The idea that Haven was interested in the Broken family left bad taste in his mouth as he didn't want to think of why they could possibly want to know about them. A revelation that frightened him, being that they had captured one of them, and could have almost done just the same to him. At least he knew Silas was safe at sanctuary. Yoko... well, he was sure she could handle herself just fine.
He heard her speed through thoughts of regret and apologies, as he frowned a bit, "Momo, I couldn't be mad at you for being so angry. It wasn't the best situation, and they tried their best. We all did. But I guess things don't always work out the way you want them to. I'm sorry that I took Mother away. I wanted to be there. I wish I could have. But I'm here now, and that's all that matters, right?" he forced a nervous chuckle. "Heck, after this, you're crazy if you think I'll ever leave you again."
Then the atmosphere changed, his heart sank hard as Moira began to ask questions about the school closing. Why it closed. How long ago that was. His chest pulled taught as inhaled sharply, his face full of sorrow as it dawned on him that Moira had no idea about Alice. He blinked, eyes wide for a moment to match her own, then softened in despair as he looked to the floor. "...moira.." he whispered, his voice cracking under the pressure of his own anguish. He sat up straight from the door, not even caring that his whole body was hurting now. He looked her in the eyes seriously as he fought back against his hearbreak. He spoke as calm as possible, a mask to cover the falter of his voice. "The last time I saw you was 25 years ago... After that, mother wasn't doing so well. So Rasiel took me in. He raised me with some other kids for a few years." he swallowed hard as he continued the story. "Twenty years ago, I returned to the academy with mother and Rasiel. We had not been back a week when the humans came to the gates. They said that Rasiel had been murdering innocent people in the city. They attacked the school. I..... It's hard to remember much, but I remember mother flying off. Everyone evaucated. We were in the forest. Rasiel came back and mother was dead. He.. he killed her too. Everyone saw it. He ran off and became known as Rasiel the Killer. Apparently just kept killing people anyway. But Delilah and I buried mother's body on the cliffside inside the academy grounds." he choked back a bit, tears in his eyes. "Momo, I'm sorry. I wasn't strong enough to protect mother... and she's dead." his voice cracked as his voice went from a light sniffle to an uncontrollable sob. "That ******** b*****d killed our mom.. and all I could do was tell him to leave... and I couldn't even stop him... I was there and I could have done something... but all I could do was hold her and hope it was all just a bad dream." his face was flush with tears as cried like a child right there in front of Moira. His breathing sporadic as he tried to rangle in his sorrow, "Even after twenty years, I sometimes hope I'll wake up and it's all just a dream... that mother is still alive..." his voice strained hard as it fell to a lower tone, raspy and broken as he forced his words out now, barely audible through his childish bawling. "...that kira... that she was still here..." he covered his face with his hands, his own wedding band prominent on his hand as he broke down, his throat choke out the words before they reach the surface.

Smiling a little as Lucian spoke about her quickly fleeting thoughts about her possible verbal apology which she still wanted to do at a later time, Moira rubbed the back of her neck as her brother didn't actually want to leave her this time. That was good, very good. At least she knew she had one person she could trust for right now that she knew was still there. One was good, but more would be better. The more people she could trust, then the more people she could trust to have her back if this were to ever happen again.
Though, as her brother sat up after saying her name, she slowly tilted her head to look at him with her good eye, turning it so the scarred half was a little more hidden for now. Keeping silent as he spoke, she could feel her heart racing as her mind reacted to each and every new thing she was finding out. Twenty five years ago was a long time, let alone twenty; who were these other kids?; Rasiel killing people; the attack at the school -- her mind lingered on that for a moment, almost not hearing what Lucian had said next. Alice - one of her mothers - dead? Swallowing hard, Moira could feel the guilt inside of her from years ago burning in the pit of her empty stomach, but she did her best to hide the discomfort as she watched her brother break down in front of her to tell her everything that had transpired in twenty years.
Letting out a breath that she wasn't aware that she had been holding in, taking in a gulp for a half second, she carefully moved forward and slowly pulled Lucian into an awkward one-armed hug. "I'm... I am so sorry, Lucian.." she whispered, trying to do her best to comfort her brother as she felt her own hatred for her uncle grow even more.
While Moira had never met the meta, she had a long standing hatred for him that never vanished, had she had never seen any redeeming qualities about the man. Now, now she just wanted to punch his face in for killing her mother. She still needed to say her apologies to Alice - something she had been planning on doing once she had escape and now that she had... and finding out that she had died, well that put quite the damper on that whole fiasco.
After a couple quiet moments of comforting her brother, Moira finally spoke up. "There needs to be something that I can help with, even as I am now...there has to be. I can't just sit around doing nothing after what they've done to me and what they've clearly been doing outside of the place I was in. I want to fight, I want to help. I need to help, Lucian. I need to find Vic, I know that much...if... if " she didn't verbally finish the sentence, but the words would be easy to figure out, more so for her brother.
"if he is still alive..."

