That, Nuri could relate to. Scheduling and finding the time. As a soldier, he was forced to work many hours on his days on, often traveling to the outskirts of the lands over the week. It was rare he found time himself to spend on his own - the days he had off were spent training his newest familiar and attempting to learn the best way to take advantage of the Radaku's own strengths.
It was rare he had more than a few hours on his own.
As they walked up to her room, Nuri kept silent in thought, still sparing a few glances at the place as they went. He noticed how the setting changed slightly, but it still was quite bland compared to where the customers were taken. It seemed as if all extravagances were saved for exterior rooms, and the girls lived in simple, small housing.
When they finally made it to her room, Nuri followed Aseara inside and let his gaze sweep the area in silence. It was bare, with simple essentials and nothing else. It seemed almost military like, as if it was only used for sleep and occasional work. It was clear that Aseara spent her time in the other locations than in her room - that or she was just good at cleaning after herself.
"Wow" He responded softly to her words, before his eyes caught sight of the cloak. He moved closer to examine it, the first real item with a bit of personality, and turned back, "...Is this from home?"

“It’s not much, but it is home to me.” Aseara looked around the bare room a little sheepishly and wondered what Nuri’s home looked like. He was a noble and she imagined it was quite marvellous and grand. She moved to his side by the cloak and gently laid a hand on it. “It’s the only thing I keep from back home.” And probably the only thing she would ever keep for the rest of her life. She didn’t plan on leaving Oba for a little while, or ever returning to her home land.
“I’ll show you to the gardens before you leave. There isn’t really anything else interesting to see.” And with that she exited the room, waiting for Nuri to do the same before she slid the door closed once again. She wrapped her arm around his and led him down the building and then outside into the private garden. It was clearly unkempt with overgrown trees and bushes and dead grass that was tall. It didn’t look like it had been touched in a while. Aseara released Nuri’s arm and took him by the hand to pull him along the side of the building and then along the fence.
“No one is allowed into Afsana’s private gardens,” she murmured quietly. “It’s where she brings the best clients only.” They were soon out of sight and deep into the garden now, Aseara made it to the end and turned towards the wall. “But she doesn’t know we can go in whenever.” She smiled and pushed on some of the planks that came apart and revealed a very different garden. This one green and lush that was well kept by small rivers that circulated through the garden. Aseara went in, lowering herself so she could see if anyone was around and then crept along the fence.
“There’s a hidden pagoda at the end. Secluded but it has the best view on the pond.” It didn’t take long to reach it. Aseara grabbed the railing and pulled herself on top and over it. She peeked at Nuri from above the railing and smiled at him. “Come on.” She was gone again to sit on the ledge while removing her shoes so she could sink them into the water.

He didn't touch the cloak, but he watched as she did with silence. It was clear that there was more to it than she led on, but he wasn't certain if it was the right time to ask. It almost reminded him of the unspoken distance that still was between them. Between his past and her own, there just was an unspoken silence that felt like it would never be overcome. It was a reminder of who they currently were.
Shifting away from the desk, he followed her out of the room and held out his hand once more. He was silent until they made it to the gardens, and when she dropped his arm he was surprised when she took his hand. It was clear as the dark blush that brushed across his cheeks.
Thankfully, it seemed she was somewhat distracted with leading. Or so he hoped. When they made it to the secret entrance, he raised a brow and smirked, "You continue to surprise me." He kept his voice down as they moved against the fence.
As he followed her over the railing, he stood above while she sat on the edge.
"How often do you sneak in here?"

Aseara finally dipped her feet into the water and leaned back on her arms, she let her head roll back to look at him.
“Why don’t you sit for a bit? Just relax.” She chuckled softly. Then on a more serious tone she added. “Whenever I have free time and want a quiet space to think. I usually come here when I’m practicing a new dance.” She hadn’t done that in a while since she’d been giving all the managerial duties and it felt good to just sit and relax and breathe after such hectic days. She wondered if Nuri relaxed a lot considering he was a soldier.
Granted Aseara hadn’t relaxed in a while, but she was getting used to her new hectic schedule. She… Liked managing, but didn’t like managing the way Afsana wanted her too. She did not want the other girls to fear her, didn’t want the others to say horrible things behind her back when she wasn’t listening or watching. Aseara believed it wasn’t the way to run things, if this place was hers… She certainly wouldn’t be running it the way Afsana was doing so now. Alas, it was not her own and owning such a place was only a far away dream.

