So far so good. Candace kept her pace at a cautious walk, stopping only when she heard something coming at them from further down the hall. It sounded like...hooves. "You have got to be kidding m--look out!" Candace pushed Aria back against the wall as a large creature nearly the size of the hallway charged right past them, turning slowly when it realized it didn't trample either woman and snorting foggy clouds out of its nose. "What the ********! Harrison and I killed you already."It snorted again, digging at the ground with one of its hoof-like feet and lowering its head. It was ready to charge again. Aria arched an eyebrow at the request. Mist Tower? She considered. As a division leader, she did not have to run the courses anymore. The last time she did it...
...Hopefully the princess wouldn't be someone she knew personally. "Once everything gets settled down, perhaps. I'm going to be heading back out into the world beyond Deus soon. There are other places where hunters are needed. Especially Mists. The fact that we can jump in and fill in means in times like these, people are glad to have us around to share the duties. Even if it means pulling two divisions at once." She stopped, glancing at Candace and grinning. "I wouldn't worry about that though. Even though you're nearing the end of your training, it'll be a long time before you'll have to play two roles at once. You need to get more experience under your belt."
But then again, that probably wouldn't stop some hunters from trying. Or from dumping duties onto them in order to slack off or take some rest. There were all sorts of different people on Deus Ex, and Aria ran into a majority of them as a trainee. It made her rather biased and bitter towards the other divisions, trainees or not.
"Learning an additional weapon can't hurt. While you're a trainee you should take the opportunity to experiment. Once you find weapons you like, stick with them. We may be able to fill in for other roles, but nothing beats an experienced weapon. It's one of the reasons why Suns are so dangerous: the sheer amount of time they spend training -- or should spend training with their weapons makes them a formidable opponent. And when they get it in their heads to master more than one weapon..."
Upon hearing the decision, Aria nodded. "Lead on."
She didn't fight or resist as the trainee backed her against the wall. In fact, it earned Candace an approving look before all attention was focused on the monster. The division side-stepped around Candace and fired, coating the monster and the hallway in enough fire to choke it.
...Aaaand it was still standing. "Oh come on!"

Candace only caught the tail-end of the look Aria had given her. Her words were distracting her, ringing through her head like a choir of angels.
Even though you're nearing the end of your training.
You're nearing the end of your training.
The end of your training.
She..she was almost...?! Really?! Aria felt she was almost ready to finish training and be a full Hunter?! Wide eyes turned up to the woman, just watching her leader in awe. A full-fledged hunter. Sure, she'd still need to practice with things because every hunter surely had to keep up with their learning and training even after being promoted out of the trainee level but...
This was the best news she'd heard all week.
Her spirit was certainly very high as Aria whined about the large creature still being alive, laughing and shaking her head. "It's the honeybadger. It doesn't give a ******** about your fire~." She grinned, waiting for a clearing in the flames before she hurried in. Had to get to it before it got them. Though there seemed to be no issue with that right now. She did brush flame with her elbow but she fought through the burn, hissing as she lifted a leg and turned on her heel, not only slicing the creature something fierce but making it stumble and slam hard into a wall covered with flames.
...It was super dead now.
Candace cheered, jumping and clapping with excitement as she hurried back to Aria's side. "Let's keep going. This is going great!" Oh, she was in a very good mood right now.

Oblivious to the effect her words had, Aria scowled at the creature. It should have been taken down. Wasn't she a division leader? She was supposed to be a badass, she was supposed to be top dog, she was supposed to be perfect -- And whining like this is ridiculous. Shut up, Aria. You're not the goddamn Batman. You can try all you'd like to be perfect, but all you're going to do is waste your time. Get over it. She tightened her grip on her weapon and was preparing to finish it when Candace rushed in, lowering the device as the creature slumped and dissolved into fog. "You really don't want anything getting back up again once it's knocked down, don't you?" Aria laughed, shaking her head as she lead the way down the corridor. "Ugh! Littles," Aria groaned, snapping her flamethrower up to douse the creature in flames. It worked, however now the pitiful tiny creature was now screeching at the top of its lungs while on fire. A muscle in Aria's cheek seemed to twitch as she stared, her expression deadpan as yet another Insanity monster lived through her attack. Seriously? Seriously?

"That is correct, ma'am." Candace grinned. "I want to sleep in a real bed, okay? The bunks down there are so friggin' uncomfortable." She shook her head at that, keeping Atropos summoned as she started to move further down the hall...until she heard Aria groan. Eh? She didn't even get to see the creature before it was engulfed in flames. Candace blinked, just staring and watching as it screeched and rolled around in agony. "That's...kind of sad.." Not Aria, the poor suffering creature. Use me. Candace raised a brow. Use me. UsemeusemeusemeusemeUSEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!Hell no! She was not wasting a charge on a rat thing. Candace put it out its misery by stomping the flames out. Or rather she stomped down on the creature and made it go squish until it dissipated into fog. "I hear you!" Aria laughed. "The place is too nosy and too... public, even in the Council-only chambers. Edith isn't bad, but... Well. You know how the other division leaders are." She left it at that, shaking her head. That was then followed by a shudder. "The sooner the dorms are cleared, the sooner we can all get enough rest. I've been catnapping here and there when I can myself." After Candace stepped on it, Aria just... stared at the remains that smoked under Candace's weapon-boot. Then she nodded. "Y-yeah, let's." Candace hummed thoughtfully, tapping at her chin. "Caelius probably isn't so bad. The worst you get from him is a pouty glare and occasionally getting told you suck, right? Allan...okay..and H..." Her cheeks flushed, scratching at her cheek. "Shameless man. Simply terrible. How's he doing, anyway? I heard he smelled like month old fish after he returned." Not that she'd gotten close enough to experience that smell. She was rather glad she hadn't. Allan had been hurt too, right? His arm or something. She couldn't remember it clearly. "It's nice to see her around, though. Edith, I mean. She's the Moon lead, I'm guessing? Harrison will be happy..." And a happy Harrison made Candace happy too. But Aria only catnapped? That wasn't good at all. Candace frowned. "I don't know how you do it. No sleep but you can still fight like you do. I can barely function if I don't get enough sleep." She shook her head with a sigh, continuing on down the hall. The fog seemed to get thicker the further in they went..
She heard it when Aria heard it, but the amount of fog made it difficult for her to determine what direction was what. Where was the wall where was--oh! There it was! She pushed back against it, giving a yelp as something slammed into her. She kicked at it as it passed.

