Name Ideas Hex
Personality Ideas -
Hex, as a foal, is a bit like her name indicates, a bit of a hex on the herd. She questions everything, gets into all sorts of trouble and seems to toe the line between acceptable and heretic at times. It’s as if whatever changeling got ahold of her really dug deep with this one and pulled out all the stops. She is extremely obstinate and hard headed, with little regard to the boundaries set before her. Yet, somehow she seems to always stay just on this side of the line she shouldn’t be crossing. Apologizing when she needs to and cuddling up to her parents at times, almost manipulative if not for how sincere she really seems at the time. There is a point her in childhood where she becomes subdued, or as subdued as Hex has ever been, and spends much of her time either under her mother’s feet or under her father’s feet. She becomes almost clingy and trigger shy. I’ll elaborate upon this in her plots.

As she ages though, there is a very noticeable shift, both in her appearance (I’m assuming here! Will rework if not) and her attitude. Most are unsure of what caused such a change, but are glad for it regardless. Hex becomes a bit of a shining star. She is dedicated to the teachings, rules, and beliefs of her herd. She becomes very in tune with the herd, becoming a bit of a peace maker, an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. Hex throws herself into her studies, doing her best to better herself for the betterment of the herd. She looks for herbs, pleads with her father to learn self defense, and communes with the gods daily. She spends an ample amount of time in prayer and becomes one that is truly devout. Yet, there are times she still questions, though only to her closest confidant and never in public. These times usually arise when a dream creature comes calling; she has a hard time fully accepting that they aren’t real. Especially when one speaks with her about their problems, she is seen, perhaps, as a bit soft where dream creatures are concerned. There are points when she spends almost too much time speaking with them. Hex also has a very real and secret desire to travel beyond the veil; she feels that if maybe she explored the dream realm a bit more she’d understand it a bit better.

Plot Ideas

General Trouble - (Filly Plot) This is more an overreaching sort of plot idea? I’d like multiple rps where she gets into mischief and trouble, either with her sisters or without. Maybe gets them into trouble with her.

You shouldn’t be here! - (Filly Plot) Caught, as a filly, out in the wilderness where she shouldn’t be. She has a bit of a temper tantrum and a throw down with whoever it was that found her. This can turn into something major, or something minor, depending on all who are involved. It’d be nice if this was taken as a chance for a lesson where she’s properly informed about nightmares and just how vicious they can be. She won’t listen, but still.

Nightmares are DANGEROUS! - (MAJOR PLOT) Once again, Hex is where she shouldn’t be, and this time it’s more than a little worrisome. There is a nightmare rampant and looking for a tender little morsel. Hex is caught and held captive for some time. (Undetermined) She’s almost certain this will be the end of her, and that fire she had seems to tamper down. She’s never been in a situation like this before, one that was truly dangerous where her life was in real peril. She is rescued however, though she doesn’t seem all that grateful. This shifts her into a quieter phase where she seems more inclined to listen… sort of. Hex seems to almost become distant and lost.

Stay in your forest little filly. - (MAJOR PLOT! This occurs as a young adult, thing... teenager kinda?) Hex is out; she has become listless and despondent since the capture and her subsequent rescue. Most of her time is spent under her father or mother, depending on what each is doing at the time. Today both her parents are busy and she is left to her own devices so she wanders, not far, or so she thinks. Her thoughts are clouded and her spirits are dark; unaware, she runs into a dream creature. At first she is frightened and turns to run for help, but there is no malice in his eyes. If anything, they just seem sad, and it is then she realizes that this stallion is injured. Unsure of what to do, she asks if she can help and he directs her on the proper procedures. She feels a sort of kinship to this dream creature; the same sadness that hangs over her head hangs over his. He is kind to her, listens to her, is patient despite the pain he must be feeling; while most dream creatures seem, at best, dismissive of her herds belief system, he seems interested. He encourages her to believe, in something bigger than herself, in her herd, her family. He tells her stories of the dream realm, some good, most not so. Over time he heals with her help, and before he leaves he tells her to stay, stay in her forest where she is mostly safe from the outside world. To remember that she is one of the few chosen to be real, right? She should be thankful and use her gift to help others. He leaves her with a gift and departs. (This may span over a couple of rps, considering, and i’d really love some refinement for it. Since I’m not 110% sure how the herd would react, if the herd would even find him or care. I MIGHT fill the mystery stallion with an OC of mine or I might leave it open, haven’t decided yet. Ideally, I think I’d like as few people in the herd to know about him as possible. Just to add some mystery to her sudden turn around.)

