Meeting Up Again
It took Tallulah minimal time to get to where the dark Drakein was waiting for him, his eyes a bit wide with worry as he rushed over to him, "What is it? What happened? Are you alright?" Perhaps he was acting far too worried over the Diabi but he just couldn't help it! He knew how much Eyphah enjoyed a good battle, the fact that he had lured Tallulah away from the fight with the Firani instead of joining in meant that something much have gone terribly wrong while they were separated! The Merkein set to circling around his friend, looking him over, looking for new scars, trying to figure out what it was that had caused him to come here looking for Tallulah. After a while though he gave pause, looking all that much more confused. He didn't see any new scars, at least none that were life threatening, in fact Eyphah appeared as though he were in good health and good spirits if the look on his were any indication. What was it that he was missing? It had to be something important... right?
"What... what is going on?" He asked, taking a couple step closer to the big Diabi, sniffing at him. He was unable to come up with a single thing that looked wrong about the other male meaning that whatever it was that brought Eyphah here it was personal. What could it be though? Had the Diabi found a new student? Did he think that Tallulah was ready to be on his own? Had he found a mate? Was it something even more then that? Already the Merkein was fretting and Eyphah hadn't even said anything yet. It was proof positive that he was getting far too attached to his teacher and that maybe it wouldn't be so bad if Eyphah decided that they needed to part ways. He said that now but of course the idea of doing so didn't really sit well with him.
The Diabi stretched out all over as the Merkein circled him and questioned him, waiting for a moment when Tallulah finally fell silent so that he could speak up himself, "What's going on is that we are going to be going on another hunt together. I was thinking about it during a couple battles against the most grating dragons around that we should do another hunt like the one against those delicious Firani. I asked my mother about it, got a bit of advice from her, and she told me exactly where it was that we had to go and what it was that we should try our luck against." He said, all but purring in delight as he spoke, his tail wagging, his eyes seeming to be glittering, "There are these big dragons that wander the area called Gaili, we each fond one of their orbs some time ago. They are the most powerful dragons in Eowyn and they are the ones that we are going after! I say that if they are the strongest creatures about then they are the ones we need to focus on, it's the only way for us to get stronger! Not to mention I'd rather go after something big and powerful instead of throwing myself into the water time and again in hopes of finding those damn Peisio... erm, no offense."
"Eh... eh? So... a hunt...?" Eyphah wanted to hunt with him again and that was why he had sought him out? If that were the case then why didn't he jump in and help with the Firani? Then again he was talking about fighting with the 'most powerful dragons in Eowyn' so maybe the Firani no longer registered as prey for the powerful Diabi? He couldn't help but to be completely impressed by Eyphah as always, his tail wagging behind him. This was why Tallulah fought so hard, because of his desire to be just like this amazing Drakein. Well, if he thought that they should go hunting for the Gaili then there was no reason not to, right? In fact they should start out now and try to find the powerful dragons as soon as possible! The sooner they fought the Gaili the sooner they got the orbs and the sooner they both because all that much more powerful! Giving a nod of his head and a smile he said, "Alright! We should go then! The Gaili await, right?"
The Diabi starred a moment at Tallulah before he started to laugh in a hearty manner, "Yes, exactly! Come on then, it's best that we start out now. I am not quite sure where those big guys roam so best that we start out as soon as possible, track them down, and take their orbs for ourselves!" He said, his maw splitting open into a wide grin before he started forward toward the heart of Eowyn on foot with his Merkein student following closely behind. They had all day to find the Gaili but the sooner the better if you asked Eyphah. This was wonderful! He'd been a little worried that Tallulah would want to continue on with his personal hunts instead of following Eyphah toward certain danger. The fact that he was willing to come with him pleased the Diabi to no end, both because he'd missed Tallulah and because he really didn't want to fight the Peisio. He'd skip by those annoying dragons and find something more interesting and land dwelling to battle with along with his wonderful student. Who'd of thought that Tallulah would become someone so integral to his plans in such a short amount of time. It made the Diabi quite happy that he'd picked him up once upon a time ago. Without Tallulah who knew where the Diabi would be at the moment... and without Eyphah who knew where the adorable Merkein might be, eaten most likely.
