Vlad slept until he felt a threat and his eyes instantly opened. He wore only his pants and the bracelets that made him appear to be from this time his tattooed arm a reminder of his past. He made his way down to the pool eyes flashing dangerously as he approached the human that was speaking with Saloute. "I suggest you learn to keep better control of your vile thoughts James. If you dont they may find your body in an alley somewhere." He growled moving closer with deadly intent.

Jason stood put his hands in the air and backed away. "I am sorry your highness... I only wished to know more about your guest."

Vlad laughed atthe title and his excuse. "I have not been a prince of this land since I was human and your not very good at lying. Leave before I decide to take action against what you plan to do with my guest."

"Saloute you are free to swim when you want. Some men just don't know when to leave someone that they can't touch. Unless that is what you want of course. But I sensed you were in danger and I came." The male had done nothing wrong with swimming in the pool. "Your not the one at fault Sal. Why don't we head inside and you can ask me a few questions. I'm sure your wondering why the man called me a prince."

"Technically I still am a prince of this country, but the world has no need for a man that has seen the rise and fall of kingdoms and too many wars. You see when I was human I was born the heir of a small land surrounded by warlords that constantly fought and destroyed the land and lives of the people. When I was old enough I went to battle and started to conquer those very same lords uniting the lands into the country we have today. During that time I met someone I thought loved me but in truth they loved my younger brother who wanted the throne and all that I had created. They plotted behind my back and found a way to curse me turning me into a creature that must feed on the life blood of others to survive. I was cast out declared dead and entombed in a crypt as Ferdinand took the throne. He nearly destroyed the country until I had the strength to kill him and his lover. I am not proud of the deaths but I was angry couldn't control the lust for blood in those days. The castle became deserted and the crown passed on to a distant relative. Still the people knew I had returned as a monster." He had stopped before a painting of his family a once happy andlively Vlad behind a younger male their parents on either side of them. He turned away from it after looking at it for a moment or two. "Now the country has no need for king's or princes to rule them with the government. I am left to my own devices. Yes a few times villagers tried to kill me but it never happened in my loneliness I created more vampires and they created more. All vampires have a trace of my blood in them but most think I am either a legend or dead. None of the creatures alive today have ever met me I'm sure a few of the old ones want the title of being the father of all their kind but it is not so glamourous. It is a lonely life." He had said more then he had planned and turned from Sal abruptly.

"You haven't had a chance to eat yet, would you like breakfast?"

"I appear that way to you, but to the humans I am a monster to be feared or a way to gain immortality and power. A kind man wouldn't have to attack others just to stay alive." He said the last bit softly knowing nothing would change that. Sighing he dismissed the thoughts and smiled at Saloute. "This morning you shall get a taste of something they don't have in the ocean my beautiful pearl." He chuckled loving the blushing that occured whenever he said anything intimate around Sal. The male was just so cute and he would enjoy courting him.

When they were in the kitchen Vlad started to make pancakes and cut up some fresh fruit to add some sweetness to the meal. He also made eggs and ham as well as toast. He would give Sal water and juice so he could try the one. As the meal was cooking he picked up a strawberry and smiled. "Close your eyes and open your mouth."

As soon as his request was granted he put the ripe strawberry into Saloute's waiting mouth. "That is a strawberry. Very sweet and used for many different dishes."

"I wouldn't lie to you Saloute you can trust me and what I say." He loved the man before him already but could he bring himself to feel that love? He didn't know if it was worth the risk.

"Breakfast should be ready soon, though be careful it will be a bit hot." He said and a few minutes later he set a plate down before Saloute. "It is rather enjoyable to watch you experience these things for the first time. It never will grow old."

"If you continue to be so cute I won't be able to resist you for long Saloute. I am a patient man, but you are turning out to be irresistible to me." He smiled and lightly kissed the merman's cheek. "I want to show you what else humans do but your too innocent for that. Perhaps you will be ready eventually but your still blushing at my kisses." He chuckled and sat back letting Sal eat the rest of his meal.

"What would you like to do today? Since I am awake we might as well take this chance to do something fun."

"You are not a freak Saloute. Don't let anyone tell you any differently." He said placing a hand on the merman's cheek. "Yes there are attractive people out there but I don't want them, you are who I am interested in and I can wait until you are ready to be with me."

While they were talking Vlad cleaned up the mess from breakfast before putting his arms around Saloute and kissing his neck from behind. "Of course that won't stop me from trying to convince you to be ready sooner... I am only a man afterall."