Teach me - (Young Adult) Hex pleads with her father to teach her self defense, though she doesn’t seem intent upon joining the champions. Depending on if he does or not, she might seek out someone else to teach her.

Healing - (Young Adult) Hex uses the knowledge she gained from the strange stallion to heal someone. It’s an unusual sort of method that isn’t often practiced within the herd. It comes under speculation, but in the end it works well. This will likely be a champion or some such, I haven’t really decided yet. Nor have I really hashed out the details.

Dreaming of Adoption - (Adult) Hex adopts a basket/foal that wanders into the area and is unclaimed. She takes responsibility for praying it into existence. She becomes extremely protective of the foal/filly and insists upon teaching it herself. The foal thrives, but perhaps Hex is a little too overprotective in places she shouldn’t be and too lenient in others. Could lead to some other interesting plots!

Please Don’t Tell - (Major Plot - Adult) Hex is gravely injured while out, either collecting herbs or patrolling, or something. (Since I haven’t decided what position I really want for her.) She’s injured because she was reckless, rushing into a situation (haven’t decided what, but likely something a more experienced pony wouldn’t rush into.) without thought that turns out to be a trap. Faced with a nightmare, she wins, but likely wouldn’t have been nearly as injured had she not disobeyed to start with. Someone bears witness to this and she begs them to keep her secret. Whether they do or not will be discussed. Depending on this plot, things could go several different ways. I have ideas for both, but I’d really love to plot it all out with you guys first, so I’ll hold off on putting those down just yet.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? I’m thinking shaman or oracle. I’m not completely sure. I’m assuming Hex will tell me where she wants to go through rp. XD

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi, the sons of the goddess Nyx.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As a dream creature, not really alive. Or if they are aggressive/violent, then a nightmare.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They return to the dream realm, sometimes they take their body in case they plan on returning. Others leave their body as they are tired of reality.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Foals and newly created are somewhat exempt as they are considered ‘still learning’. If it continues for a prolonged period, however, they are at best considered dimwitted, given menial tasks in the herd, and at worst are considered a test that should be overcome and removed.

Name Ideas - Kalee (It's literally the name of a Star Wars planet. Sue me. xD)
Personality Ideas - Loyal to a fault. Kalee adheres to the herd and their belief system like white on rice. The herd is first and foremost, with her sisters being just as, if not slightly more, important. She is duty-bound, has a high sense of honor, and has little to no tolerance for foolishness. Her personality might evolve as I play her, however, and being part of a herd will definitely spark my RP muse again!
Plot Ideas - The main thing I want is for her to be told 'no, you will never make it as a Guardian.' for reasons that will pop up after she has....well, popped. Beyond that, I will honestly have to get into her character before anything, get some family time/talks in, and get settled with the herd ideas!
I would love for her to wander off from the herd one day as a foal, and come back as the hardened mare she will end up being. Perhaps encounter a skinwalker and escape with a scar?
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Guardian. She will settle for no less.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi, Sons of the Goddess Nyx. In particular Morpheus the winged God of Dreams, Phobetor the God of Nightmares and Phantasus the God of Illusion.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Dream creatures that are not truly alive.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - It is seen as death, returning to the Dream World, as it were. Mourned. Should the departed return, they will believe all that was outside the herd was naught but a dream.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Intolerant toward those who do not believe. Newborns and foals are exempt.

Name Ideas Anoushka - Hindi name derived from the Sanskrit word anoushka, meaning "one who fulfills their dreams and aspirations."
Personality Ideas Anoushka will be a complete and true believer in her herd. Never straying from the path she believes that the Oneiroi had laid out before her. As one who never questions, when things go wrong, she has a tendency to not be as level headed as she should be. Though, for the most part, she can work around these things. If anything gets really bad however, she has a mean streak and a temper that tends to flare up. Though this rarely happens to her, since she considers herself to be blessed and sees most things as an obstacle to overcome, it's still something to be weary of when the time comes. Anoushka takes her studying within the herd seriously. No matter what it is that she is learning, she believes that one needs to put their all into it. No obstacle will stand in her way!