"Keep up with me Tallulah and soon enough we will both be the most amazing Drakeinian and Merkeinian in the whole of the world!" Not that he'd met any of them himself but he would like to believe that they would be the best ones ever. Likely his ego talking but who cared? Surely not the Diabi.

Parting Ways
The battle with the big, ferocious Gaili had been one that was more then a little exciting, one that both dragon had enjoyed, and both had profited for greatly in the form of three golden brown orbs each. It was also a testament to the power that they had when they worked together to reach a goal. Both had big dreams after all and every battle that they went through, be it together or apart, they were taking strides toward that goal... though at the moment Tallulah knew that he wanted to do something that would force them to part ways for a time, maybe for longer then they had done the last time. The pretty Merkein looked up from where he was soaking in the oasis they were camped at and set to studying his hunting partner, debating over his words closely, before finally speaking up, "Eyphah... I was thinking that I might head back into the ocean for a while." He started, "It's been a while since I have seen my clan and my mother, not to mention that I want to see about hunting some of the Peisio Dragons that dwell there." Surely if he kept up with his hunting and didn't slack off the Diabi wouldn't mind him going home for a time, right?
Eyphah looked up from the orbs he'd been admiring to stare at Tallulah for a long moment... then set to laughing, "Really? That's actually a good thing, I mean I was thinking about heading out from Eowyn for a while myself but I wasn't quite sure how to break it to you since we just got back together recently." As in this morning so that they could hunt down to those Gaili. Now that he knew that Tallulah was thinking the same thing that he was thinking, about going hunting on his own, the Diabi felt a lot better about his desires to head out. In fact now he felt like he could chat about it with him, "I was thinking about heading to a place called Aisko. I hear it's a rather horrid place, cold all the time and covered snow. Not a place I'd go for fun but there is a tribe of dragons there called the Aiskala. I think going to fight them would be a good thing, it would help me to get stronger! Not to mention I want some of their orbs to add to my collection."
His tail then set to swishing, kicking up a bit of sand as he continued, "Knowing that you will be going home to your family, that puts my mind at ease. I have to admit I was a little worried that you might get hurt or something while I was away. It should be fine though if you are in the ocean, that is your natural habitat after all." Knowing that his Tallulah was safe with a clan of other Merkein was a nice thought... though it did make him rather curious. In his life time he'd only ever seen two Merkein, Tallulah and Naia, and the idea that were more of them under the surface of the water, it was a strange thought. Such elusive creatures, it made the fact that he'd found Tallulah all that much more special to the Diabi who had such a love for strange, rare, and beautiful things... all of which described Tallulah along with many more complimentary descriptions, "Hrm... how long do you think we should part ways this time? How long will you want to spend with your clan?"
Tallulah seemed to have to think about that one, "Hm... I can't say exactly. I want to visit with them of course, spend time with them, catch up, and tell them about my progress so far but I also want to battle while I am there. I guess... until I have gathered enough Peisio Orbs and feel strong enough to go to Aisko to find you." He said after a lot of thought. He knew it was far from precise but his time in the ocean all depended on his battles against the Peisio and how difficult they proved to be, "Once I feel I have progressed as far as I can against them I should probably follow your lead and hunt the Aiskala, huh?" It seemed the logical next step after all.
"Sounds good to me, I can't say that I know how long I will be in Aisko but I see no reason why I can't hunt there for a while and wait for you to join me." He said, then thought about it, "I am going to hunt around the peninsula that is found in North Central Aisko, so long as you head there I am sure that you will be able to find me." He had complete trust in Tallulah that he would be abe to find the place, so long as he was to look for it from the water. It was odd but the Merkein seemed to have zero directional sense unless he was in the water, in which it seemed that it was much easier for him to find things. After a moment of thought he quickly added, "Aisko is far South from Eowyn, so long as you head South you should be able to find it. Now, repeat to me what I just said? Where is Aisko and where will I be?"