There was a long moment of silence before he stepped forward and settled down to her side, his hands moving to pull of his sturdy boots and setting them aside. He didn't need to pull up his pants any more as he leaned his longer legs down to the waters. The cool liquid soothed his worn feet, and he leaned his arms on his knees to look over them and into the water.
When he finally took the moment to look down at himself, he turned his head back to his companion, "That large dance you are planning...how is it going?"
His voice was soft, picking up the conversation they were having before he announced he was leaving, "Do you know when it might be ready? I might try and make sure I'm in town to watch."

The planning for the dance had come to a crawl; it was hard to find time to get it down. Aseara sighed softly, annoyed at her duties but still not regretting taking the new temporary position.
“I don’t think it will get done before Afsana returns so it will definitely be a few months. I’m not sure how long she plans on being gone for. Probably long enough to find new talent and return just as quick.” And if that was the case, perhaps Nuri could see it! “Maybe you’ll be back. If I find a way to message you I can give you some details on how it goes.”
Removing her feet from the water, Aseara let them dry. “I don’t want to hold too much of your time. We should get going.” The Wind girl pulled herself up and offered Nuri her hand to help him up and a grin.

"It will be another reason to keep in touch..." He responded slowly, straightening his back and letting his mind wander. There really wasn't much to his thoughts, and he found himself relaxed and content with the silence between them as well as the discussion. Maybe it was his way of savoring their last true moments together before they had to part yet again.
As Aseara spoke, he made to stand as well with her assistance, shaking his feet lightly over the water and placing his boots on without care of his still damp soles.
"It really isn't a bother. I'm sure you are more busy these days than I am. Walk with me to the door?"
His request was hesitant, as if he worried she might be unable to do so. He still felt a bit worried of their time spent together, but he also refused to waste any of these last moments.

“Yes it will be.” Not that Aseara felt they needed any more reason to keep in touch. Any reason, even if it was a small one, was good enough for her. “And of course I’ll walk you back.” She didn’t think he could make it back by himself anyways, he wasn’t allowed to be in the back rooms without being escorted least someone ask him what he was doing there and report him to Afsana. That wouldn’t go well for either of them since many had already seen them together through the halls. People liked Aseara, but they were far more afraid of Afsana.
Aseara went over the side of the railing again, jumping down into the grass and making her way back through the hidden opening in the gate and back into the Red Amaryllis’s. Far too quickly for her taste were they back at the front door where the clients entered from. It was empty at this time, far too early for anyone to be here and welcome the late night guest. Aseara paused at the door, sighing softly before she turned to Nuri.
“Well this is it.” She said softly, bringing her hands together and clamping them shut in front of her to stop herself from grabbing onto him and ever letting go. She had to trust he would return to her, but it was easier said than done.

He followed her slowly and silently, his mind thinking over what was about to happen. They would say their farewells, and most likely not see each other for a long while. It would be another extended distance, another time apart. There was no certainty for the future, for how soon or how long it might be until there is an 'again'. His mood became somber as they went, and he began to doubt his journey for a long moment.
But he knew he had to do this. To establish himself in the army, and to secure himself and his safety. The trip was hard, but it was something he wanted and needed to do to continue to move up. To protect his country...and to protect every single person within it. Sometimes sacrifices needed to be made, despite how much he loathed them.
As they entered the silent room, he paused close to Aseara, picking up on the tension and her own desire to extend their goodbye. His eyes caught the movement of her hands, and he took it as a nervous action for what was about to happen. He cleared his throat.
"This is it..." his echo was weak, and he felt a bit foolish for it. Instead of dwelling, he took a long last moment to look her over from head to toe, an attempt to help him remember her in the months ahead. Taking a chance, he reached out to brush his fingers over her own hands, his eyes darting around to ensure no one was lurking about before grasping them fully.
"I wont forget you Aseara...I'll always be thinking of you. I will write, and even if I don't always hear back from you, I will make sure to write to you whenever I can. I promise." It would be difficult, but maybe he could find one of those war-birds...one he could train to find him wherever he went. Maybe he could really make it work.
After a pause, one of his hands lifted to brush one of her long curls back behind her ear, "I wont ask you to wait for me, I don't deserve it. But I hope you will think of me when you have the time..."
With that, he leaned forward slowly and brushed his lips on her cheek, his hand falling back to her own as he leaned back and gauged her reaction. He shouldn't linger, but he couldn't resist.

