Beat stood quietly at the edge of the clearing, hiding more among the trees and shrubbery and trying to occupy himself with some berries off one of the bushes. He kept his back turned to his brother, trying to process what had happened that caused him to suddenly get so upset. It didn't make sense. What had he done to change his brother's mood?

Pach shuffled then slowly approached Beat. "I'm..." he trailed off and frowned unsure how to continue. "Beat, I didn't mean to..." he sighed. "I like her...a lot." he finally manged to get out. "I guess I got jealous. I'm sorry...I didn't mean too." he peered out at his brother from under his forelock, hoping that Beat wouldn't hate him for it.

He glanced back at his brother again, not really sure what to say. He laid his ears back and returned to nibbling berries off the bush. He could feel his brother's eyes staring into him from behind and sighed. "It's okay...I just don't want you to hate me. We've done everything together so far, but I guess it's time we each find someone...or something?" He asked, looking back again and tilting his head slightly.

Pach's eyes widened a bit in shock. "Hate you?" he said incredulously. "I could never hate you, Beat. You're my brother and...I...you know." he shuffled for a bit and coughed. "I just really want you to like Tin, and I want you two to be friends, I just didn't realize how I'd feel having someone else here. You're the only one who knows about her." he moved a step closer and gave his brother an affectionate nudge. "I trust you." he then sighed and chuckled a bit. "I thought maybe you'd hate me honestly."

Beat shook his head and smiled a bit. "I do like her, she's nice and can dance too. ....I guess you taught her that?" He asked, tilting his head again and stepping back out towards the clearing. He looked in the direction Tin went when she left and began to think. "If I'm the only one who knows...is that why she left so soon? Why doesn't she tell anyone in her herd?"

Pachelbel gently shook his head not wanting to upset his bells at the moment. "No, she knew how to do that already." he said with a slightly wistful sigh. He then snapped back and shook his head. "No, she always leaves as suddenly as she appears. Every time I come here I never know if she's actually going to show up or not." he then rolled his shoulders. "I don't know why she hasn't told anyone, although maybe she just doesn't want her herd in her private life. I suppose they could be really nosy." he pondered that train of thought for a few moments before shaking his head a bit. "We can't keep it a secret forever...especially if we keep seeing each other, which is why I wanted to tell you at least." he glanced off to the side. "And do me one favor? Don't tell Mom and Dad yet? They'd want to meet her and I think that would just make things complicated."

Beat frowned again as he thought about it. She'd have to eventually meet their family...and they would meet her herd. Maybe. "But what if mom and dad just find out? They'll want to meet her anyway! Andand...what if you two...you know..." he trailed off, laying his ears back again nervously.

Pachelbel had to take a moment to figure out exactly what his brother was aiming at. He blushed hard and then looked back. "We'll cross that bridge when it comes to it!" he said quickly. "And I doubt any of that will be happening any time soon. I've only known her for a few weeks and all."
He took a deep breath. "Everything will be fine Beat. I know she'll have to meet Mom and Dad some day, but that's not today, or tomorrow, and may not be any day soon. Trust me." he smiled reassuringly at Beat. "Everything will work out in the end."

Beat nodded and smiled, looking around the clearing and spinning in a circle. He was glad he wasn't losing his brother anytime soon. "Fair enough...well..unless you want to go explore, we should go home." He murmured, moving to stand at his brother's side again.

Pach watched his brother then grinned. "If you want I know where this really neat little pond is." he said starting in that direction. He wasn't sure if he'd push Beat in yet, but it was tempting. Letting the worries of the morning fade away to the glitter of water reflected through his brother's wings and the song of bells. That sounded like a decent afternoon to him.
"Race ya." he said giving one more glance back before taking off.
