Carmen stopped as the phone started ringing. It rang several times before she suddenly lowered it and pressed the 'end call' button. A strange feeling had suddenly overcome her. She felt calm, as if nothing were wrong. What was this? Somehow deep down she knew this was wrong but she wasn't sure why. Maybe everything was going to be okay? She looked back at Melani. "Um...are you feeling any better?" She asked hesitantly.

Should I interpret the reaction as a madness veil?
The stained soul would turn into a brighter pink color rather than the crimson color, emiting a soothing aura around the meister. -❝ ...why couldn't I save you? ❞- While Melanie lamented her loss and her soul sinked into madness, the meister would be drifted away from the main menace, instead observing Melanie completely calm, just a little tired. -❝ Sure, maybe a little better...I'm... I'm just tired. Too much nature for me... So quiet. I'm actually surprised I didn't fell asleep already. ❞-
Carmen would start witnessing another reallity in which Melanie was friendlier. Not super friendly, to the point to make it obious as a trap. The stained soul was taking Carmen with smooth stimulations to lead her on within that fake tranquility, attempting to make Carmen bring Melanie back into the clinic.
Carmen gave Melanie a soft smile. "Well that's good," she replied, relaxing a little. It seemed Melanie was coming back to her senses. Perhaps it was just a fit of grief? "If you're feeling better maybe it would be good to get some rest?" She walked towards Melanie, feeling relieved. "How about we take you back to your room and you get some sleep? Maybe you'll be able to figure out what's causing you to feel this way?"

Lead to the clinic, Melanie would greet and chat with Carmen just for a little while, the redhead appeared to be tired. Finally falling asleep it would bring Carmen some comfort and peace in mind to leave her be.
The next morning however, someone would knock the door of her apartment early. It was a whole squad. They had order to aprehend Carmen... Aparently, yesterday she murdered the entire personel of the clinic.
Carmen opened her eyes in the bedroom of her apartment as she heard a knock on the door. She glanced over at the clock. It was early in the morning. Waaay to early. She mentally went over her schedule. She didn't have any classes at this time today and she wasn't scheduled to be on call at the Special Arena today either. "Ugghgghgh...." she moaned as she heard the knock a second time. This time it was more insistent. She slowly forced herself out of bed and threw on some clothes before heading to the bathroom, taking a few minutes to freshen up as the knock came a third time. "Coming! Coming!" She called, a trace of annoyance in her voice as she finished up. It wasn't Ariel or else she would have texted first. Who could it be? She walked up to the door and peeked out the window. Her expression quickly became one of concern as she saw it was a full squad of the DWMA's internal police force. Had something happened? She quickly unlocked and opened the door. "What's going on...?" She asked worriedly.

As the blonde answered the door, the Squad would not loose any time and surround the meister. "Carmen Laurel, by Lord death's Orders you are under arrest for the assassination of the entire Haven Clinic. We insist you follow us peacefully to make this as easy as possible. We do not want any more deaths." Stated the Squad Leader, she could see them, every last one of them was ready to go all out on her. After all they knew who she was, and that she was no easy pie.
Carmen was shocked into silence for several moments as the squad surrounded her. "A-assassination!?" She asked. How was that possible? This had to be some kind of mistake! She didn't kill anyone! That's it....this had to be some kind of misunderstanding. Maybe it was someone who had looked like her and they were just being careful. Yeah, that had to be it. "O-okay..." she said quietly, putting her hands up in surrender.