The Merkein starred at Eyphah, wanting to act huffy and insulted over the fact that he was being quizzed... but given his past when it came to getting lost he supposed it made sense, "I am to go South to find Aisko and you will be on a peninsula that is located in North Central Aisko." Wow, go South to find him North... no wonder he was being quizzed, that sounded confusing as all get out. He was going to have to see about getting help in finding Aisko. He was sure his mother knew where it was, she had traveled a lot in her youth, and if anyone was to help him find the peninsula it would be her. He just wouldn't tell Eyphah that he was getting help from her was all, he wanted to appear as though he'd found the place all on his own after all. Pushing up on his feet the Merkein waded out fo the water so that he could go and sit next to his friend and teacher, giving him a toothy smile, "Be sure to fight hard while you are in Aisko, I don't want to catch up with you and find you were slacking off." He said in a teasing manner.
Eyphah gave a snort, "I could say the same for you given that you are running back home to play." He said, giving a bit of a smirk before he said, "Be careful while you are hunting, alright? I won't have my student getting his tail handed to him while he is in his own element." Strange... now that he knew that they were parting ways without a time frame as to when they were meeting up again he couldn't help but to feel a little unhappy about the turn of events. Tallulah was his after all and he didn't like giving up things that were his even temporarily... but given that the Merkein had a clan that he loved he would need to allow it. Heh, looking at him acting all grown up, his Gaili mother would be proud, "Come on, let's get some rest before we head in our separate directions, shall we? We want to be at our best before we start picking fights with more dragons." He said, resting his head on his forefeet.
Tallulah smiled, nodding his head, before he said, "You be careful as well. I won't be there to heal you anymore after all." He told Eyphah before he laid his head down next to that of the Drakein, allowing his eyes to sink closed. A bit of rest would be nice he thought to himself. He'd drop his Gaili orbs off in his underwater stash then he would head for home, eager to see if he couldn't fight a few Peisio Dragons on the way. The idea of parting ways with his friend for an extended period of time was a tough one but he felt that in the long run it would benefit them both to do a bit more solo hunting. They'd meet up again soon enough so he wouldn't allow himself to worry.

Back Home
The rescue that he had been so lucky to receive by his mother and the clan was one that Tallulah was more then grateful for. He was pretty sure that he was about to become a snack for those Peisio after all and were the other Merkein to have shown up a little while later he might have been eaten up. Not exactly how he wanted to be found, having wanted to find some Peisio Orbs to bring home with him, wanting something pretty to show off to them. A shame that instead of that his clan had found him at a weak moment. It would have been so much nicer had they found him whilst he was defeating those three on his own. Such a shame really, he could have looked so cool he thought to himself, making a bit of a face as they swam along toward the reef where their family often bedded down. It was good to see that such a basic thing hadn't changed while he was away. Not that he was really gone long enough for the clan to change something like that without him being aware. This was a good nesting spot for the Merkein after all so why would they leave the reef behind he told himself.
Moving forward he settled down on a piece of the coral, tail swishing, and he happily studied the others around him, "It feels like it's been forever since I've been home." He said to his mother who came to settled down next to him, nuzzling against him, then inspected her son closely, then said, "You seem to be a little scraped up, aren't you? You should take better care of yourself my little Tallulah." She scolded him softly before she set to casting one of her powerful healing spells, aiding him in feeling refreshed, though even her great power wasn't quite enough to rid him of the scars that he'd picked up in the various tussled he'd been a part of since leaving home. It was something that caused her a bit of worry, not wanting to think about her son getting in harm's way even though that was a part of growing up.