Lucian tensed as he was pulled into a hug with Moira, fear kicking up in him once more, but then something else burned hotter than any fear he could have. His determination to keep what little family he had left as close as possible. Moira being the only person left in his life he considered family besides Zaku. Andy had defected, Kira was dead, Leukos had runaway for the millionth time. He exhaled shakily, his hands slowly sliding up around Moira as he completed the embrace. A comforting feeling warmed his heart as she whispered an apology. He simply nodded. For the first time, he didn't mind being this close to a female, maybe because she was his sister, and maybe because he felt the needed to be near her far more than his fear for hurting her. Though he could probably never hurt her physically, mental scars could run deep and that he feared over most things. Hurting someone mentally or emotionally. He just stayed hugging her for a while in this touching reunion.
Soon she began to speak, her voice filling his thoughts as he refused to think of anything else at this moment. He looked up to her, his eyes tired and melancholy, almost pleading in a way. "Then come with me." he spoke suddenly, his voice still hoarse, "The renegades... we fight against people like them. Places like Haven. We fight to protect those that can't protect themselves. Ultimately, we want peace. We want equality. In fact, there's a parley between the leader of the renegade and a girl from a research center, and he's going to have the audience to the city leaders all across Tretera. They are finally giving us a chance to be heard. He can only take two people, and I'm one of those people. But you can come to our hideout and watch the feed for it. Two of the members worked on hacking into the server that will host it so you can watch it with them." he explained, looking nervous but hopeful. "Zaku's assuming the worst, but I guess I'm holding out hope that maybe we can finally get peace." He listened to her talk of Vic. It wasn't a name he recognized but could tell that person meant a lot to her. Lucian easily understood who Vic was, as she thought of whether he'd even still be alive. "I'll help you find him." he assured her. "We can ask Zaku if there's any way to find out where he might be. I swear... I'll help you find where he is, and we can go get him together." he offered with a sense of purpose, reflecting on his own thoughts of how he never knew of Kira would come back from a mission or not, he never got over that, even the day she really didn't. He sighed, moving to run his fingers through his messy hair, drawing back a bit. "We should rest up....... Are you hungry?" he said, mustering the strength to push himself up to a slow stand and moved to his bag, pulling out some ingredients he had brought to make a few meals. He could combine it easily to make a very large meal for the two of them now, and wait until later to buy more.

Moira could only smile softly as Lucian offered her the chance to help free their people, help get them peace and equality. Something that she thought they already had when she was first captured, but seeing the twenty year span of hatred towards them, it was a rose-tinted version of the world of someone who never ventured too far from the Academy to begin with. Though, as Lucian spoke about helping her find Vic, her thoughts could only race about what could have happened about him, but she quickly tried to shove them to the back of her mind. Her husband was strong, not as strong as she was, but he was damn strong.
Letting her brother pull away from the embrace and slowly stand up, Moira continued to watch him, though she perked up at the mention of food. The small smile slowly turned into a bigger one, the small fragment of a memory of Lucian originally learning how to cook from her still there in her mind, although a small memory, bubbled to the surface for a split second. Moving to stand up as well, she stretched a little and put her hand on her hip, looking at her brother with just a very happy smile.
"Starving."
