Davey took a step back at the sight of the new ghost. It had a little hat, a giant moustache and... was that a monocle? And it was lecturing him on manners and etiquette. The Doctor sure hadn't been kidding when he said these ghosts were weird, Davey thought. If they had looked human then perhaps he wouldn't be so surprised by the human mannerisms, but on puffy floating blobs, it was just strange. He echoed the ghost's sigh as he drew Azrael once more. "I'm a soldier," he said bluntly. "I just follow orders. If you have a problem, take it up with the psycho doctor." Please, please, take it up with Doctor H. Davey would pay to see the three little ghosts trying to argue with, or 'educate', the doc on how he should be food, or put out of his misery, or have knocked or sent ahead notice that the Hunters would be dropping by for tea. ... God, Davey would kill for some tea right about now. Of course, the easiest way to get it was to catch this ghost and head back to the island. With that in mind, Davey tightened his grip on his sword and struck. He missed. Azrael didn't even bother bitching Davey out, he just let loose an irritated wail in Davey's head. Davey grit his teeth. You knew you were doing worse than just 'bad' when Azrael couldn't even find words any more. [[ HP: 16 Damage: 6 - 6 = 0 ]]

Spoon heard voices through the walls. It was dark. In fact, the boo couldn't see anything, or really feel anything but itself. It was sensory deprived except for the voices around it. It could hear the biped and another new voice.
"Food!" The boo cried as it zipped- around?- in its prison.

Theodore Winston just stared at the human as he sighed. No emphasis, no feeling. So sad, they were amateurs all of them. The blue Boo was distracted from his musings at the word 'soldier'. Soldier? He didn't have any idea to what that was. Maybe it was some special thing that only those with legs could be. He sighed mournfully, "There are more of you? What a bother. I suppose I will have to start by getting rid of you before I get rid of this....doctor." The twitch of his mustache showed how well he thought of this mysterious doctor. It wasn't much.
It was the fact that Theodore Winston had his long, morose eyes trained on the human that saved him from getting hit with his sword. As the weapon was swung the monocle'd Boo drifted to the side, avoiding the blade. "You don't even know how to start a proper fight." Floating closer the Boo somehow managed to raise one short little arm to take off his bowler and throw it in the human's face. "I challenge you to a duel, sir."
His execution was beautiful, the only problem was his bowler didn't quite make it to the human's face, instead it reappeared on Theodore Winston's head. "Oh, bother." He sighed and went to plan B. He barreled forwards using himself as a weapon, aiming for the intruder's legs. Theodore Winston may have still been battling a bit of leg envy.

The ghost trying to get rid of the doctor? Did Davey say he would pay money to see this? He would pay a LOT of money to see this. In fact, the sooner he got to hand these ghosts over and see what happened between all the annoyances in his life, the better. With that in mind, Davey turned his attention to Azrael. "Hey. We have enough of a charge built up, right?" ~What's this we business, you simpering ape? Can you store FEAR? Are you the one who powers up as a result?~ the sword sniffed. ~I have enough, yes. Now shut up and let me do my job.~Davey rolled his eyes, knowing that Azrael could feel the emotion, if not the action. It wasn't like he stood there doing nothing. Azrael would be a useless weapon lying on the ground without Davey. "Let's just get on with it," he suggested. A quieting of Azrael's presence in his head let Davey know the sword was concentrating on utilising the FEAR charge. Those ghost threw a hat in his face and Davey jerked out of reflex. When the hat passed through him and reappeared on the wisp's head, Davey felt a little silly. How was he supposed to know that ghostly accessories couldn't hurt him? The ghosts had been doing a fine job so far. This one wasn't an exception. Davey yelped as it slammed into his shin. "You little bugger," he swore. ~Ah, success!~ came the sudden interruption. FEAR flared around the sword and suddenly Azrael was dripping in bile. Davey smiled, his own satisfaction echoed by that of Azrael in his head. It was nice to know that they still had it when it counted. And now, it was time for the gentile ghost to become the first actual test subject of their super attack. [[ HP: 16 - 3 = 13 Damage: no damage done this round FEAR charge: SUCCESS, +2, lasts 3 rounds ]] Battleguide The Tainted Fang The Tainted Fang originated from members of Halloweentown that were poisonous. It wasn’t enough for them that their poisons were best effective in the Human World. As such, they experimented and learned to blend their Fear and natural poisons into an attack-boosting ability. Now, this technique does not require poison. At its core, this Fear boosts the regular attack of a combatant for a certain amount of turns.