Tallulah let his eyes close, enjoying the refreshing feeling of such a strong healing spell, the sort that put his own spells to shame, before he said, "I have a few scars here and there but they were all well worth it. I found a good teacher for myself while I was on land, fought with all manner of dragons, and have been collecting a whole horde of orbs." He said, then gave a soft huffing sound, "I just wish I could have had some Peisio orbs to show you when you found me... instead of having you find me in such a condition as the one I was in..." He was rather embarrassed by it all really. The last thing he wanted was to be seen like that... but better it was his mother who saw him in such a jam instead of Eyphah he decided.
The larger Merkein tilted her head to one side, "A teacher? What sort of teacher, Tallulah?" She asked in a curious manner, wondering if he had made friends with one of the various tribes of two-legs that roamed the land. Not to mention that she was curious what sort of lessons he was being given if he was of a mind that a few scars were alright. He should have trained first to get better at the healing arts before he went into battles against dangerous creatures that would scar him up she thought to herself in a manner that only a mother could.
It was time for the Merkein to squirm in place a bit, looking embarrassed for a moment, before he finally said, "Ahhh... his name is Eyphah and he is a Drakein I met not long after I surfaced. He... umm... help me out of a jam and has been helping me with my training ever since." He said, doing his best to dance around certain things, not wanting for his mother to worry too much because she found out what sort of Drakein he was or what sort of 'jam' Tallulah had been in not all that long after surfacing. If she were to learn all the details she might not want him to go back to the surface again and it wasn't something that he could allow, not when he was doing so well and getting so strong. He needed a teacher like Eyphah to keep pushing him or he would never reach his potential, something that he refused to even consider. He was going to be a Merkeinian one day, a big, powerful, and beautiful one, and if it meant sneaking off when nobody was looking he would do that he thought to himself before he gave his mother a smile, "He's a good teacher, so don't worry."
Telling the female not to worry seemed to only make her worry that much more... but she couldn't really force him to sit still, he was growing up and he was testing himself, his powers, and his boundaries. If she was to try to hold him back he would only run off when her back was turned and that would be the worst since then she wouldn't know where he was at. Giving a sighing sound she said, "Alright, alright... I will trust you in this instance but if that teacher of yours gets you hurt I will eat him." She threatened in a tone of voice that made Tallulah believe her completely.
"I will make sure that doesn't happen, it would be a shame for you to eat my teacher." He said, giving a grin, "Though you don't have to worry, I am not leaving yet. I still have much training to accomplish and he isn't really the sort that cares for the water. Once I am ready I will go meet him in Aisko but for now I am content to stay home and hunt in familiar territory." How long it would last he had no idea, but for the moment he was content to hunt the Peisio. At some point they were sure to become too easy but until that point he'd continue to train and prepare himself for the moment he left home so that he could venture to Aisko instead.

Heading to Aisko
A good amount of hunts of the Peisio Dragons and a lot of time with clan later and Tallulah felt the draw to leave the water once more taking hold of him quite tightly. He loved it down in the ocean, he really did, and he really loved his family as well, but he knew that if he stayed still too long he was going to grow rusty in a way that his currently drive just couldn't allow for. He wanted... more. He knew that the road ahead was a difficult one, to become a Merkeinian wasn't something that just anyone could do. It involved a whole lot of struggle on the part of the one forging down that path and he knew that he might very well be at this for some time trying to reach the goal that was laid out ahead of him. It was a difficult thing, his mother had told him as much, but she also told him that there was nothing that he couldn't do so long as he put his all into everything that he did. He couldn't hold himself back, he had to go forth and do his best! That was what he was doing now, he was getting ready to go. Already he'd taken the Peisio orbs that he'd gathered to where his underwater stash was, tucking them away where they would be safe with the others. From there he sought out his mother, knowing that if anyone knew the best way to get to Aisko it would be her.