╔═════════╗ --❝ Melani ❞- ╚═════════╝ With Carmen peaceful rendition, she was taken back to DMWA where she was asignated a cell in the dungeons. With Cynthia out on a mission, there was no way someone could lend Carmen a hand with this mess.
However, during the interrogation, they told Carmen she had the right to see 1 person. So she might had to choose wisely.
Just like Chrona, she was given a room for her own in which she would not be able to leave without an order andan escort.
On the Meantime, on the Nursery, Nurse Mortem would be getting the news of Carmen's arrest. The Video on the Surveilance camera shows a blonde girl taking down the clinic personal without mercy, kicks, punches and jabs. Dealing fatal wounds, the only one known to be around the facility that day was Carmen and as such she was confined there. Not Even Nurse Mortem was aware of Melanie's internship on that clinic or about her suicidal attempt. Everything was just too soon for the Nurse as well.
Next to Carmen, there was an Elite for every of her corners. All of them ready to attempt a fatal blow on her. Escorted to one of Death's inner cells, similar to those they used to store Eruka and Chrona, Carmen awaited while handcuffed to a chair while one of the specialist would reach the room and sit on the other side of the table while the nurse made up her mind. Sipping from his cup of coffee, the specialist would turn his eyes back at the girl. "So, Carmen, how are you feeling today?"
Carmen sat silently in the cell-room, staring at the ground and not saying a word. She was confused and frightened. She didn't look up at the interrogator as he asked her how she was feeling. She didn't respond for a long moment. "Terrible," was all she could say dejectedly. She knew she couldn't reach her parents since they were far away and rarely answered their phones anyway. She paused before she asked for her call to be placed. "Nurse Mortem," she added quietly. It was the only person she could count on at the moment.
Meanwhile, Nurse Mortem was working from home when she got wind of what had happened. The administration forwarded her the surveillance tapes. She had just finished watching them in horror when the phone rang. She hesitated for a moment when she saw it was Carmen but then quickly picked it up. "Hello?" She asked quietly. "Nurse Mortem! You have to help me! I'm being held in prison for something I didn't do!" Nurse Mortem frowned slightly as she listened. "Carmen, they have you....on tape....killing people.""I didn't do it! I was set up or something! Can you please come down here??" Nurse Mortem thought for a moment. It just didn't make sense that Carmen would do something like that. Maybe there was more to this than met the eye? "Okay....I'll come right now," Nurse Mortem replied before hanging up. As soon as she did she grabbed her coat and walked out the door, heading towards the prison.
Carmen waited patiently for Nurse Mortem to arrive as she waited for the interrogator's response.

The Interrogator smiled gently towards the blonde girl, after all it was all part of the good cop bad cop charade. "Well I know there must be some hard things to asimilate but we would like to hear your side of the story. You already made your call, didn't you, how about..." Said the interrogator while some of the special forces brought a TV screen, which started showing up the video of Carmen killing the personal of the clinic mercilessly. "... you tell us your version of the story. At least while Nurse Mortem gets here. Honestly, there's not much we can do to help you unless you tell us exactly what happened inside. More over..." Said the interrogator as he showed her a picture of Melanie. "Why did you murdered the intern on that clinic? What was your purpose? Did she represented a threat? Was she a dangerous enemy?"
Asked the interrogator, as it appeared, not only Carmen had assassinated the personal of the clinic but also had taken Melanie's life as well.
Yet, there was a little detail. They only showed a public picture of her. Not a picture of the corpse. Usually you had to back up your statements. But, would Carmen notice that detail?
Sitting by his chair, the interrogator sipped from his coffee.
"Tell us Carmen, have you felt... strange on this last days?"
Carmen watched the video the investigator showed her, her eyes widening in horror. "No....I...I didn't do that! There's no way I would ever do something like that!" She looked back at the Investigator, almost panicking. "My....version? I was with Melanie after she recovered in the hospital! We went outside and talked for a bit and then I walked her back to her room and then....I um...." she paused, realizing her memories after that were blurry. "I didn't kill her! I saved her life from the Gigantos!" She hadn't realized that they hadn't shown her a picture of the corpse. Even if they had one she probably wouldn't want to see it. "I haven't felt strange at all! I mean....I felt a little weird after talking with Melanie but there were a lot of emotions and stuff going around at the time so that would make sense. But I don't....I would never do something like this!"

