Kuudere-senpai Paper crafts and drawings on and around my altar would so awesome. Although, I have yet to find anything to devote myself too~ some practise wouldn't be too bad. Maybe just random things to see what works and what doesn't. Heh. How Do I Pagain Without Gods? If you want a starting point/suggestions before looking for deities. Ivee Clover Morgandria Ivee Clover I found an etsy shop and thought these would be easy to make on a low budget. All you need is a shoe box(or a cheep wooden box from a craft store) a printer, some acrylic paint, and maybe some fake flowers/beads etc. Here are some examples from the SHOP. I however would not suggest buying from them as the prices are way too much. As an Etsy seller who has been told -outright- by some people they plan to copy my pieces because I 'charge too much', that is an absolutely INFURIATING attitude and utterly disrespectful. Apparently I'm supposed to be flattered. It's really just rude. I don't actually make money on my work, the majority of the time. We have to decide what covers our money spent traveling to get materials, the materials themselves, the amount of time and skill each piece takes, and then the packaging and shipping materials to keep those items safe and sound. Cheap out on any of it, and you've got an inferior product. The majority of artists and crafters can't charge effectively for our time and effort because of people like you who decide it isn't worth paying for and you'll just copy our designs, rather than support us as artists. If you'd said those pieces inspired you to design your own, in your own style, that wouldn't bother me nearly as much. But what you're suggesting is copying and ripping off another artist or crafter, because you're cheap. That's not acceptable. I never said copy. I said examples, implying you do your own thing but that there is a specific format for the particular work you are trying to create. It's like a teacher giving students an example of a format and the students making their own thing. Perhaps next time I will chose something else as an example that is not so offensive, like pictures of actual nichos. Also she said she had no spending money, I was only trying to help by giving her ideas, like I said she could use things that she might have at home. Not everyone has the money to support artists/crafters and that doesn't mean they should do with out. Besides, the crafter of the nichos of this shop drew from actual nichos and put their spin on them. That is more what I am suggesting the op do. I think it was the last sentence you said "I however would not suggest buying from them as the prices are way too much." I'm going to keep this as short as I can with being a crafter and a business major, cost of goods sold. Morg covered some of the major costs but there's also the cost of listing your items on some sites and advertisements if you pay for advertising. There are so many behind the scenes reasons why people charge what they do in any type of business.

Oh, I just meant lyke random anime characters. Or my own OCs I use for RP as inspiration for practise paper crafts! I so want coloured construction paper now. Haha. Use to LOVE cutting odds and ends and putting the pieces together to make a pokemon. I'm a dork, and did it for my sons because they loved pokemon for a time! And I didn't have anything else to dobeing at home 24/7~ so it was both fun to make and fun to play with. They didn't last very long though. xD Maybe using bristol board or cardboard for backing would be best. Hmm~ Practice, practice.

There are so many behind the scenes reasons why people charge what they do in any type of business. I understand the cost of getting together supplies, time put into a piece, shipping/handling costs, and listing costs, as I've sold large pieces online before and barely broke even on the piece or actually ended up owing money. And am sorry for being rude and saying that I do not suggest she buy the works though. I should have left that to the op's judgment. I also should have been more clear on the pieces being examples for her to draw inspiration from and used nicho pictures of traditional pieces instead of ones in shops, as I do see where she is coming from and am sorry for giving the wrong impression of stealing/copying. I am sadly too short in speaking and assume people to be on the same wave length as I am and do not always realize that my words can be misinterpreted in a negative way. Miss Morgandria however did not have to be condescending and rude to me in addressing my mistake. Something I've learned on the web not to long ago is to not assume things about another poster before you reply to them and to think everything out before replying less you let your personal feelings and past experiences dictate how you reply. Ironically, I am unintentionally guilty of not thinking out my original post as it was misinterpreted. sweatdrop

It was not my intention to be condescending or rude. I often come across as such when it is not my intent to be so. If I misinterpreted your words, I apologize. If it helps you understand my position: I am a self-supporting jewelry artist. I don't have any other income. And I have had, over the 12 years I have been supporting myself in this manner, many people comment exactly as you did right to my face. That they would copy, imitate, but not buy. Some of those people went on to sell their copies for less money. Then not only do people get confused as to what's the original and what's not, they don't want to pay more, even if the original's better quality. Right now, I am not in a state where the loss of a sale or two is a big deal. A few years ago, it was something I could not afford. And there are many artists who live hand to mouth on their works. If we want beautiful things to exist in the world, unique and powerful objects spanning the gamut of styles and uses, we need to support the people who make them. Otherwise they vanish.

First, apology accepted. emotion_bigheart Second, I am southern raised I put miss/mr when I feel award about using someones name, I don't mean it as an insult. I was trying to be polite and show respect by addressing you in this way. I'm sorry that this came across the wrong way and will not address you in such a way again. I can't be sorry for others making and selling cheep copies of your work, because I can not be sorry for what other people do as I am not them. All I can say is that it isn't fair and I won't use peoples stores for examples of things again so as to avoid possible encouragement of plagiarism. Also I am a painter and know your position well. I have had losses selling online too. I know where you are coming from. Also I have no job and am in college full time and more, so money is extremely tight. Please stop lecturing me. As I said earlier it was not my intention to incite plagiarism, only to encourage inspiration for someone on a budget. I am sorry for all miss communications on my part. I am not trying to pick a fight, I want us to be cool please.

I'm in Canada, which is probably too far North for most people. sweatdrop I've been to the American South before, and I still react the same way when people call me 'Miss' - I've never managed to get used to it, even though I know they're just being polite inside their societal norms. I find it weird and formal and somehow overfamiliar, which doesn't make sense but there you go. cat_xp Quote: I am sorry for all miscommunications on my part. I am not trying to pick a fight, I want us to be cool please. There's no fight going on here. Just an disagreement and misalignment of perspectives. As I said, I don't read well on the internet - people perpetually miss my tone and intent. I'm not angry, although I can see where people might assume so. We're good.

I live in a community that's small like that. Since I don't have a job, I can't order anything online. To be honest, I really want to start my own pagan shop. I'm in college for business management so I can do just that.