Anoushka sees her family as an extension of herself. Her sisters, Freyr, and her parents are the single most important thing in the herd for her. She simply wouldn't be able to see any kind of life without them. Or even any dream without them. They are the leaders of the herd. Her parents in a realistic way, and her siblings in her mind. She cares for each of them deeply and would do anything for them that they would ask of her. The same kind of devotion she has for prayer, she has for her family. Celebrating her family with prayers every festival!

As a believer and a complete devote to her herds ways, she takes any and all prayer seriously. This is not limited to the prayers to help others either, it includes anything she is asked to do for a ceremony as well. Anoushka commits herself one hundred percent to everything she does. Feeling that her parents and the Oneiroi would want her to do nothing less. This flat out belief in everything leads her to decide that she must help others. She must help those in need no matter what. Leading her to the decision that a Shaman is the best path for her to choose. To become the best that she can at healing those who need help the most. And later on to use that knowledge combined with a position as an Oracle to help even more. To reach out to as many within the herd, or to those who are prayed into being, as she can. Her destiny can not be denied.

Anoushka can have a temper like no other. Though this is usually calmed with intense prayer, there are times when even prayer can't quiet her intense feelings. At these times it is usually best to keep away from her and out of her way. Or at least if it's her entire wrath coming out, which is especially true if you are the source of her anger. This is more common when she comes up against those who do not believe in her herds ways. Simply not being able to contain her wrath and anger against those who do not believe in the Oneiroi as strongly as herself. Though even those who make her mad as such are given some mercy. As Anoushka considers these to be times when her strength and resolve are being tested the most.

The next most important thing to her beyond praying and healing others is learning. Anoushka feels that it is beyond important to teach those who do not understand or those who simply need to be taught. This can include new ones who have just come into being, or even those who have been a part of the herd but do not hold their beliefs. These are the ones that she tries to teach the most. Feeling it is imperative for them to understand. For the herd to be as whole as possible. If she can get even a single of these dim-witted fools to finally understand, she considers that an accomplishment.

Plot Ideas

  1. Brought into Being...: Anoushka is still a foal. Grasping what it is to be real and to be a dream. As a test, she decides to try and pray another into being. Without knowing it, another foal had wandered away from their traveling parents. What this means to Anoushka is that they prayed someone to be! Afraid of getting into trouble with her parents, she tries to hide the other foal until she can maybe place the other back into the dream.
  2. Forgive and Forget: Slighting someone is really not something to be taken lightly. And Anoushka learns this the hard way. When she ends up going against another, she must learn how to make reprimands and to earn the others forgiveness. This will certainly be an important step in her growing up and understanding how important it is to respect others.
  3. Coming of Age: Anoushka has decided what it is that she wants to do with her life. Or at least when she feels she must study. These feelings are the strongest they have ever been. Anoushka feels that it must be the Oneiroi and others leading her in her direction. The path they have decided. Though it's not a large ceremony, she feels like it's a big deal for her. This sets her own mind at ease.

  4. Meeting a Skeptic: Anoushka does not appreciate this other. This fool who dares to tell her that the things she believes in are foolish. That the things she believes in aren't true. This other makes her mad beyond compare and she responds by lashing out to test herself against this non believer.
  5. Another Soul: This attachment is not new to her, but it is new for Anoushka to feel it for one who is not her sisters, Freyr, or her parents. Perhaps this one is special to her. Like her father to her mother. She knows that she will probably have others she feels this way about in life, but this is the first.
  6. Meaning a Bit More: This is something unexpected. The enjoyment she feels when this other is around. The talks they enjoy! Truly this is the one Anoushka can bond with the most. A friend to the end! Perhaps even into the realm of dreams and into the afterlife.

  7. Prayers of Foals: Anoushka decides that it is time for her and her other to maybe make a prayer for the foals that they always talked about! And even her best friend has said that they will be present for the prayer! This is an exciting time for Anoushka.
  8. A Prayer for a Friend: Her friend has asked for their own prayer for foals. Though Anoushka doesn't mind, she finds it strange that her best friend wants her to pray for foals with them. But, then again, who doesn't like foals!