The moment that he approached her the big Merkein female seemed to understand that he was getting ready to leave, something that had her starring at him in a sad manner though only because she was going to miss her 'baby boy' while he was on yet another leg of his journey, "You're going, aren't you?" She murmured, swimming closer to her son so that she could give him a little nuzzle against his neck, "You promise to work hard for your teacher and to be careful in your battles, alright? I don't want you getting anymore scars just because you think that pushing yourself is more important then healing yourself." She told him, not wanting for him to get more scars because he got into too big a hurry. He had the power to heal himself so he should damn well be healing himself!
Tallulah would have blushed if a Merkein were able to do so as his mother scolded him about not getting anymore scars. Surely she must know that as a male it was alright for him to end up with a few scars... sure, as a female she might not want them but Eyphah seemed to think they were badges of honor. Still, best that he try to find some sort of middle ground so that neither of them got upset he thought to himself before he said, "I will do my best not to end up too scarred up." If he got a few of them, no matter, but he would do his best to heal his wounds after his various dragon battles to make sure that he didn't end up with as many of them as Eyphah had. Scars were alright but he wasn't sure sure if he wanted as many as the Diabi had, "I figure I need to practice my magic anyway so I might as well focus on healing magic at the moment. I am sure it will be good for not only myself but for my teacher as well." Eyphah was the sort to charge head long into battle after all and if he could heal the Diabi up after one of his run ins with the various beasts of the world then he would do just that.
There was a moment where the Merkein seemed to fall silent, as though both were trying to figure out what to say. Goodbyes were always the hardest Tallulah thought to himself before he put on his best smile, "It's going to be alright! I am going to go to Aisko, get stronger with the help of my teacher, and soon enough I will return back here a Merkeinian!" He said, tail swishing behind him before he gave a chuckle, "Though I might be back to visit before that... I'd hate to say I am most definitely returning a Merkeinian since that would mean I'd have to be away for a really long time." He mused to himself and his mother. He really didn't want to leave and stay gone until he attained his goal after all, it would mean a lot of time without his mother and that was most certainly not something he cared to think about for even a moment.
The big female smiled, giving him another nuzzle, "Alright, and that is good to hear, I don't want you staying away because you feel you need to impress the clan. Everyone is in awe of the strides you are making so you don't have to stay away until you become a Merkeinian, I assure you." She told before he turned in the direction that her son would be heading, "So, Aisko... that is a good long swim South so you will want to get going soon... ahh... you know, how about I come with you a ways? Just to make sure that you find the place." She figured that way she would also be able to spend a little bit longer with her son before he headed out of the ocean and back onto land with his teacher. She just didn't want to let him go so soon. It felt as though he'd only just come home after all and already he was looking to leave again. It only made sense for someone his age to want to adventure, battle dragons, and get strong, but it didn't mean that as a mother she had to accept the fact tht her baby was growing up.
"Come on, I will lead the way to Aisko... but don't worry, I will let you do the last leg of the journey yourself. I won't embarrass you by going with you to introduce myself to your teacher." As much as she would like to meet the one who had been so helpfully training her son she knew she couldn't, she had far too much to do to sit around waiting for the teacher to appear after all. Best that she let her son meet him on his own, she would just make sure that he made it to his destination safely was all.
Tallulah seemed to think on it for a time before he slowly nodded his head, "Ahhh... alright, so long as your promise you will let me go to Aisko alone." The last thing he wanted was for his mother to meet his teacher, not before the results of the training he was receiving from the Diabi paid off. Then and only then would he let them meet because if he was able to attain his goals and become Merkeinian then surely she wouldn't be able to complain about the one who had trained him, right? He knew Eyphah, knew that he had a good side to him, but others would just look at him, see a Diabi, and not trust him passed that. It wasn't something that Tallulah would allow since he liked his teacher so much, "Let's get going then! The icy continent awaits, as does my teacher." He said, tail swishing from side to side in the water, and mere moments later the two of them were heading out. It wouldn't be a long trip but it would be an enjoyable one, how often after all did he get time one on one time with his mother given her rank and role in the clan after all? It was going to be wonderful, he knew that for a fact, though he was also sure the time together with her wouldn't last nearly long enough before they were both heading their separate ways once more.
