This was getting dangerous. Had it just been Hanna that was flagging Cami might have kept going until forcing the other girl to wave a white flag. No, wait, scratch that. In a world where she was what Kidana wanted her to be that was what would have happened. It didn't take the arrow thudding into Hanna's thigh, rather than her chest again, to prove that there was a problem.
There were two Hanna's at the moment. That was the problem.
Leaning heavily on her bow to the point that the specter inside was deeply protesting the level of weight, Milly tried to breathe in and out. Slowly. "Look, I hate to be the loser that cries uncle first, but uncle. Seriously. I will call all of my uncles if we can just sit down." Really she wasn't ashamed of not going in for the kill. She would have been ashamed if one of them had fallen on their faces with dehydration and exhaustion. What good did that do anyone?
Still in good humor, however, she grinned. "Unless you wanna slap-fight like a pair of sissies. We can probably manage a halfhearted one by this point."

Another sharp pain radiated through Hanna. Okay, fear shield or not, she was in trouble. Her muscles ached with all the phantom cuts and scrapes, and she was absolutely certain a rainbow of bruises was forming under her clothes. If it weren't for her expedited healing thanks to Adelphe, she would be in even worse trouble. This... wasn't going to end well for her.
When Cami began to lean on her bow, Hanna took it as a sign of impending attack and half-heartedly lofted her weapon once more, determined not to be the one to quit. And... she wasn't? Whoa, thank whatever powers existed, Cami actually backed off! Which was great, because it was clear to both girls that, even though they were both in bad shape, Hanna was worse. She could mentally dress up and excuse it however she wanted, but the trainee had lost this fight.
Ouch, my pride.
The Lady was silent in Hanna's mind, but it was a seething silence that foreshadowed a tongue-lashing/headache double whammy that was surely on the horizon once they were alone again. "No, I'm dying," Hanna admitted. She stabbed the Lady into the ground and leaned against the twin blade. "I need water and food desperately, but if I sit down here in the grass, I am pretty sure I will never get up. Those arrows hurt like a b***h, fear shield or not. Want to hit up the cafeteria?"
Hanna had already begun walking but kept her eyes on Cami, as if even lingering here meant passing out. (Maybe it did.) Her weapon flashed and then quickly disappeared back into totem form. Hanna tucked the earrings away into her pocket, too tired to lift her arms to physically put them on.
Okay, so Hanna had lost, which sucked. But... Cami was pretty cool. She summoned a call for sparring via Twitter and then was kind enough to end the fight before Hanna pushed herself beyond the point of exhaustion. Besides...
THERE WAS ALWAYS NEXT TIME. >_>