  9. Healing Claws: As a Shaman she has a responsibility to learn everything she can about healing herbs and the needs of those around her. When someone is in dire need, Anoushka will often show up without anyone really telling her of such. She has a bit of a sixth sense about when others really need help and listens to the spirits that call her. When she is seen, it means you really need help.

  10. Moving Beyond: She takes being a Shaman seriously and, as such, has decided that during this years Coming of Age, she will declare that she is moving onto being an Oracle. In Anoushka's mind, her combined knowledge as a Shaman and an Oracle, combined with her sixth sense to help others, will be the most important thing to those in need.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? A Shaman to start and then later in life she will decide to move onto being an Oracle. Feeling it's important to take on a seemingly more important role in the herd. She feels that praying and helping to heal others is an extremely important role within the herd and must be taken seriously.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The herd worships the Oneiroi, the Sons of the Goddess of Nyx. Specifically they worship Morpheus, Phobetor, and Phantasus. The Gods of Dreams, Nightmares, and Illusions, respectively.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They see a stranger as a dream. One who isn't in reality as of yet. Though this can potentially change if the herd decides to pray for the other to be real. Though aggressive ones are called Nightmares and can be considered a test to the herd. Either one to drive out, or one to get rid out (kill).
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They are considered to have died. This can happen one of two ways, where the one who passes brings their bodies with them (simply leaving the herd), and one who leaves their bodies behind (true death). Either of these ways the one who has left or passed is mourned. And one who comes back from the outside of the herd, from the dream, sees everything that happened outside of the herd as such. Simply a dream. And any scares are considered a test from the Oneiroi that the other had to pass.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - They do not tolerate those who do not believe. Foals are accepted a bit more as those who question things, since they are newly come into being. However, adults who do not follow the belief system are considered slow and dim-witted. Often given menial labor as work and kept away from the foals so that they do not impress their thoughts onto the newly lived beings.

Name Ideas Oneironaut Lux
Personality Ideas - Lux will grow up believing herself to be a oneironaut - one who can travel through dreams, or have "dream telepathy." She will be a bit of an adventurer - venturing further from the herd than most of her family or kin on occasion, but only during her oneironaul travels. The things she sees and experiences while "traveling" she will return to the herd to interpret; spending long hours in meditation and prayer over what she's seen and trying to deduce what the visions will mean for her family.
Plot Ideas - I generally tend to let the characters "write themselves" instead of scripting out too much at the beginning, but things I would definitely like to explore with Lux:

Dream Telepathy: Lux believes when she dreams she's getting direct visions from the gods, and that she can travel freely between the dream world and her corporeal 'reality'

Exploration: Lux desires to push the limits of how far outside the herd she can travel - something that her caregivers might often find exhausting. She isn't looking to escape or anything; she just believes the further "outside" you go, the more dangerous the dreams become. She's foolishly brave in this regard: eager to see nightmares and other dream beings. She doesn't particularly want to interact with the outside world, but merely observe it; take the knowledge back to her herd and meditate on her "findings:

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle would be her goal, though she's a bit of a free-thinker and rebellious lass. While some of her ideas may seem different, they all follow the path of the religion set by the herd.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi, specifically Morpheus, Phobetor and Phantasus.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Non herd-members aren't really "alive" - just Dream creatures who has not yet been prayed into existence.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - If they leave, then they simply have returned the dream realm and can be prayed back one day if they so desire to return, however, if a Soquili dies they believe they have tired of reality and passed permanently back into the Dream Realm; they are mourned briefly for the loss of companionship.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Young skeptics are considered "still learning" and will spend much time with the Oracles and other teachers in the herd. True Non-believers are not welcome, and considered dim-witted or simpletons for not understanding the beliefs.

Name Ideas Aisling (I know I am a dork but it’s a fav of mine)
Personality Ideas
Foal: A bit inquisitive when it comes to the Dreamland and the herd, she would spend a lot of time asking various questions to learn more about the Oneiroi (even those besides Morpheus, Phobetor, and Phantasus) always wanting to hear every story, know every beast, flower, everything in the valley that they live. She would look up to her mother as the Luminary, taking notes on her kind, loving, but firm manner in dealing with the herd and wanting to be similar to her in most ways. Good at lending an ear those in need of a friend or support and is good at taking care of others in the herd and her family. She is a honest hardworking filly.
Young Adult: A bit like her mother in terms of soft spoken, kind, patient, and loving but firm when need to be especially when dealing with teaching the foals of the herd. She is still much like her foal self in terms of being a hard worker and not losing the inquisitive side of herself. Unlike her mother, however, she is a bit of perfectionist always worried about making a mistake, always wanting to make sure everything turns out perfect and correct and that she doesn’t let not only her family down but the Oneiroi as well. She is well versed in the beliefs of the herd, knowing most of them and almost memorized all of the stories she could about the Oneiroi.

