Her head was tilted as she listened to him explain what was going on with the library, her brows lifting. "There's a Mauvian Headquarters? Oh man, I want to see that." She flushed, but it was true... the idea of being at a place filled with intelligent cat-people sounded like a small slice of heaven, honestly. "Are people like me allowed to go there, or is it Mauvian Access only?"

She paused, then added "If I can, I would love to offer my assistance in setting up the library. I don't have MASSIVE amounts of time, sadly, due to... civilian life... but I love books and knowledge, especially if it pertains to space, and I would adore helping you out, honestly."

She leaned back, her hands resting behind her back as she looked at her friend.

She found one of the stone benches to sit down on, one without cushions, and sat down on it, patting the empty space besides her, so that they could both be as comfortable as possible without risking one of the cushions. She considered his words, as she turned her head towards the stars above. "Maybe that is not always the best, to know all of one's past. Sometimes, the knowing makes it harder to live every day, when what you know makes you question yourself. I may not have memories of past lives, but I have enough memories of my own to know this. Sometimes, things are best forgotten."

She glanced back at him and smiled a little. "I can try. Depends on the kind of design decisions. If you're looking for aesthetic, I'm not totally sure I'm best for it. But spacial planning? For that, I'm you're girl."

Cheomseongdae put an arm around her friend's shoulder, in a comforting way, her eyes sad as he spoke about it. "That is... hard. I am sorry you have to deal with that, Arthur. Having flashes of familiarity but nothing more must be incredibly frustrating. I wish I could help. Just remember that if you're having a hard time, as your friend, I'm here to listen and help when I can."

She looked up at the telescope, and wondered, wondered if somehow they had known each other in their past lives, that he felt something connected to this, but she did not know yet, either. Nothing had come to her, not yet.

She smiled at him, thinking that even in human form, he was SUCH a cat. "I will help, than. I've never made one, either, but I've spent lots of time in them. Books were my only friends, at times." More time than she wanted to admit, really.

Cheom had to control the urge to shove him off her lap... This was rather more personal then she had been expecting him to get. She reminded herself that Arthur was NOT used to interacting with humans in a humanoid form, and therefore would not be aware of how... personal this could be. She bit her lip, trying to decide how to explain this to him.

"All of that would be wonderful, and I appreciate that... And look forwards to helping you get the library organized. Once it's organized and ready, we can always ask people what they think, and go from there, regarding anything future needed... Maybe ask for donations, so it doesn't have to all be paid for by you or I."

Oh... oh dear. She had to speak up, now. There was a moment where she thought about it, and finally she said "Ah... Arthur. You might... want to know two things? Firstly... Most humans don't bath themselves by licking themselves clean. We use baths and showers, so if a civ saw you doing that, they might think you were... having mental health issues." She paused, and tool a slow deep breath. "And then there's the laying on my lap. Normally it's fine? But when you're in human form... It's more... personal? Usually humans only do that with someone they're." She paused again to lick her lips. "Romantically or physically involved with."

She really hoped that would be enough, that she would not have to spell it out...

She coughed, then, and turned back to his question. "I think... I want to figure out what was going on here, first. I mean it's SUCH a big observatory, I want to learn what it's main focus was. What were they searching for? Once I understand more about this place, I can decide what I want to do to this place, see if I want to personalize it, or restore the beauty of what it was instead."

"Um. Well. I. What?" She reviewed what he said, and what she said and finally it clicked. "I mean, I suppose so, but it might be awkward to have a long term relationship with a human if they do not know what you are? And those who do, therefore, might find it a little strange, knowing they're involved with someone who's usually physically a cat."

She paused, and said "There's a WHOLE LOTTA social and legal strictures related to that that might make it fifteen kinds of awkward. That said, if you have a romantic partner in mind, you could talk to them, see how they feel on the subject. My point, however, was more that this kind of thing, the curling up on the laps of your friends when in human form, might cause awkwardness too, and might make people uncomfortable. Especially if, say, they're involved with someone... Some people might see that as cheating. I know the guy I'm dating would be super upset if he saw and did not understand what was going on. Which... he would not." After all, as far as she knew, her boyfriend was purely a civilian.

"You are not a cat, no, but when you're not in this form, you look like a cat, especially to the civilians, which is sort of where I was going with that statement. Physically, other then the star, you guys are not distinguishable from a cat to the naked eye. It's not the same as being one, obviously."

This was an odd conversation, and it was definitely going into one of the stranger places she'd had things go in this world of magic and war.

And that really said a lot.

"Um well, yeah. He has lost people and he's really vulnerable to the idea of that, so if he thought that was what was going on, he would be really upset. Generally, it's considered bad form to go after someone who's in a relationship, unless it's an open one... And that can be really complicated."

Her brows lifted at that last question, and considered, then finally said "Human courtship is a REALLY weird and confusing mess, partly because we have so many different cultures, which have different views on it. For instance, have you seen the ladies wearing the scarves that cover most of their head, basically leaving only their face, or maybe even just their eyes, visible?"