The blue Boo was extremely happy with himself (though you couldn't tell by looking at his drooping mustache and long eyes) as he hit the human's legs and then bounced off, cartwheeling backwards. He came to a stop not too far from the invader, his bowler and monocle slightly askew from his attack. It didn't seem like he was used to such activity. It was actually a bit fun if he were to be honest.
Seeing the sword dripping in....something Theodore Winston sniffed, his mustache twisting. It was disgusting really, what these human's got up to, savages all of them. When no attack came the little ghost felt his confidence boost. Deciding to stick with the strategy that seemed to work he barreled at the two legger again, maybe he'd be able to knock him out of the house.

Setting up their FEAR charge had distracted both Davey and Azrael. Davey didn't notice the ghost dart right back in for a second strike, in exactly the same location as the first. It was rather embarrassing - he was a trained soldier and not only did he take his eyes off the enemy, but he'd failed to guard a blind spot that had already been hit.
"Will you stop that?" Davey demanded, hopping on his uninjured leg while trying to keep his balance. When the other leg touched the floor, Davey was relieved to feel it wasn't a serious injury. Hurt like the dickens, but overall much like a papercut in terms of danger to his health.
One small mercy was that this ghost was just headbutting, not trying to gnaw his ankle off. Down one arm was bad enough, thank you. He hadn't thanked the constantly starving ghost for trying to remove an arm, and Davey didn't want to lose a leg, either. (Just imagining all the 'hop to it' jokes from Doctor H made him shudder.)
"Let's see how you like this," Davey suggested as he brandished the poison-covered blade. He slashed at the ghost. This ought to improve his odds.
... Davey paused after the strike connected. Azrael was silent. Their combined exhilaration fizzled and flatlined.
~I think we may have overdone it,~ Azrael eventually ventured.
Davey sighed. Instant KO. "My luck today had been utter arse."

On his second successful hit something amazing happened. Theodore Winston actualyl started to laugh. It was a bit wheezey, and really it sounded like some combination of laughing and sighing, but it was there. It seemed the success of hitting the human twice, in his legs had just been too much for the poor Boo to handle.
It was also his downfall. He was so busy attempting to quell the strange, strange sound he was emitting that he never even saw the blade coming. There was only a moment when his eyes went wide, and his monocle started to fall before he disappeared, dead for the second time.
((HP: 0
edit: I'm not sure if you can still capture him if he's dead, if you can let me know and I will edit out the disappearing bit biggrin ))

(( Nah, 0 is dissipated. 1 - 3 is the catch zone. LMAO, no luck at all XD Totally fun, though <3 ))
Davey watched the ghost fade out to nothing. He sighed, a long deep sound that Theodore Winston would have been proud of.
"It's been a long day. Time to head home?"
Azrael made the mental equivalent of a raised eyebrow. ~Didn't you want the full set of three?~
"Unfortunately, we'll just have to tell the story of the one that got away. This has taken long enough, so the Doc'll just have to be happy with two." If Davey could settle for less, the doctor could suck it up and do the same. Not that he ever would. Davey was already bracing himself for the next round of insults.
Slowly, the bile dripped of Azrael until the blade was clean once more. Only then did Davey resheathe it. He eyed the strange house as he prepared to leave. Somehow he knew that he'd be back, sooner or later. But for now, he had a snarky doctor to try and appease.
[[ Davey is exiting back to Hunter HQ. ]]