Plot Ideas
Bright Eyes - Being an inquisitive foal herself, Aisling would dedicate a lot of her time to helping and teaching the foals about their beliefs, the Oneiroi, and everything located in the Dreamland. She has no objection either helping the newly created to better understand however her larger focus and concerned would be on the foals wanting to keep their traditions and beliefs alive in their young and keep them away from those who doubt. It would be nice for her to deal with a foal who is just as inquisitive as she is, and maybe interesting as well to deal with one who seems less interested or less caring about the matter.
Belief - It would be a short plot/rp I would like Aisling to come across someone who is less than interested in their belief, or feels that it is crazy, or show a large amount of skepticism in general towards them. It could be someone in the herd, whom she would try to help convince or help them believe again. Or it can be outsider, someone that doesn’t truly exist making her concerned that her belief isn’t strong enough and she must do more to show her faith.
Nightmare - Simple plot of encountering a nightmare, an outsider that is hostile and willing to threaten her, a reminder to her that not all dreams are good and that she must become even stronger for the Oneiroi.
Storyteller - I would, if at all possible, like to have her be responsible retelling of the herd’s creation during the festival. I would like to have her rp a few days before about her nervousness and concerned about making a mistake, or fumbling over the words and making not only herself into a complete fool but insult what she holds dear due to her blunder.
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? Oracle

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi, and more specifically Morpheus, Phobetor and Phantasus.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As dream creatures that are not truly alive, if they are persistant enough they may be granted reality.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They return to the dream realm, they are Dreamwalkers who have chosen to take their bodies with them and may someday choose to return and be resurrected in pray.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Those who do not believe are treated as dimwitted, or worst a test that must be dispatched from the herd. They are given simple task in order to keep them away from foals or newly created who are still learning.

Name Ideas - Puwe'odara (Crow in the Dreaming Tree) -> Kintálte - (Blessed by [attached to] the Mist/Spirits (Oneiroi))*

Everything (or nearly) is playing off her changeling nature. I had so much fun; thank you for hosting this contest!

Personality Ideas - Intuitive.

Puwe is aware she and her siblings...are rather odd, in comparison to their parents. However, because they are treated no differently than any other member of their herd despite their differences to their parents, this does not have a negative impact upon her personality. It is, rather, a positive one, for she will come to realize that no matter one's outward appearance (aside from the Nightmares), one can be unconditionally accepted within the herd.

Puwe is a relatively young soul in terms of things; insatiably curious, willing to learn, and still figuring things out along the way, she'll learn her wisdom as she grows; whereas an old soul intrinsically has a "knowing" wisdom, her path is designed to allow her to grow into knowing, into being. She feels she has some great purpose, something pulling her somewhere, she just can't figure out - can't "hear" - where, just yet.

In her youth she tends to be fairly excitable and...jumpy. She'll grow and develop into a more laid-back mare, with some serious determination to help ensure the best and brightest future for her herd. Her values will largely be taken from her mother and father, and she's sure to have a pretty good relationship with her siblings. Freyr she sees as a very bright soul, and has zero regard for the fact he's not family by blood; he's family, period.

Plot Ideas -

xxx Fading Into Light - the herd and her parents are the first to notice the change in hue; after all, her basket was dark...but the filly is somewhat lighter. Was there a mistake or is this a sign from the Oneiroi? Her mother may find things out, but realize that Puwe has to find her own way. It's her mother's job to influence her in other ways, like growth and personality, as her much larger purpose is to the herd as a whole.

xxx Learning to Hear - she will find a particular tree - her "dreaming tree" that she finds it easier to listen with those ears of hers. It's a particular tree that she finds calls out to her, something she can be around that relaxes her and opens her up (later on, especially) to listening to the Oneiroi. I like the idea of Soq having their own "spot", so to speak, even though those spots are likely shared with others, sometimes.

