"Conjoined at the mind, heart, and soul" ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Lin looked at Chrome and Llia, a weak half-smile set on her face. "We're sorry about freaking out on you guys. The gunshot brought back some horrible memories for me and Kei. I hope you guys will understand." she told them. There was also the fact that most people naturally didn't take a liking to gunshots going off near them, but she decided that was pretty obvious.
Kei didn't bother responding to the girl or the boy. Instead he retreated to the kitchen to satisfy his growing hunger, which he was just about to do before he came across a female figure with...fox ears? And.. was that tail? He recognized the violet hair and eyes, however. She was the girl who had greeted them at the door. When did she get fox ears and a tail?"Miriam...? Or was it Mary?" Kei thought to himself, trying to remember. He wasn't very good with names. Looking at her face, he assumed that she had been crying. Strange, as she seemed perfectly fine earlier. "....Nice cosplay." the boy said out of the blue as he walked by her and into the kitchen area.

 Chrome and LliaThey nodded. "Yeah. We, or I rather, understand." Chrome said. "What's that supposed to mean?" Llia said, addressing Chrome. "It's not like I can speak for you." "Yeah, whatever. I get it." She said, looking at Lin.(OOC: Lazy...)

Mariam jumped a little after hearing Kei's comment then touched the top of her head lightly. 'Oh, crap...I forgot about these...I can't make them go away immediately or he'll figure it out...'she thought, before stepping into the kitchen. "Thanks, I tend to do this sometimes."the kitsune said, while taking out a medium sized sauce pan then taking out a few ingredients.

"Conjoined at the mind, heart, and soul" ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Lin chuckled as she listened to them. "I've never met anyone quite like you two before." she said. "Sorry for my gawking when you guys first arrived, but I just think it's so amazing. How two minds can share one body." she admitted. "Were you guys always this way? Ah, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." the brunette quickly added, blushing lightly. She wasn't nosy, but her curiosity sometimes got the best of her. Her bright green eyes lit up in anticipation as she awaited an answer.
Meanwhile, Kei had grabbed himself a snack and a can of soda from one of the cupboards. He nodded after hearing Mariam, taking a seat on one of the counter stools. "I see." the boy replied. "I didn't know they made them look so....real." he said, leaning on the countertop and resting his chin on his hand as he regarded the girl, his expression unreadable.

Chrome and LliaLlia smirked. "Da** right it was-" "It's alright." Chrome interrupted, before she could finish. Chrome often did this when Llia was about to say something rude, or when she was going to cuss. He was generally a more gentler person, which was the main reason he did this.
Chrome smiled. "No, no, it's fine. Llia probably remembers better than me..." He said, and Llia laughed. "Boy knows his place..." She said quietly. She put her hands on her hips and began explaining, every once in a while making strange arm motions. "Well, to avoid some complicated shi- take "Lets start the night I remember." Chrome shook their head (not that Lin would be able to tell which one it was... unless she noticed that Chrome's face was softer.) "No, no, no. I suppose I should start then." Chrome said, and Llia made a face. "Whatever."
"So, we start when I was almost 5. I'm more or less certain Llia was the same age." "Correct" Llia interjected. Chrome ignored this, and continued. "Well... to be vague, I died. How exactly, I'm not sure. I'm suspect a stabbing, but this isn't important." He said, with a bit of a laugh in his voice. "Anyways, the point is I died. I didn't exactly know I was dead for a few minutes until I saw my own body on the ground. The most terrible feeling... knowing you're dead... and nobody can see you... even though you're right there... they cry, you cry... you reach out to them... but you go right through them..." He said, getting wide eyed again. "Chrome? Ugh, he's in one of those phases again. It happens sometimes when he remembers things he doesn't like. Probably his parents' faces or something sentimental. Anyways, two days after he died his soul got randomly transferred. Whoop-dee-doo, happy birthday to me." She said, blowing some hair out of her face.

Mariam kept her attention on the ingredients she was cutting up at the time, while listening to Kei's comments."You'd be surprised what anyone does to make their cosplays to look very realistic. In fact, I remember a few people dressing up like wolves before and I practically freaked out, believing they were real wolves, until one of them told me they were just cosplaying."she lied, trying to keep her secret unknown. 'I really hope he doesn't try to poke any further on the matter...'the kitsune thought, not realizing that her ears twitched and her tail swished slightly out of her nervousness.

