Taking note of the stallion’s confusion Reo edged closer and placed the plushie on his hind quarters. “This is a plushie it’s a small toy to be hugged and held. It was a gift from a dear friend of mine.” She picked the plushie back up and held it close. “I’ll head to village and see if anyone knows a good toy maker to requisition for some toys. I’ll be back later. Then I have to set about distilling some tinctures for the shop. I’ll be back later.” Reo turned and walked out both to put the plushie away and to head into the village. Alu-lote chuckled. “You know the little ones aren’t even hers and she loves and wants to spoil them. My bonded is so cute.” Shaking her head she looked to Dante amused. “Valerio~ such a strong name. I’m sure he’ll wear it with pride, after all he is your son.” Using her snout she nosed the young male to get him to let go of his father. “now little Valerio you shouldn’t.. oof! Alu-lote looked to see the little filly had somehow managed to kick out a hoof and caught her mother in the stomach, Losa’s hoof was now stuck under Alu-lote. The unipegasus lifted her belly up a bit so she could nose the filly’s hoof out. “Now little one if you keep that up I’ll have you sleeping in your own stall and that’ll be colder.” As if understanding her mother, losa calmed down and stopped fidgeting.

Dante looked at the plush consideringly. It was certainly softer then the things he'd always played with. When Reo placed it on his backside, it was unexpectedly soft and fuzzy against his skin, rather like the down of a small goose. He could see why a young thing would enjoy playing with something that couldn't possibly hurt it. "What other things do humans make for playing?" he asked curiously, gently pushing Valerio's mouth away from his braid. He laughed a bit as Losa kicked out, catching Alu-lote in the stomach. "Careful, little firecracker! Are you all right, Alu-lote?"

Reo was off an on a mission already so Alu-lote thought she could answer well enough. “Humans make many kinds of toys. There are balls which are… ” She thought for a moment. “The shape of the full moon and bounce when you strike them. I believe Reoakee may get some cloth balls for our little ones. Humans can also put the balls on a roll so that may hang from trees. Then the little ones can knock the ball back and forth to each other without the ball being lost.” Stretching her wings for a moment Alu-lote pondered on other kinds of toys. “Humans also make little wooden Azrein for their young to sit on. Many soft plushies such as the ones you have just seen, games involving toy sticks and things of that nature exist as well. I’m afraid I do not know all the kinds of toys humans use. My bonded was an adult when I met her and has no children of her own that I know of.. so all of my knowledge is from what I observe the village children playing with.” She chuckled. “Oh I’m alright. I think our little wild one was just feeling neglected and I certainly won’t let that happen.” With that said Alu-lote began to nuzzle the filly and use her mouth to pull on the blanket so that it would tickle the one inside. A small whiny escaped from under the blanket.

Dante nodded, halfheartedly wishing he'd had these toys to play with when he was young. "I didn't have much like that," he mused. "I ran through streams, dug tunnels in the snow, and played hide-and-seek with any animals I could find. But no toys." He smiled a bit. "These two will have much that I did not, I think. All to the good, I wouldn't wish my own childhood on anyone." He blinked with a new thought. "I'm not keeping you up, am I? You must be exhausted."

(Wondering from your last post if you wanted to draw this to a close. If so you can just have Alu-lote fall asleep while Dante is talking ^.^) “I did not have such things either. My bonded may or may not have. I’m not sure.” Her wing gave a slight shrug. “I did many of the same things you did.” She thought about it for a moment. “I am sure the little ones will be able to do all the things we did and more, which may be fun and entertaining.” She looked at him. “Well I’m a bit tired but I’ll be ok. I promise you that Dante.” She smiled. “Besides I like hearing you speak. What was so bad about your childhood?” Alu-lote laid her head down while she readied to listen to Dante.

(( Yes, indeed. :3 )) Dante sighed, looking away. "It wasn't bad, so much as lonely. I don't remember what happened to my parents.. no idea if they died, if they were killed, or if they just left. I taught myself everything." He gave a snort as he rearranged his wings to a more comfortable position. "The only reason I know speech at all is because of a couple Azrein who were found me in passing. They stayed with me for a few months and taught me, before going off again. Those two were eternal wanderers and I knew it, but it didn't stop me from missing them terribly." He gently nuzzled his little family, then laid his head alongside Valerio. Even he was a bit tired, but he knew he wouldn't go to sleep yet, keeping his eyes somewhat open.

-Time skip of a month- Alu-lote was a bit surprised. It had been a month and the little ones where up and could play and run. They were the lights of her soul. She hadn’t expected to feel such joy and peace from any other source save the bond she felt with Reoakee. Still having children to raise changed her mind on that a bit. She was in the back of the shop watching Losa try to get at some apples that where a bit to high for the little filly. “Little one do you want some help?”“Nu-uh” Losa shook her head at her mother for a moment before she put her front hooves on the apple tree’s trunk and stretched up as far as she could falling just inches short of the apple that had caught her eye. There were other ripe ones a bit closer, but Losa felt like being stubborn and was pushing herself to get the one she wanted. Failing yet again she fell to the side and shook her neck causing her hair to flap about. “I want to be able to do this myself like Valerio can.” She made a face. Her brother Valerio was her hero even though he was a hoof brained brother. One day she’d be even stronger than him.

As soon as the village was in sight, Valerio jumped in excitement and ran ahead of his amused father. He loved going walking with his family, and he loved listening to his dad's stories about living in the wilds of the western mountains. But he always felt so happy when they returned to the village. Ahead he could see his sister trying to grab the higher apples while his mother looked on. Maybe he could help. He slid to a stop next to Losa. "Hey sis," he greeted her, only a little out of breath. "Whatcha doin'?" He looked up at the apple, and back to Losa. "Did you try jumping? Or knocking it down?" He figured she could probably knock down at least a couple apples if she slammed her front legs against the trunk. After all, he'd seen their dad do the same.Dante finally walked calmly up to the little orchard, stopping next to Alu-lote and nuzzling her fondly. "We're back. How did you two hold up?" He and Valerio had been gone for a couple of days. Dante liked taking the kids out to see things that just weren't within an easy distance of the village, so sometimes they were gone for a few days at a time. He wanted to get them ready for the day he'd bring them to the western mountains of his childhood.

-post color cheat for the sake of crappy internet connection and next day edit in of quote since I forgot it..- (and edit since I don't know if it ever quoted you the first time..) “If I jumped I could get it, but I don’t wanna do that.” Nope that would be too humiliating. She was going to reach the apple all on her own. “I could try hitting the tree. I might not be strong enough alone. I’ll try to though. You just watch!” Losa backed up a few steps then she jumped forward with both of her front hooves out so that she could hit the tree with more force than just lifting and hitting the tree. The reverberations traveled up her legs and Losa winced. That had hurt a bit, but it was completely worth it. Not only did the apple she want drop but at least four others dropped down too. One of them bounced off her flank. “Hey hey look Valerio!” Nuzzling her mate back the horned pegasus giggled a bit. “Oh we’ve been doing just fine. First Losa managed to get the ball stuck in the rafters of the stable and now she is bound and determined to get all her apples on her own. I think she’s practicing for getting the ball back. I told her we would wait and just have Reoakee get it for us. Losa didn’t seem to keen on the idea. How was your outing with Valerio? Do you think the little ones are strong enough for more extensive trips away from town yet? I know Losa is bound and determined to prove she as strong as her brother.”