xxx Figment, Figment... - as a curious and inquisitive sort, Puwe will likely venture around with her father and may slip off as a filly or as a young adolescent to meet what she will come to call a Figment (similar to a Persistent Dream, but one who is not within the herd lands). An outsider, one who was not blessed (yet, potentially) as a Dreamwalker, but not a nightmare, either. I want this to be a challenge for her; someone that contradicts and wants nothing to do with her beliefs and will scoff and intelligently shoot down and argue with her. This may instill temporary doubt, and it will be interesting to see if she can overcome it.

xxx From Figment to Dreamer - may even be Figment from previous plot idea; Puwe will have something of a knack for intuitively listening as to who will be allowed into being. I'd like for her to interact with Figments more frequently after her initial argumentative encounter, and after a small struggle within herself to actually go encounter others. After all, not every Figment or Persistent Dream would be so obstinate, right? Curiosity may kill the cat, but satisfaction definitely brings it back. One of these Figments may even become a lover; someone to share Prayer with for foals from the Oneiroi, and to help her. Love the irony of the thought of it being the argumentative Figment, too.

xxx Face to Face with a Nightmare - I want her to encounter at least one nightmare of moderate to high profile Nightmare. I'm not sure if I want her harmed or not (or if it's while she's alongside Daddy--ohhhhh drama!) but this will definitely serve to enforce her belief in her herd and all they believe in. She may question the Oneiroi somewhat, how they could allow Nightmares in, but will come to find her answer in a curious way...

xxx Crow in the Dreaming Tree - this lady will be the recipient of a crow familiar sometime early on in adolescence, likely during her role as a Shaman; this will come to be the event that leads her to discovering herself as an Oracle. On one of her trips to her tree, she finds a crow perched up in the branches. It...can speak? Did the Oneiroi send this bird to her? Little does she know this Crow will adapt quickly to the herd and its cultures (it may have been observing for quite some time and chose Puwe to bond to) and will act as a catalyst for Puwe. The mythos and lore behind significant trees are very intriguing to me. She will find many answers through her Crow, as well as her "Dreaming Tree".

xxx Right Where I Belong* - as she reaches adult and her "changling" appearance and true place in the herd is fully realized, Puwe will change her name before stepping into what is (potentially) her last role in the herd: an Oracle.

xxx Blessed by the Spirits (Oneiroi)/Ascended to the Light - there is potential for one more level, and that would be the Luminary, after her mother either steps down or passes away. COULD BE INTERESTING. I AM EXCITE. > O<

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle, for very obvious reasons. But, she'll go through a few other "positions" first, and find that she doesn't quite feel she "fits". She'll start by collecting things as a young filly for other roles, and then would probably move into a Shepherd, and then Shaman role (this may be switched between the two; she will not fall "out of favour" (though she may make some mistakes as part of the growing/learning process) but will rather intuitively feel that this is not her path) before finally finding her place...though if I'm honest, I can also see her one day taking over Phasianidae's place as Luminary after serving for a looooong span of time as an Oracle. > A>;;

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - the Oneiroi, Nyx's sons.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Members of the herd see strangers (from outside of the herd) as "not alive". A stranger within the herd (someone just not met) is considered very real and alive, in contrast. Anyone the Oneiroi have not given "herd"/"living" status to are all considered figments
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - they are considered to have "died', shifted into a different realm. This is different from a true death in that through prayer and ritual, the member can come back to life, so to speak. They would then consider their time away from the herd as a dream.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - The herd is very steadfast in their beliefs and do not tolerate disbelief well. If they are in the herd and making a ruckus and questioning things often, they will be kicked out. Foals are somewhat exempt because they are learning. Outsiders would likely be escorted/chased out of herd lands (from what I gather).

Name Ideas
Illumia (Ill Oo Mia): a play on the Latin word for illuminate
Or
Psyche: named after the love story of Cupid and psyche.