"You would be surprised," Aria replied, shaking her head. "My fellow leaders? I can... deal with them. The Council members are another sort entirely. I have no regrets sneaking into their facilities and using them." Aria glanced at Candace, clarifying, "The council members rank above the division leaders. You may have seen them from time to time in Deus, but otherwise they do a majority of the background work that keeps Deus running. Or so they claim." A shrug. "I prefer to keep to myself; it is not my concern as to what they do and co not do." Negligence at its best, Aria. Another glance was slid aside to Candace as she asked about H. "He was a large inspiration for sneaking into the council facilities and using them." She shrugged. "Anyrhing more then that, and you're better off asking him yourself." Aria left it at that. While she was suspicious, it wasn't her place to pry. After all, Aria knew she wasn't exactly an inspiration to her own division. Perhaps there was something in the other leader that Candace looked up to. Aria dismissed the thought quickly. Candace and Cass both expressed more than once their affinity and adoration for the divsion. She wasn't in danger of losing either to another division. Yet. Possibly. It was a shame neither of them showed an interest in becoming an inner Mist, yet at the same time Aria couldn't blame them. As the creature charged, Aria raised her flamethrower and struck once Candace was in the clear. (( roll for me again maybe? 8Da at work, no options to roll ))

Her room? Candace glanced at the number they were at. It wasn't too far off, she supposed...but did she need anything out of it? She pouted her lips, giving it serious consideration. She had her clothes, she had her toiletries, she had everything that was important for when being out of the room.
Nope..she was good.
"I stopped at my room the other day and got what I need, I think. If you want though we can make our way up to your room if there's anything you want to pick up." She still felt okay to keep going for a little while longer. And if she felt fine then no doubt Aria felt like she was walking through the ******** part right now. Jealousssss.

Aria inclined her head in a nod, lowering her weapon and gesturing. "I wouldn't mind, but... it's up on the third floor. That's a bit of a way's away." She glanced down the hallway towards the stairs, considering. "I can make do without, so it's nothing big. But -- ah, look at me." She shook her head, nodding towards Candace. "I said you'd take the lead, right? And here I am, being miss bossy boots. Your lead."

Candace shrugged. "That's fine by me. The more of this place we clear out the better, right? We shouldn't neglect the second and third floors just because we kill a bunch of things down here. There's no telling what's upstairs." Candace mused, looking down the hall toward where the stairs to the next floor was and then back at Aria as she seemed to catch herself. She really didn't mind; just because she was acting as the lead didn't mean she wouldn't take advice, suggestions and orders from her division leader.
"Even if you can't think of anything you want to get we should still head up there. And don't worry about being Miss Bossy Boots, you're still my leader even if you've placed the decisions on me." Candace laughed, grinning as she gestured for Aria to follow her. She checked what room number they were at, humming thoughtfully. The stairs shouldn't be far off now. "This place is so huge. Have they ever even used all of the trainee dorms at one time? There's what...two hundred rooms on this floor?" She didn't know the second or third floors well enough to know how many were up there. She only knew um..one room on the third floor and two rooms on the second. Everything else was still a mystery to her. "..Can I pick my new room while I'm up there?" Candace asked with excited curiosity. Would it be assigned to her like her trainee dorm or could she pick? She wanted to be close to a hunter she actually knew!

"Exactly why we should also proceed with caution," Aria reminded her, nodding in acknowledgement. "And yet the more we clear upstairs the less likely something will surprise us from above." Maybe. Freaking phoenixes.
Aria followed after Candace, stopping when the trainee stopped and moving only when she did. At the comment about leadership, Aria shrugged. "You need to learn how to take the lead sometime, right? It's better to find ot here, rather than afield. Besides..." She trailed off, glancing up and down the hallway. "Honestly I'd like to swing by my room for a quick change of clothes. And to snatch something edible to eat, y'know?"
They began to ascend the stairs. "I honestly don't know. As a trainee, most of my training was... off-island." A shrug. "And after training, I was too busy trying to catch up. If I wasn't on mission or training, I was in the library."
"Besides," Aria hurried on before how little of a social life she had could be brought up, "The casualty list hasn't been finalized. You can look, but I wouldn't select a room just yet. You don't know whether it still has am occupant or not. Not to mention," she continued, "You don't know who you neighbor is. All the more reason to wait."
