Tortali had stayed very quiet through all of this, not really wanting to get in the way of anyone, or even really meet anyone for that matter. She felt very left out, and wasn’t quite sure why she had come. Everyone seemed to know one another…Sheena was here though, that was nice. She was glad the cat was doing well…and even if everyone knew each other…that didn’t mean they didn’t want to include her.
She really had to stop being such a downer at times like this. Slowly, she moved over closer to the masses and watched the sparring demonstration, nodding as she did so. Well…that didn’t look so hard…in fact, it all looked quite easy. Simple…and they were all smiling…There was no real threat of any sort here.
All of these senshi, they were helpful, kind and caring…and that was good…especially with all of these younger kids around. What were they even doing? Kids shouldn’t be here. It was far too dangerous.
The green haired senshi sighed heavily, shrugging to herself. Who was she to judge, really. She had no right to decide if anyone should or should not be out and about…all she could do was wait to hear who she would be paired with. Then all she could do was work as hard as she could not to royally screw this up. The girl watched and waited, hoping that she didn’t make a huge fool of herself.

Maia turned with her brother at her side and smiled. "Alright everyone, I've figured out the groups. You'll be working in a pair against another pair. It will be five hits two win, at least two to each in a pair. So no pounding one person, please. The use of magic is just fine, but please refrain if your attack could possibly seriously injure or maim someone."
"Alright the first pair will be Squire Pharos paired with Chibi Syne and you will be sparring against Sailor Medea and Chibi Florentina." Maia took the time to point each person as she called them out so they wouldnt have trouble finding each other even though they had name tags on.
"Group two will be Squire Lassell paired with Sailor Sidouer and you will be sparring against Page Falias and Sailor Minkowski." She continued pointing as she called out everyone's names.
"Group three will be Squire Shangri-la paired with Sailor Tsui and you will be sparring against Squire Troy and Sailor Avior." How she seemed to get all the names so easily was just a thing she seems good at. Her recollection for even those she just met was very good and the name tags certainly helped, not that she was currently looking.
"The last group will be Sailor Ida and Page Pompeii and you will be sparring against Sailor Deneb and Sailor Tortali."
She moved back and motioned around, "There is plenty of room to spread out, but don't go to far as," she looked to Sheena and another cat she hadn't met before, "the cats are dampening our signatures and I do believe there is a limit to their range. Now everyone get in your groups and lets begin."
All your threads are up and your spar will be held in the thread created for your group. Everyone's been quoted in their own thread, but I will link here again so nothing get missed.
Sidouer stood near the back of the group of onlookers, watching as the demonstration unfolded. Prior to today she had only met one other senshi, Kallichore, though thinking about it, she had to admit she wasn't sure what the disheveled looking senshi's abilities were. To say she was curious what type of magic each participant possessed was a bit of an understatement.
As the training demo unfolded a pit of nervousness grew in her stomach, what had Julienne got her into? Aside from verbal spats with her brother, she wasn't much of a fighter. Yes he taught her a few moves here and there, back when he was interested in mixed martial arts but most were defensive such as: let them wear themselves out or use their momentum against them... but that was years ago.
Keeping her eyes on the fight, Sidouer started making a mental tally of different strategy or key points to the fight as she saw them. 'Stay near your partner, try to separate the other group, dodge...' Her eyebrows rose in slight shock when Ida used her Beautiful Petal Barrage 'Wow...' she thought 'now that was cool'. There was a brief moment of confusion when she heard Shangri-la say 'switch with me' though watching as Ida turned her attention to Lassell while he stiched to Maia answered whatever question came to mind.
At the conclusion of the demonstration, Sidouer couldn't help but shake her head, there is no way she could fight like that. Prior to today she had only used her attack a hand full of times and honestly she didn't really want to use it against anyone, let alone against a kid. A part of her wanted to go up to Maia and ask if she could just watch though she knew with the string of luck she has had thus far with those on the side of Chaos, participation in this training was unfortunately necessary.
Before she had an opportunity to bow out of the pairings she heard Maia announce her partner's name, Lassell. 'Too late now' she thought, 'please please don't let me may a fool of myself' she thought one final time before making her way over to the Squire.

Ida was beaming by the time she got back to her friends, even if her color was still a little high. Sparring was fun, with the right people, and you learned from it too.
Returning to Tsui and Florentina, she gave them both a big grin before the names were called off, effectively separating the three of them. Ida frowned, but it cleared quickly and she bent low to have a few words with Florentina and make sure she was going to be okay doing a spar type thing with the people she had been grouped with.
If she wasn't comfortable, there was going to be now way Ida was going to leave her by herself with people she didn't know.
With a little nod, Tortali moved over towards the group that Maia assigned her too, not really pleased that she didn’t know…well any of the names.
Though, that was just going to be something she had to deal with…right now, it was time to get down to business and get this sparring party started. She wanted to at least show off a little.

Pompeii watched the spar and practically itched to write down everything she saw. This was the first time she had actually seen an attack in a situation where she could observe without worrying about being attacked herself. What would it be like to know what each attack was and the best way to counter it? That would be something that she could share with her group but how could she remember it all and not put her team at risk. It was something to ask Maia about after the sparing because it was definitely something that would be extremely useful. There was only so much information that Pompeii could look up that was accurate and reliable... the rest she would have to find out for her self.
And it looked like she would get a front row seat to Ida's attack since Maia had paired her with the stronger senshi. Fighting with someone who could work magic made Pompeii's weapon pretty lame. She held up her ball of yarn and wondered briefly what she could do with it... or would it be best to fight without it?
Falias had moved closer to the main group when Maia called them over, glancing around the others as he did so. Aside from Lassell and Shangri-la there were a few other Knights there, but the rest of the others seemed to be senshi.
Along with Maia both Lassell and Shangri-la appeared to be involved in the upcoming demonstration, along with another senshi, Ida, who seemed vaguely familiar. As Maia spoke to the group, Falias settled himself so that he could have a good view of the four.
As the demonstration progressed, it became clear that all four were pretty experienced with Ida and Shangri-la in particular working well together and he wasn't particularly surprised that the pair were the overall winners.
Eventually the demonstration was over and Falias had an idea of what they would be doing this session. It actually seemed quite simple - work in pairs against another pair and he wondered who he'd be paired with. Hopefully whoever it was wouldn't expect him to be as good as the demo four had been - Falias knew he was nowhere near their level.
He didn't have to wonder long however as it didn't long for Maia to announce the lists. It seemed that he was being paired with a Sailor Minkowski and they were up against Lassell who was partnered with a Sailor Sidouer.
Then everyone was splitting, presumably to go find their partners. Falias went too, wondering which of the senshi around was Minkowski. He or she wasn't one that he'd come across before, at least he didn't think so - pretty sure that he'd have at least remembered the name. At least people were wearing name badges though - worse come to worse he could always scan name badges.