Personality Ideas
She is flawed. I prefer playing characters that have major issues and a few redeeming qualities. I feels like it adds a bit of reality.
- Territorial
- Confident
- Regal
- Driven/ambitious
- Well spoken
- Asexual
- Possessive. To a fault.
- Poor temper prone to sometimes violent outbursts.
- deeply committed to the herd and the gods. She consults with religious leaders very frequently. Her fondest wish is to become an oracle.
Plot Ideas
As a young adult:
-She will have a very large ego at a young age and have it set in her mind that she can throw the weight of her parents position around to get her way. This would be a couple of plots of her getting her way and then an adult giving her a gentle but firm reality check. It works for a time but she's a stubborn little filly.
-First crush completely goes over her head. She breaks a heart and can't fix it. She's coming to terms with being asexual.
As an Adult:
- She sees a being in the fog. She watches them for days, weeks, and months. Spending all of her time at the very edges of the territory. It's her first brush with obsession. She feels overwhelmingly compelled to wish them into existence.
- She wishes for them on her own which is a HUGE no no. But she hasn't exactly gotten over trying to abuse her parents position.
- Once the being is made real she feels like it is her duty to protect them from everything. In her mind she owns this being she made real. An intervention is had. She had gotten much too out of hand for far too long. What happens? Well the RP and whoever is involved will decide that.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - no actually I would much prefer it to be found via wherever the RP and plotting leads.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? -
Morpheus, Phobetor, Phantasus - the Oneiroi
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They see outsiders as "Dream Creatures" and not actually alive. They have to be wishes into reality from the dream world.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd?  - They've taken their bodies with them to travel to the Dream Realm out in the fog.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - to put it politely? They view them as simpletons.

Name Ideas Iambe, Phedre, Hecate
Personality Ideas - As a foal, little Iambe was full of laughter, and the brightest of spirits. Such laughter is infectious, and can travel very far indeed. With caprice she would dance through the grand traditions that her family held dear. With eyes lit from within, she would share such sparkling enthusiasm with any who dared receive such a gift. When she left her foal hood behind, she learned the value that such good humor has when seeking to comfort another. A quiet strength would gather deep within, mirroring that of her father-- her kind nature she would draw from her mother.

No filly can be perfect, however, and it is true that joking words can have their sting. When others would impose boundaries upon the filly, she would not readily learn them. Not at first. Not out of malice or intent, but because she herself had little concept of them, possessing so few of her own. With time she would learn wisdom, though it would be hard won. Her humor would not fade, but grow to be the backbone that held up the compassion and flexibility necessary to perform the tasks of a Shepherd. For, to deal with a child, you must first learn how to be a child... a lesson easily forgotten.
Plot Ideas -
- As a foal, Iambe flies a little too close to the sun, so to speak, and learns a swift lesson in respect for her father.
- Iambe does not initially understand the distinction between herself and the newly prayed for adults, considering them to be her own peers and treating them as such. While this may fit into the herd's mythos, perhaps it does not sit well with one of the new herd members.
- Being a bit too much of a puckish character early on, Iambe finds herself giving a number of gifts by way of apology at forgiveness ceremonies. Eventually, she begins to feel ashamed of the pain she has brought others, and seeks to redirect her energy along more positive avenues.
- Ever fascinated by the lore of her herd, Iambe is torn between two paths: Shepherd and Oracle.
- Ultimately, Iambe realizes that her "immaturity" will never dissipate, for she will always find humor in situations that seem bleak, or that are otherwise ill suited to such. It is simply a part of her.
- At a turning point, she comes to understand that humor can be used to lighten another's load, so long as it is paired with compassion. She attempts to help another in this fashion, with mixed results.
- Through much prayer and effort on her part, she begins to learn to use her talent (almost) entirely for good. This comes as an enormous relief to the filly, who only meant to share her light and laughter all along.
- At this point she will chose to follow the path of a shepherd or an oracle, depending on how things go ICly. Although some may consider shepherds to be universally stern and unyielding, Iambe, if she follows this path, would attempt to forge a new kind of shepherd... one who met the foals on their own level. As an oracle, she would ease the suffering of others with kind words and the sort of humor that reportedly kept Demeter from going mad with her grief.
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Possibly Shepherd or Oracle?