There was nothing Aseara hated more than goodbyes and a goodbye from Nuri was the worst yet. She couldn`t even look him in the eye anymore because if she did, she was acknowledging that he was leaving and a small part of her still wanted to hold on to him. She knew she was going to have to look at him at some point again, just one last time so she could hold on to the memory until he returned. Aseara had to remind herself that it wasn`t goodbye forever, it was temporary and she would be stronger for it when he came back.
She let him take her hands; Aseara also glanced around to make sure no one was looking. A habit she`d picked up since Nuri and her had gotten so close. She wished… She wished she didn`t have to hide like this. She wished she could talk to the other girls about Nuri, share with them and have them share their own experiences. If only Afsana wasn`t so hard, Aseara was sure the girls could handle themselves if they really tried and knew there wouldn`t be consequences… Things would be different while Afsana was gone and Aseara was in power, she would make sure of it.
“I’ll find a way for our letters.” She didn’t know how yet, but if that meant going to the palace to make it happen she’d do it. She’d find another way if they refused her. In the worst of cases, she kept all of her letters and gave them to him when he returned.
The wind girl leaned into his touch when he brushed her hair back, she didn’t know what to say. He didn’t have to ask her or even say anything, she would wait for him. She couldn’t see herself with anyone else, much less finding the time to move on if Nuri didn’t come back. Not now at least.
The kiss came as a surprise and Aseara found herself turning and bumping her nose against his. He was so close, so close. She closed the distance between them, she wanted a proper kiss from him before he left and she gently as if afraid, laid a kiss on his lips but didn’t move away. She stayed close, unclasping her hands and letting one of them run up his chest to wrap around his neck. Perhaps it was a little selfish of her to tangle herself on him like this and demand a kiss, but it might be the only time she could do such a thing.

As he pulled back, Nuri felt their noses brush when Aseara turned. He took that moment to look into her eyes, eyes that were so different than the Obans around him. He would probably find similar eyes on his travels, but he hoped that they wouldn't compare to her own. His time in Sauti would be quite the trial compared to any other location, especially considering most Wind Earthlings seemed to share similar coloring to her own.
His thought was broken as her lips touched his own, his eyes widening in surprise for a long moment before he felt her hand brush his neck. That touch spurred him to move his hands away from her hands and to her cheeks. Gently, he held her close, his eyes falling shut as he took in the moment without any regrets. Time felt as if it was standing still, and he was just selfish enough to want it to last forever.
His selfishness was what encouraged him to hold the kiss, letting Aseara be the one to initiate the break, or possibly some onlooker, whatever came first.

This was probably a moment she would keep and cherish forever; she didn’t want it to end. Didn’t want to be the one to end it or even Nuri. She wanted someone to catch them so she didn’t have to end it and she could blame it on them. Aseara knew however, that there would be no one here right now to catch them. After a few more moments, she finally did break the kiss and open her eyes. She had to let him go so he could come back and he would come back. Taking a deep breath, Aseara stepped back a little to give them a breather.
“I will miss you.” She said softly. “I… I don’t want to hold you back.” There, that was her goodbye as hard as it was to say.

As she pulled away, Nuri let his fingers fall from her cheeks. He stepped back as well, understanding that any additional contact would only make the parting that much more painful. He kept silent as she spoke, just looking at her for another long moment.
"I will write to you." It was all he could say, but he meant it. As he stepped back, he took one last look at Aseara, took a breath, and turned to walk out the door.
The sooner he left, the sooner he would be back again...and based on what happened, he had a lot to look forward to.