"Well Carmen, there seems to be a problem with your side of the story. The lack of details or sustained evidence makes it hard for us to believe you. After we got the surveillance cameras filming you as you bath the halls with blood. Look we all here estimate you and your family and that's why we are giving you this chance. Tell us why did you do this?"
With the poor girl under pressure, the interrogator kept asking her, it was rude but it was his job to get a confession out from her lips so that they may dispose of her properly. After all she was far too dangerous to let roam. Perhaps she might had to undergo the same treatment as Eris.
The troubled Teenager would gaze upon the window, only to see Melanie staring at her, smiling deviously behind an innocent smirk while she was inside the interrogation room.
Breathing onto the glass, she giggled behind it, drawing a heart, big enough to contain the word murderer inside it. After that, the redhead would place her lips upon the glass and soon after send a flying kiss flying towards her.
Should either Nurse Mortem or the interrogator turn on said direction, no one would be able to see or hear Melanie at all.
Carmen frowned in frustration as she heard the interrogator continue to press her for a confession. "I really don't remember anything! Maybe I was under some kind of spell or something? Wouldn't that make more sense? Especially considering I've never gotten in trouble with the law!" She was distracted when she glanced at the window to see Melanie smiling at her. Wait a minute...hadn't the interrogator just say she was dead?? What was going on? She watched Melanie giggle and draw her picture in the window. Carmen was too shocked to be angry at the moment. "Wait, that's Melanie!" She cried, quickly jumping to her feet. "She can't be dead, she's right there!" Several moments later the interrogation room door opened and a new figure stepped in. Nurse Mortem turned to face the interrogator and Carmen. "Nurse Mortem!" Carmen said in an excited and relieved tone. Nurse Mortem didn't reply. "Well..." she began, looking ragged and worn down. It wasn't a lack of sleep or long-term stress; it was the story she had just been told about what Carmen had done. She moved a strand of hair out of her eyes as she walked towards the table where the two were sitting. "I tried reaching your parents but I couldn't get in contact with them," Nurse Mortem told Carmen calmly. "Lord Death is away on business at the moment and Ariel is on a mission." Carmen calmed down and nodded slowly. She wasn't surprised in the slightest that she was unable to contact her family; it had often been that way. Nurse Mortem looked at the interrogator as Carmen slowly sat down again. "So, what's next?" She asked.

And now, the mistery begins. Let's see if you can solve it before Carmen or Nurse Mortem does. I'm pretty sure Scarlet would solve it faster. She has a keen eye for this. BTW not telling you to jump scarlet in, I was just stating that should she be present she would figure it out eventually, but definitely faster than Mortem or Carmen.
"We are actually following that approach. Mrs's Laurell, as we know you aren't one to suddenly jump and maim people. Out of the Arena of course. We believe you've been infected with some sort of madness... or a spell, as you stated previously. Which is why we are forcing you to remember as much as you can. We are trying to figure how-"
The interrogator was suddenly interrupted when Carmen jumped on her feet and claimed Melanie was on the other side of the window. Turning quickly over his shoulder, the interrogator saw nothing, despite Melanie kept giggling and kissing the window for Carmen's delirious torment. Even more, they could see Miss Mortem passing by the location Carmen could see Melanie and the nurse didn't even react.
"I can't see anything Carmen. And even if it were it can't be Melanie..."
The interrogator was explaining as Nurse Mortem stepped into the room.
"And that is because you beheaded her Carmen..."
Stated the interrogator just as the nurse got into the room.
"While we haven't found the head, we already have the body in our morgue. Now I want you to tell me from start how did this happened. And don't skip any details. We need to know who's the one who brainwashed you into ... this..."
Said the interrogator while the nurse proceeded to tell Carmen the lack of success trying to contact her family or even Ariel. The news from the interrogator were devastating but the look on his face didn't seem like he was making that up.
Turning over at the Nurse, the interrogator went silent for a moment. Before he finally spoke. "Just so that Carmen can be sure, I would like to ask you to confirm Melanie's body for us. For some reason she believes she's still here, and alive while none of us had seen her out of the morgue. Pardon my ignorance if I'm not a doctor but I've yet to meet a person that can live without it's head."