"Conjoined at the mind, heart, and soul" ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Lin listened intently as Llia and Chrome told their story. Hey eyes widening when Chrome began to talk about his death. When they had finished, she was at a loss for words. "..So," Lin finally said after a moment. "Let me get this straight, your soul, Chrome, is trapped in Llia's body?" the girl asked, understanding a bit more but still a little bit lost. She could relate, since although her and Kei had separate bodies, their souls were connected. If Kei died, then Lin would also die, and vice versa. But the idea of a dead person sharing a body with a living person was....strange, to say the least.
Kei bit into his rice cake, listening quietly as Mariam went on about her cosplay experience. "Is that so...." the boy said, his tone of voice showing that he was dubious of her. Kei was a telepath, but he didn't need his abilities to know that she was hiding something. Unlike Lin, he was very observant. Words were unnecessary when you could figure out a person through their body language, and when he noticed the slight twitch of her "cosplay", he knew he had her figured out. "Wooow, they move too.." the boy said, smirking. He was just playing dumb, of course.He was certainly no expert on cosplay, but unless there was some crazy technology involved, he was pretty sure that fake ears and a tail aren't supposed to respond to a person's emotions.

Chrome and LliaLlia nodded. "More or less..." Chrome said. "So, Lia. Can I ask you a question? Are you human?" "Sorry. She means that in the nicest way possible." "Shut up! I just meant... while we were coming here... it seemed like there were more people than us who weren't human..." "You don't have to answer that." Chrome said. It was quite obvious, from his facial expression, that he thought Llia was being rude.

Mariam forced herself to relax underneath Kei's stare. 'Got to stay calm...Just focus on cooking.'she thought, while continuing to prepare the ingredients in a precise way."It's really hard to forget about after seeing the amazing costume pieces people wore."the kitsune added, before putting everything into the sauce pan and started mixing all the ingredients together. She froze a little upon hearing the teen's second comment,'He saw them move...I forgot they moved depending on my mood. I'm sure I've been caught red handed this time.'the purple haired teen thought, while stirring the mixture a bit faster. "Of course they move, some cosplay pieces are made with motion sensors."she said, trying to keep herself from shaking nervously.

I asked you two a pretty personal question so it's only fair if you ask me one." she said to Chrome before answering Llia. "Yea, I'm human." she said aloud."Something like that..." she silently added in her mind. Although she had said it was ok for them to ask her questions, she hoped that they wouldn't ask too many. Kei would kill her (not literally of course) if she so much as hinted at their current situation. But still, Lin liked her new roommates. She wanted to be able to exchange stories of her life and family with them like normal people did. However, Lin and Kei were far from normal. Not that Chrome and Llia were very normal themselves, but she didn't know if she could trust them. Or anyone for that matter. Out of all of them, Mariam seemed to be the only "normal" one without any visible issues. According to Lin, that is.
This time Kei took a sip of his drink, eyes still focused on the girl as she cooked. He could practically feel the fear radiating from her as she explained herself. He could also understand it, why she was trying so hard to hide who she really was. His sister Lin and him had been doing just that for most of their life. The boy sighed, deciding that he would stop emotionally tormenting her. At least for now. He didn't know her story or her reasons for hiding, but it was her right. He wasn't going to question her. "Relax." the boy finally said after finishing his rice cake. "Your cosplay secret is safe with me, kitsune chan." he winked as he stood to throw his trash away, and without another word he ambled off down the hall.

Mariam bit her lip gently as she finished mixing the ingredients together in the medium sized pan.'...I need to keep focus on the food in front of me. Just don't worry about Kei possibly knowing about me...'she thought repeatedly, before turning down the heat on the stew. The purple haired kitsune listened to his advice and took in a small breath then opened the cupboard above the stove and grabbed a few spices to use in the stew. She was adding a little bit of pepper when she heard the teen's statement and nearly dropped the whole container into the mixture, but luckily caught it at the last moment."...Did Kei just call me, kitsune-chan? Wait, that means he really does know..."the teen muttered to herself quietly before finish adding the finishing touches to the meal then turning off the heat.

Mariam quickly set the table for everyone else, before heading back into the kitchen and slowly focused on making her kitsune appendages recede back into her body.'Got to hurry before anyone else sees my ears or tail.'the teen thought, while continuing to concentrate before making them recede completely. 'Glad that's over with now to let everyone know food's ready.'she thought, before walking out the kitchen. "There's some stew in the kitchen if any of you want anything to eat."the purple haired kitsune stated clearly.

Chrome and LliaChrome shrugged. "If you're worried about her then you can check on her." He said, and Llia scoffed. "If she's upset then she- "Probably has a reason." Chrome finished. There was a rolling of eyes, although you couldn't really tell who it was from. OOC: Short Post is Short... so was the last one...