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Worship? - The Oneiroi, namely Morpheus, Phobetor, and Phantasus, gods of Dreams, Nightmares, and Illusion, respectively. They are the sons of Nyx, brothers to Hypnos, Thanatos, and many others besides.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - A stranger would be considered a mere dream creature, not actually real. Not yet, in any case. Those who would persist in visiting the herd might one day be prayed into existence by the herd, through the will of the Gods.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - That DreamWalker would be considered dead-- although since they took their body with them, it is possible that they would return from the Dream Realm once more. In such a case, the herd would "resurrect" them through prayer. None who die are truly lost, for one day all will return to the Dream Realm.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Depending on how the Soquili expresses that lack of belief, the herd will respond differently. If the Soquili speaks out angrily against the beliefs of the herd, they may be considered a test. If that anger persists, they may be seen as needing to be taken care of... perhaps permanently. If the Soquili merely gently questions, they may be seen as a bit slow. Such slowness is met with patience on the part of the DreamWalker herd, although the questioner may find themselves given trivial tasks to perform. Simple minded Soquili are not, after all, to be entrusted with issues of great importance.

Hope I'm not too late! Wasn't sure what timezone and time got away from me this week/end.

Name Ideas Lethe or Hecate - can't decide but for the purpose of this entry I'll use Hecate
Personality Ideas - Wondering - Hecate has always felt a little like she doesn't belong in the herd, but rather than let this make her question the Oneiroi, she strives to do everything possible to prove herself worthy of the reality she has found herself in. She considers it a blessing to have been prayed into reality. At the same time she is fascinated by nearly everything about the dream world and has a strong desire to listen to others dreams. This conflict of desires is the source of her misapprehension about her worthiness.

Plot Ideas -

- From a very early age Hecate is curious about everything from the herd lore and beliefs to even the smallest dream that another experiences. She pesters members of the herd for stories and maybe upsets someone? Maybe a dream creature appears and she interacts with it out of curiosity, not realizing what she is doing at the time. A discussion with either Drifa or Nebula about why dream creatures should be ignored? Perhaps the origin of her feeling of not belonging?

- Maybe as an adult she works through her feelings and decides to become an Oracle herself to help guide the herd (and who belongs more than one who teaches and guides?), to help others who might feel the same way as she once did and forge a spiritual bond with the Oneiroi.

- After she reconciles her feelings of displacement from her childhood, she is somehow either called to the dream world or chooses for some reason to die and take her body with her, to experience the world of dreams. Not sure what the reason would be, but she would be gone for a long time and this would cause a resurgence of her inner conflict. Perhaps even finding new purpose in the dream world, but even though the dream world feels very real to her (maybe she finds love, companionship, some kind of cause to believe in) she ultimately makes the choice to return to her reality - her feeling of not belonging banished once and for all in the wake of her extended journey through the dream world.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi, specifically Morpheus, Phobetor, and Phantasus
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As a dream creature (unless they hung about long enough to be prayed into reality). If they were violent, as a nightmare.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They 'die' and take their body with them.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Simple, misguided or child like, in more insistent cases as a test of belief from the Oneiroi.

Sometimes she paints pictures of landscape outside herd territory. Only a few family members know about her ability. Some within the herd believe she is simple mined or a little touched in the head. Since she has the habit of zoning out and sometimes her mind can get overstimulated between her reality and her vision.

Plot Ideas -
changeling- Several foals tease Archisha about her looks and say she was switched at birth and her mother and fathers real foal is being raised by nightmares. Alarmed Archisha seeks out her parents.
guardian-Freyr during Archisha foal hood is going to be her guardian. She will be very clingy to him and see's him as her security. When her visions first happen she will feel very isolated from many of her herd members and it his her kind older brother who she will lean on.

She will have to help heal him through herb-lore but the plant is far from herd territory. She will have no choice but to strike out by herself. She has never been alone and away from the herd and the journey will change her.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Shaman

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi, Morpheus, Phobetor, Phantasus
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Members from the land outside as dream creatures that are not alive. However if the dream creature is persistent the herd can believe that Oneiro sent them and through great prayer the herd can grant them reality.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - The herd member has returned to the Dream Realm and the herd perceives them as dead. A soq can return if they are resurrected through Prayer. Oneiro will erase the memories of the soq that has returned so (he/she so on) will not rember any interactions with soq outside the herd.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Foals, fams, and new her members are allowed more liberties in questioning herd beliefs. A soq who continues to disbelief herd practices is considered simple minded or they could be dispatched.

So this decision was absurdly stupidly hard, She-ra and I have been debating things for pretty much the entire day and there were a lot of entries we really really liked for one reason or the other. However we only have one basket to give away (for now) so we eventually had to come up with a Winner...
