin was reaching and yanking across the wounds and the pain had reached his peak, his father, as if on cue, thundered into the room and slapped his hand across Lucas's mouth, muffling his sudden cries. At last when the sensation subsided, he sank back into his pillows and relaxed. His parents left the room without a word, this was routine to do to keep their shameful son in line and out of sight. Thinking of the girl who'd taken care of him, he knew she wouldn't have been as brutal. He absentmindedly touched his forehead where she had kissed him, and, grinning, fell asleep.

Lucas- Gryffindor

***

It had been fullmoon on the fifteenth of July, and it was now the 31st. ((Replies just took a while so just pretend that that had all been in one day kinda thing))

Lucas still couldn't get his mind off of that Jess/ica girl. He found himself counting down the days to the 13th in his head sometimes. He stopped and reminded himself that he was what his parents had called him- he was a beast, a monster. His mother's words rang in his ears,
"Of course we're the same, darling, I've just never had a tail."
But they were the same...just not at fullmoon. Just that he aged quicker...just that he loved raw meat, had scars across his body, a lined face...perhaps they were really different. It just didn't seem right. Jessica was so nice and kind and didn't even mind werewolves- how could she be wrong? His parents weren't very kind...and had taught him all his life, especially when he was bitten, that werewolves are dirty creatures who deserve to be hunted. He was their son, so they hadn't killed him of course...but they'd certainly crushed his spirit...
His mind was always at war these days. His heart full of guilt and a longing to see that girl again, but wasn't sure what she'd do if she ever found out he lied to her...she'd find out- eventually. Because she didn't seem stupid or dim at all. A bit naive when she was Jessica, perhaps too kind? But not an idiot. He sighed and lay down on his bed dwelling on these thoughts as he read his Hogwarts books, eager to start now that he knew if one person accepted him, maybe other witches and wizards at Hogwarts could...just one person. Just one person and his whole outlook was a bit brighter now.

Lucas's mother opened the door. She looked nice enough, and Lucas was keeping busy in his room reading his school books. She was always kind to strangers, took great pride in her daughter, but her son may not have existed at all. Catherine was working at the ministry, had her own place, and her husband was at his job, and Lucas was...well...she liked to think he wasn't really there. She was ashamed of him. So yes, it could get lonely around her and new people around wasn't a bad thing, unless they went prying and poking their noses around where it didn't belong, expecially concerning Lucas.

She smiled warmly at the girl and opened the door wide. "Sure thing, dear, come right on in." She pulled up a chair at the table and asked, "Would you like something to drink, perhaps a cup of tea?"

Jessica gave a soft smile and bowed her head once before entering. She'd stayed a year in Taiwan and the urge to bow to elders never really left. The girl sat down on the couch and nodded. "Tea sounds lovely, thank you Ma'am." Once the tea had arrived she took a sip and pulled out the paper she'd been writing on. So far it was mostly blank with the exception of the woman she'd seen half a month ago who'd first talked of hearing the werewolf (She lived literally in a cave... kind of scary that it was an actual address) the only information she gave was that it sounded like a wolf and now her extra bloomers were missing.

"So um, Miss Carter, do you know of Hogwarts?" Once it was obvious the woman was indeed a witch, she smiled again. "Well I'm new to the neighborhood but I have a few concerns. The other night I heard something quite strange in the back of my yard, a noise which sounded like a wolf of some sort. Then right after I met a boy named Lucas, I couldn't catch his last name, but if you had any information on either or if you know anything that would be great. He seemed really hurt so I was worried about him." She laughed awkwardly. "I thought we could be friends too.."

Jessica took a sip of the tea once more and brushed back her hair. The tension in the room was rising at an uncomfortable rate. What did she say? Was it bad?

User ImageThe woman nodded and the mention of Hogwarts and smiled, letting the girl go on. Then...she mentioned Lucas. Worry and anger flooded through her, she didn't speak a word until she was sure what she was going to say.
"I'm sorry, dear," But the dear she said now seemed to be strained and sarcastic. "Wolves are disgusting, filthy creatures and we don't speak of them at this house." She took another sip of tea, her mind racing.

How dare he! After all they'd done for him, he would allow someone to see him? No doubt this is why he was late. He was off flirting with some girl! She wasn't thinking so highly of the girl now, not like she had when she'd bowed in the door. The tension and awkwardness was almost palpable. Trying to sound casual, she asked;
"So what year are you going into at Hogwarts, dearie?"

Jessica frowned. "Wolves are disgusting?" She repeated, confused and slightly insulted. "I don't quite understand, ma'am.... but I'm entering as a seventh year, I'm 17." She looked down and sipped at her tea which had now gone cold and bitter. "I'm sorry to re-touch the topic, but I still don't understand why you dislike wolves, Miss Carter."

She frowned. "I assume you mean werewolves, as we are both knowledgable of the wizarding world. You do realize they can't control their instincts right? They have no choice to shift unlike an animagus." Jess had come out by now and her reserved kindness had turned to a pure anger. "This may be your house and excuse me for speaking my mind, but those who cannot control themselves do not deserve to be hated."

The girl stood up. "The tea has become bitter, Ma'am." Her eyes locked with the b***h's. Cold like the tea now was.

Her eyes were locked with this naive girl's, cold and harsh just as her's were. She refused to break eye contact or blink, and gave a very bitter smile. She ignored the comment about the tea,
"Don't deserve to be hated?" She repeated disbelievingly. She gave a very small tinkling laugh that showed the true emotion and hatred swelling up in her throat.

"They are a danger to everyone around them. Do you know how painful it is to transform into one of those hideous beasts? Very. And I don't ever want to experience it for myself, thanks. If they knew what was good for them, they'd hide together in packs like the dogs and monsters they are." She gave a wicked smirk at the end of this statement and then said, in a cold voice that reached down to the depth of her emotion, her ashamed feelings about her son, her hatred for him...
"If they are so much like us, then why have I never sprouted a tail?"
She stood up at the end of this statement, like she had the final word and say.
"Please leave." She said, cutting across the girl's speech. She went over to the door and held it open for the girl to walk out of.

Upstairs, Lucas was reading but was disturbed by voices in the dining room. Being able to take it no longer, he shouted, his voice echoing throughout the house, "What'sup mum?"

"Nothing, dear! Someone's just leaving." She shouted back, refusing to say his name now that their 'guest' knew it. She walked closer to the stairs now, blocking them from view so the guest couldn't get up them, she'd obviously heard Lucas's voice before and might recognize it now.
"Leave." She repeated.
